Hi zembo!

wan Leave DH with his mother and go out with some friends Xmas Wink.

DH off to Japan tonight and not back until Tuesday. We are leaving on Wednesday but I have pretty much packed all our clothes and only need to organise a few things, phew...

MarshaBrady · 17/12/2011 15:53

Thanks!, will definitely send you all good wishes with a toast to everyone. Looking forward to the big MU next March.

Red dress sounds great. Am so keen to see the 5050s in rl, but I won't try and sway you.

Christmas tree decorated, Liberty baubles Grin and presents need to be wrapped.

Ds1 got accepted today for one of the schools we are considering (the assessment he did last month). So relieved pleased!

MarshaBrady · 17/12/2011 15:53

Bloss brilliant stuff re the 5050s. Amazing!

blossoming · 17/12/2011 15:59

Yes, they're my Christmas present. Instead of the bike. Still in transit. Will catch up in a bit.
Have a fab night out lovely MU girls!

AmberNectarine · 17/12/2011 16:04

Ladies, will be missing out on tonight I'm afraid - kids a bit all over the place after our week away so doesn't seem fair on poor old DH. Really sorry to miss it, but will have a tipple in your honour if when I get 5 minutes peace!

pickledsiblings · 17/12/2011 16:34

Marsha, great news about DS1, I'm so pleased Smile.

Hope you all have a fab night out. Must be your turn to get drunk Marsha.

Bloss, I'm sure the 50:50s look great on you. I suppose you'll be having a huge trying on session later to see what to wear them with.

I have been having a massive trying on session as my HoF order arrived I have kept - blue Oasis flannel skirt and a bright pink version and will wear as styled with black opaques and shoe boots. Also have a bright green Zara skirt so will hereafter be known as the teacher who wears the bright skirts.

Also kept this cheap lovely blue Mango shirt which looks nice with the bright blue flannel skirt.

I am now in the process of ordering lots of knitwear from JL.

Fritzi, you are so well prepared, good on you. I can't open any of your links as OpenDNS is blocking sites with lingerie Hmm.

Hi Zembo Smile.

OllieinOrange · 17/12/2011 16:42

Ooh well done Mr Bloss, lovely gift. Hope you had a lovely day together.
Thats great about DS Marsha, clever thing!
Pickled loving your signature teaching style - Mrs Bright Skirts!

Hope those of you in London have a really lovely evening, so wish I was joining you. Shame you can't make it Amber. Lets get the March meet up in the diaries - what was the date???

Portia4 · 17/12/2011 17:02

I love all your shopping Fritzi shame the navy dress is to short .
Zembo that wrap is fab.
Bloss Shame about the skirt.
Glad that London is going well Red

ReineDeSaba · 17/12/2011 17:35

Evening everyone..
have been very busy 'enjoying' DD1's school holidays the last couple of days..my heart sunk the first morning when she told me she was bored before we even got to 8 a.m but actually loving having her around and watching DDs interact.

I am dressed in my MU outfit already..let's see if it survives teatime Shock ..sorry you can't make it amber ..was looking forward to meeting you..will have to see re-spring MU as 17th march..DHs birthday..

fritzi I loved all your links.. stunning..
have to say re-Wendy..I think you need longer legs i.e be tall,to balance out the width of the feathery skirt.I am also not a fan of black boots over blue jean( mrscb will be along in a mo to tell me otherwise)but she does get it right a lot of the time..I'd love that zigzag dress!

bloss annoying about the skirt..thanks for suggesting the m and s one for me but I have to be very careful with A line combined with short..can be eyewatering on a pear!

red really felt for you up at 4 a.m after your night out but hope you've enjoyed catching up with old friends..looking forward to meeting you later.

marsha that's brilliant news!

speaking of news..my secret santa arrived by hand yesterday..my lovely neighbour said it was FROM A MAN(can't work out who was more intrigued him or me)obviously neighbour now thinks something VERY exciting going on rather than someone's hubby on a mission!should make opening on thurs, night.

ReineDeSaba · 17/12/2011 17:36

ollie any firefighting tips for tonight Wink

ReineDeSaba · 17/12/2011 17:41

ooh and a big Hi to zembo great to see you Smile

AmberNectarine · 17/12/2011 18:19

Oh yes, SS arrived for me too, by standard royal mail. No Milk Tray man bit here..

blossoming · 17/12/2011 18:21

Phew back home. Had a lovely time. Started shopping at 9.30. I got some lovely black boots for DH, then he got me the 50/50s. Off to M&S to get some stocking stuff for the DCs; coffee; Rymans for stationery for DS, also stocking filler; Debenhams for lovely Bobbi Brown goodies: got the metallic long wear in black pearl, gel eyeliner in violet, and the hydrating eye cream which I love since I got a sample of it last time. Then a gorgeous long lunch with champagne for me before heading home. So nice to spend quality time with DH.
Might be allowed to wear the boots on Thursday for dad's birthday.
Great to hear from you all.
Lovely to see your post this morning zembo. Hope you're well.
notyummy, that is hilarious! Hope you didn't get a delayed hangover! From tomorrow I am back on the Shred mission. With my bug and bad cold, I didn't manage any this week, or the end of last.
I like the blouse carciofi, but couldn't see the scarf. I have decided against the MK scarf. I was told that leopard print isn't really my style. Also DH might have bought me a scarf I linked to from my pashmina. I don't want to rain on his parade if so.
Hope you had a good day wan. Great catch up earlier! Hope you have a great birthday this week.
fritzi, you are going to have a great time in SA! So envious. The weather here is just appalling and so cold. I wore the roxy today, and it was good for the shops, but boy was I cold outside!
Sorry you're all unwell sprogger, let's hope it all clears before next week.
Also, what a shame you can't make the MU amber.

