Well DD2 missed her flight from Beauvais , but we managed to get her the last seat on a flight from CDG, and she's on her way home. My parents will collect her from the airport as I am on a girls night out tonight, will wear my FC dress. Hope everyone has a good evening Xmas Smile

florenceuk · 16/12/2011 18:15

running into say that Crumpet sale has started. this is nice. Can a woman have too many leopard print scarfs???

Russianred · 16/12/2011 18:42

Hope you're having a great time NY and Ollie and hope that you get out Bloss. so glad DD will be with you for this evening Portia - she must have had a difficult day, bless her.

Fritzi that is an all round excellent haul. The maxi dress is to die for!

Bloss I love the scarf, would be great on you and a much-deserved reward. Am going to head to the shops tomorrow while DS and Mum are in the theatre and think I will gravitate towards the striped Whistles top - you've given it such good reviews.

Blue your pink JBrands sound fantastic, just the ticket come March/April.

We're staying a little longer than planned as a few crucial ceilings/floors have been removed at the house. No real bother - the luxury of covered floors here is quite something and am enjoying my time with Mum. Went to visit some elderly relatives in North London and DS was On a serious charm offensive - striking up conversations with strangers on the tube, being generally cute and then playing delightfully at their place. I didn't bring any toys with us from Brizzle and it's forced him to be really imaginative with his play - so lovely to watch.

Really looking forward to tomorrow night!

MarshaBrady · 16/12/2011 19:13

Me too Red!

Bloss ooh let me know what the scarf is like.

Fritzi lovely lovely stuff. Bravo on Christmas Day dress. I might have to, gulp, brave the actual shops next week!

I am beat. Last day of term phew.

Hello ladies Smile Hope you're all well.

Some of you may not know me, I'm basically an old timer who barges pops in now and again Grin

Fritzi love all of your links. I got this ring today but think I'll probably return it and order yours instead as won't have enough opportunities to wear it - it's not exactly day wear, whereas yours is. I also bought this AH make up bag which is lovely.

NY have fun tonight

Blue I don't live too far away from you, we could have an East Midlands meet up (you, NY and I) and make all those London girls jealous Wink

On Wendy - I love her too and particularly dangerous territory for me as she's the same height and we're a similar build (she's a dress size smaller though I reckon). I'm very envious of her bag and shoe collection Fritzi does she have that MK bag?

Ollie really like the sweet jar thing you linked to the other day.

In other sartorial news, I got this wrap in black this week. It's so lush and cosy, I love it. I've also worn these Comptoir coated skinnies a few times since I bought them a couple of weeks ago, very flattering indeed. I'm sure there's more but embarassingly I can't remember what at the moment!

OllieinOrange · 17/12/2011 08:16

Survived playing the corporate wife last night! Was a tiny bit late arriving at the restaurant as I popped into the lovely dept store in Amsterdam and er, lost track of time! I brought a chunky G-Star snood in midnight blue to add to the pile of presents for DH to give me. Got a few looks swanning into the restaurant late with a shopping bag in my hand! Meal was lovely - 6 courses - still feel full!

I was looking at the MK bags last night Fritzi, yours is amazing, such a lovely colour and the dress is perfect for Christmas in SA. What a great buy. Love the ring too.

Hello Zembo lovely to see you. Have you moved north yet - I can't remember?
Bloss did you make it out, hope so?

carciofi · 17/12/2011 08:20

Zembo, that wrap is gorgeous. Are you going away over the holidays?

Hope you made it out, Bloss. What did you wear? Nice scarf. And no, Florence, you cannot have too many leopard print scarves! I ordered this one from the Crumpet sale. I have also ordered this blouse and a pink and navy striped cashmere jumper from Whistles. I will be wearing that on Christmas day probably, while Fritzi enjoys the sun in her lovely dress!

NY, hope you aren't feeling the effects of the gin this morning!

Portia, great your DD made it home.

Ollie, bet you were the best dressed at the dinner last night.

Roary, hope you enjoy your holiday. All the admin when you move countries is so tedious. I have never done it with children in tow. My SIL and friends complain at length about shopping in Oz.

Emo, I tried Dukan and could not stick to it, I missed Alpen too much!

Blue, enjoy your maternity leave.

I met two people wearing the Aigle cuckmere coat yesterday. We all admired each other, quite funny!

My purchase of today will be a Disney princess nightlight. DD1 sleeps with a lamp on as she is afraid of the dark and it is too bright for DD2.

Wan, ignore your DH and keep the boots.

Red, Marsha, Annie, whoever else is going, enjoy tonight.

blossoming · 17/12/2011 09:14

I am almost in Chester! Treacherous roads but DH driving carefully. Have dropped off DS and DD. Feel liberated!
Went out last night, wet and cold. My priorities were, Roxy, burgundy nail varnish and BB make up. Ended up wearing black skinnies and slinky top. Not very festive, but hey I'm a dramatic classic!
Ate too much. Needed alka seltzer this morning!
Next stop R&B!

wideawakenurse · 17/12/2011 09:48

Really quick one from me, busy, busy trying bake birthday cake etc and MIL arriving today but I am getting my hair cut this morning.

My SS arrived yesterday - very intriguing!

Back later to catch up properly.

OllieinOrange · 17/12/2011 09:52

Anyone looking for smartish black biker boots? I like these M&S ones here

blossoming · 17/12/2011 10:11

OMG, DH has just bought me the 5050s! They are incredible!

