New one!

Thanks NY!

So glad to hear all is well with your Dad Ollie, you must be so relieved. Fingers crossed for DH's big meeting and likewise for your DH Fritzi.

The trousers are rather lovely Amber. I have a thigh phobia though (my own, that is) and can't help but feel they would look shocking on me..

I know I keep banging on about it, but this house stuff is just getting worse and worse. I went to John Lewis today and just pottered as it was raining, the kids needed to sleep and there was constant drilling and the lifting of floorboards in all rooms. Going to my Mum's next weekend and can't wait for such home comforts as floors. On that note, is anyone still up for a drink one evening?

wideawakenurse · 01/12/2011 20:03

Thanks NY.

Ollie glad to hear that your Dad is doing ok.

Finally home and DS in bed. DS found to also be allergic to sesame, peanut and pine nuts.

I am not really that surprised though, and it's better to know to know these things. He is a long way off his first wagamama's. Grin

redllamayellowllama · 01/12/2011 20:06

Yes WAN, much better to know than to be 'caught out' (for want of a better phrase). DS is very lucky to have a lovely Mum who is so devoted to caring for him. Is he likely to grow out of them (have no idea about allergies - sorry if that's an idiotic question).

redllamayellowllama · 01/12/2011 20:13

Just had a glance back at the old thread - NY I am very impressed by your poise and calmness and how well you juggle everything. Imagine you are very much looking forward to Christmas Day!

notyummy · 01/12/2011 20:20

Aw thanks Red. You wouldn't have said that if you had seen me stomping round early, completely overreacting because MU caramel crispy cake things were so difficult to slice Blush.

Such good news about your Dad Ollie.

Like the title NY. Would you say that a cross trainer was the best piece of equipment to get? Dh has also suggested a rowing machine but they bring back too many bad memories of 2k tests!

Really pleased for you and your dad ollie. Enjoy your night out.

Sorry about your ds's results WAN. Agree it's better to know. And agree with red that he's v lucky to have such a good mum.

Red- renovations sound like a nightmare- keep thinking of the final result. Hope you have a good escape at your mum's.

Think I prefer the purple one NJC.

Icecream- think you will use a crosstrainer more than a rower tbh. Rowers are great but you can get callouses on your hands (voice if experience...) although you buy weight lifting gloves and use them for rowing.

I prefer the Audrey one NJC. A shame about the out of stock one, but think this one is as nice.

FritziGreenEyes · 01/12/2011 21:07

njc For you it has to be Audrey I think. Smile

red I feel your pain. We once had builders in and no doors yet. Had to drive to next shopping centre to go to the toilet. Terrible...

wan Must be stressful to deal with allergies.

ollie Great outfit for tonight. Have a great time!

IceCreamCastles · 01/12/2011 21:11

Oh yes, am no stranger to the hand callouses. Back in the day I did 2 rowing marathons (34miles). You can imagine the state of them after that. Cross trainer it is then.

Njc- i also prefer thr purple one. Glad your ds's cough seems better. There's definitely a lot of coughs around. Dd has been a pain challenging today- whingy and contrary. Was v glad of bedtime.

Can anyone help - am trying to get a nice top/dress for my Mum who is dreading the cold when she arrives from Singapore next week. She likes Boden stuff, likes bright colours and interesting prints and is a 16-18. Was hoping to get something in the 30% off, but can't see much I like in her size. Thoughts?

blossoming · 01/12/2011 21:33

Hi everyone. Dog tired. Have been a-soap-selling. And I sold out. With an hour to go. Very pleased indeed. So have covered all costs, and made a profit. London (yes fritzi, this Saturday), here I come!
Annoyed the White Co top hasn't arrived yet though, so can't do the EA thing.

njc, I can just see you in the Audrey dress. Hang in there with DS, he'll get there. Loved the photo of him on fb. Adorable.

notyummy, thanks for the new thread. Great title. Sending you subliminal Jillian messages to get you through a) cake making and b) dh on duty.

ollie, so glad your dad's home. Hope he is well.

We have a humidifier. Anyone want it?

roary · 01/12/2011 23:23

Argh iPad ate my lovely post!

Njc love that copper one but as sold out purple next best. Coast has a lot of teal in, I wandered past just before I left. Seeing those colours reminds me how un-autumn I am.

Ollie, what a relief. I felt for you over the spilt milk. Left the kitchen for a second yesterday and found Ds had tipped his pasta (cooling on counter) on the floor and was eating it with a fork.

ny great title. Pm me before your flights and I will bore you with my travel tips. 5 year olds will be no trouble on plane , but I'd get phenergan or similar for the jet lag. Dd (3.5) woke us up on night 2. We heard her saying to Ds, "stand up on this side of your cot, little man, and I can lift you out!" he was sleeping.

Ladies, I have a dilemma. The Australian economy is so strong that beauty services are exclusively provided by girls on working holiday visas, even in high end places At risk of riling our Irish friends, they're all from tiny towns in Ireland. The one who made one brow noticeably thinner than he other cheerfully told me she had trained in her tiny town, so tiny I'd never hav heard of it, apparently. The place I used to go is run by the xp of Dh's best friend, messy breakup and she went a bit (probably justifiably) bonkers and stalker ish. If I went there heaven knows what would happen! I might put a plea for my brows on fb.

pickled special thanks for your words bout the move!

Ds is singing to himself. Very cute. but should get him up.

Annie, that sounds so tough. You also sound like the best mum ever and think of the good things your dd s get from seeing you jiggle work and family and have a great career. Remember what a fab role model you are!

Morning, on the flight to Paris, it's the first time that we will have all been together in ages. We're meeting at the Eiffel Tower! (cliche - moi?!)
Ollie Glad your Dads op went well.
Well done Bloss with your soap, you'll have to share your secret with us!
Lots of lovely links, I'm proud to say that I'm still not shopping! But I'm sure that the Dss will make up for it in Paris.
Am wearing Houlhies with Goatskin gillet and silk blouse and leopard print scarf.

carciofi · 02/12/2011 07:05

Blossoming, I would love the humidifier if it is not a pain to post. I will paypal you the postage. Enjoy yourself tomorrow. I think it is a year since I met you. I'd just had my 12 week scan.

Portia, have a lovely time.

Annie, great that they think so highly of you.

I do my Irish eyebrows myself! :o

OllieinOrange · 02/12/2011 07:40

Here you all are! Didnt realise we had filled the other thread so quickly! Great title NY

Portia what a great place to meet! You sound tres stylish today - will blend right in in Paris!
Bloss great that you did so well at the Fair.
Amber still tempted by the Gap trousers. Dont own any Top Shop ones - should I just order the size I usually get for Gap jeans or size up?
Icey keep meaning to ask you, did you every get any black leather boots in the end?
Fritzi when will DH find out about the job? Fingers crossed for him. Loved your party outfit.

Spoke to Dad yesterday - he really cannot understand why we were so concerned for him! Men! DS1 asked him if he still had pain and did he get a special plaster from the nurse - too cute!

DH came home in terrible mood - further changes afoot which he thinks will affect his role. Told me to put my volunteer plans on hold and look for a paid job which hits home how worried he is. Will play the dutiful wife this weekend - think Betsy from Mad Men - without her wardrobe or ciggies!

carciofi · 02/12/2011 07:53

Ollie, sorry to hear that, hope things work out in your DH's job.

NJC, the Audrey dress is lovely.

Forgot to say, Bloss, congrats on the soap sales.

Just ordered my SS present. I hope they don't include the invoice in the parcel!