You're right ollie, we need to sort out the March one!
pickled, you will look sensational. Really excited to hear of all your work outfits.
I think it is probably a good idea that I live on opposite sides of the country to you red! We would look like twins (sort of) right now! Have a great night.

Russianred · 17/12/2011 18:26

Just in from a fraught return from the theatre - settling the DC, getting changed and then heading out. MU ladies, I may be a little late, but I'm coming!

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/12/2011 18:37

Have fun tonight ladies.

Reine - you know me so well Smile I have the black biker boots from Hobbs and I love them as find mid-calf works better on me.

Pickled - well done on your job! I did get a leather skirt in the end - this one but with a big discount and vouchers - am going to wear it tomorrow to the pantomime.

Fritzi - love the maxi!

I have ordered all my presents from DH but keep saying I want a surprise - I don't really but enjoy the look of fear/panic I see in his eyes [evil]

Very excited for strictly tonight as was meant to be out last night when babysitter cancelled half an hour before we were meant to go - so DH went as was his work thing (which I'd organised) and I stayed at home [grumpy]

AntPants1 · 17/12/2011 18:53

Hi all. Fab panto but have only just got back.may be a little late for meet up!

OllieinOrange · 17/12/2011 19:06

Oh yes NY meant to say what a great party story, how lovely for them! (At last year's school Christmas party - kids go to their classrooms for food and games, parents go to the gym for mulled wine and sausages (!) - there were 2 people seen kissing in the changing rooms that most definately should NOT have been kissing!

Reine am now really intrigued by your SS delivery man! You can see how local rumours start!!! Feel free to to use my doggy paddle style of fire fighting if the need arises!
Bloss your day sounded lovely. I did wonder of you getting the 5050s was part of the Roxy effect? Maybe I should get one???
Zembo have only just clicked on your wrap link - gorgeous. Just the sort of thing I would see on someone and think that looks great, wonder where its from.
MrsCB shame you missed the party, hope all your organising was appreciated. Who do you think will win Strictly? I think its between Harry and Chelsea, JD is just a bit too earnest for me.

DH took DSs out to buy me a little something today (after I may have had a moan about the lack of any effort for my b-day) and apparently they had to be talked out of buying me the Smurf dvd! Sweet!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/12/2011 19:15

Have just opened a bottle of champagne despite DH not being here. I am toasting all W&Avids. You have filled my life with so much sunshine during the past year, mwah!

mrscb Fantastic skirt!

bloss Such a lovely and well-deserved day with your DH!

reine What are you wearing tonight? You would look stunning in Wendy's zigzag dress! I'm intrigued by personal SS delivery Xmas Smile.

portia Enjoy having all your lovely DDs with you!

ollie I think next meet-up is 17th March.

pickled You will dazzle your students and new colleagues with those vibrant skirts. Are you going to do any colour blocking with the knitwear?

marsha Love the sound of your Liberty tree!

AntPants1 · 17/12/2011 19:34

Hi. Am on way to MU. NY am channeling you with your sparkly clutch from new look! Hope your hangover has released you from it's clutches!

pickledsiblings · 17/12/2011 19:46

Is this a fake?

Yes to colour blocking Fritzi Smile.

What a skirt MrsCB, nice bag too! Pity about your night out.

Did you not think about joining the choir Classic?

notyummy · 17/12/2011 22:40

Just finished watching Strictly. DH and I think it was the right result.

Hope you MU ladies are having a fab-u-lous time.

OP posts:
Fleecy · 17/12/2011 23:23

Yes, hope the MU is going well. I am sure you are all looking very stylish and await reports of what everyone's wearing.

I had my first proper night out since having Lara last night - MIL stayed at ours with the DC while DH and I kipped at hers so we could have a decent lie in. One bar, two clubs and several cocktails later, got to bed at 3.45 and I am paying for it propping my eyelids up today! I wore the Paul & Joe dress a few of us bought last winter, with black opaques, black patent courts and a camel suede with metallic leopard print Mulberry clutch (thanks to the lovely choogirl who found it for me in the sales last year when it had sold out online). Felt pretty good if a bit conscious that my spanx might peek out from underneath my dress if I wasn't careful.

njc I am already watching your friend's scarf! I have saved a search for both L&L and Crumpet scarves. No idea how to tell fakes though pickled with the proper expensive scarves.

I have a lovely leather pencil skirt that would be perfect for this winter but can't do it up Grin

Have bought this skirt which I would recommend. It's got just the right amount of sparkle to make it perfect for day or night so I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it.

How lovely of your DH bloss - think you'll look fab in the boots.

Russianred · 18/12/2011 01:06

Have stumbled in from mini MU somewhat tipsy - I left Reine, Ant, Annie and Marsha as the old school tunes were beginning to make an appearance - how did you get on ladies?! Had a fantastic evening - thanks for the lovely company and all the wise words Grin.