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/12/2011 10:26

Yeay for Bloss's DH!

Russianred · 17/12/2011 10:36

Oooh he's a good man Bloss. You will not regret - they're sooooo comfy and lovely and everyone who has seen them has complimented (even randoms).

just getting ready for our afternoon out and thinking about tonight's outfit - Whistles lace dress or Whistles sparkly jumper, black skinnies and 5050s? Can't decide.

Russianred · 17/12/2011 10:40

Nice sales purchases Carciofi - have trip planned to Whistles tomorrow armed with my vouchers. DH arrives on the morning and will owe me a little bit of child-free time.

Hope today goes well WAN (or am I making up a party for today?) and you can relax and enjoy the hairdressers.

carciofi · 17/12/2011 11:10

Where are you going, Red? Have you worn the dress yet? Wear that, if not! Which is the Whistles sparkly jumper? Sounds good.

Bloss, what a fab man! I haven't tried them on yet, I am almost afraid to in case I really like them! Need to get credit card down and stop shopping (new year's resolution).

carciofi · 17/12/2011 11:11

Duh, sorry, Red, just remembered you are meeting some A&W ladies. Yes, definitely the dress!

notyummy · 17/12/2011 11:16

Morning all. Have been on iPhone with no broadband for the last 24 hours so can't look at links, but they sound great!

Zembo- fantastic to hear from you! A meet-up sounds great, although I not sure when Blue is due so we may need to wait until she has a delicious baby to show us!! For the benefit of the Notts ladies, my works do yesterday was in The Living Room, which did fabulous food. Then went to numerous pubs Blush and retired to my room at the Lacemarket Hotel.

I did have a lot of Xmas spirit yesterday, but it was over quite an extended period and I drank water as well. Felt ok this morning - hurray- so went for run along the canal and then lovely relaxed breakfast of smoked haddock and poached eggs with the weekend papers. On train home now. Price of 2 days of heavy socialising is spots (this always happens to be- its like my skin is telling me off.) I have the forehead of an adolescent. Nice.

Bloss- congrats on the boots! Sorry the skirt was too small, but it was def worth a shot at that price.

Ollie- glad you enjoyed your night out as well.

Fritzi- am looking forward to seeing your links after the reception they have got.

Emo- opposite to Carciofi here. Dukan does work for me, but is a bit boring. To work in the long term you have to view it as kick starting a new way of eating though.

Just remembered a most entertaining incident last night in the bar (at 9pm after everyone had been drinking since 12 noon..) Two colleagues whom I know to chat too, but not very well suddenly fell into a passionate embrace. They were sitting beside each other when he grabbed her hand, pulled her up and snogged the face off her Shock. It turns out they are both single (I was slightly scandalised because they are both at least my age do I thought the odds were that at least one would be married/ in relationship. It was a proper Christmas party!! We all clapped and one of the guys that works for me volunteered to go back to the office to photocopy his bum so we could say that we had fulfilled every Christmas party cliche Grin.

notyummy · 17/12/2011 11:20

Ooh- forgot to say, have a fantastic time MU ladies. Am most jealous, but realistically my liver cannot take anymore.....and Dh and Dd could be justified in thinking that I had transformed into a 3am girl if I disappeared to London today. Please report back though and raise a glass to us absentees.

AmberNectarine · 17/12/2011 11:37

Ahh, ny could be the start of something beautiful! DH and my flirtation began in a shared taxi home from the Christmas party, and we were living together by the next!

wideawakenurse · 17/12/2011 13:25

Back from the hairdressers feeling human again, and eyesbrows threaded too.

red DS's party is tomorrow, but we have another party this afternoon. I'd go for the dress, because whilst the sparkly jumper is lovely, you'll get loads of wear out of it this winter, whereas you might not get that many opportunities to wear the dress.

Bloss wow, can't wait to see a pic of you in the 5050's. Lovely DH. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and evening.

NY, Might be a wedding coming up then! You have been a social whirlwind of late. My skin is also the first thing to show the signs of excess. Hope you have a restful day today.

Zembo lovely to hear from you , and what a great wrap..really cosy looking.

That maxi is stunning Fritzi and I can imagine will be perfect for SA. Sounds like your weather is awful though at the moment. The sun of SA will be very well deserved.

carciofi, thats a pretty blouse, have seen it in real life.

What a stressful day for your DD portia hope she will be home soon for you though.

Sounds like a good night out ollie, 6 courses..yum!

Hope I have not missed anybody, bet I have though.

I will try and post a pic of my OTK, DH seems to like them a bit more. I think that trying to pull anything slightly 'edgy' off is tricky when pregnant though. I will keep them though, and try not to hanker after the real deal of the 5050's. Wink

I had a quick browse in Jigsaw before the hairdressers. Thought I saw my perfect jumper that I would have snapped up for next autumn. I have been looking for a hip length, slouchy, wide striped black and grey jumper for ages in a decent fabric. Thought I saw just the thing in Jigsaw, but turns out it has a big white stripe across the chest. WHY???

I should be gaining brownie points from DH. MIL staying this weekend and she kindly offered to babysit for us tonight which would have been a slightly early birthday celebration. I could tell DH didn't want to go as he is nursing a hangover from his work's Christmas party (free bar). So I have reluctantly said not to bother going out. He better remember this...Grin.
