Hi everyone. Thanks for your nice comments re my soapmaking. I feel a bit of a fraud. I buy kits from here. Couldn't be easier. I would recommend that website to your friend njc. Maybe get a few books from the library too?

White Co top arrived. It is longer than I imagined and therefore perfect. Shall be strutting tomorrow after all. I am so desperate to see what The Kooples store is like, I have been dreaming about it! If the leather collar dress I love is sold out, I'd like to try this in the plum. I don't have enough plum in my wardrobe.

annie, things sound really difficult. I hope things work out soon for you.

MarshaBrady · 02/12/2011 20:06

Hi. Good day doing some work. Aided by two double espressos it was good.

Looking forwarded to catching up on thread.

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/12/2011 20:14

Which top Bloss?

carciofi · 02/12/2011 20:14

Have fun, NY, you sound very glam.

Annie, the jacket sounds great.

Bloss, which colour top did you order? I went for navy.

Kooples has some lovely stuff, I had a look there today. I bought most of the Christmas presents today but nothing for me, however I have my eye on several bags and these boots.

If anyone is looking for the Whistles biker jacket, House of Fraser have it in a few sizes.

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/12/2011 20:15

Oh and really recommend MIH oslo jeans - especially the lovely velvet ones - suspect they'll be in the sales shortly.

AmberNectarine · 02/12/2011 20:17

Is it terribly sad that I have been watching Wendy's videos and was ridiculously excited by the fact she has a blazer I have? It is, isn't it...

carciofi · 02/12/2011 20:18

Not at all, Amber!

MrsCB, this is the White Co top.

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/12/2011 20:18

No Amber it isn't.

I want to be her Grin

And like Fritzi said strut round in lovely heels rather than sensible boots.

I also want to be as teeny as her.

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/12/2011 20:19

I also want to find marni leather jackets on ebay.

MarshaBrady · 02/12/2011 20:23

Nah not bad she looks good and has good stuff.

I've decided to keep purple shoes as more fitting with parent stuff coming up.

Work friend loves M Kors too so had nice stuff to chat about on train. Well amongst other stuff.

blossoming · 02/12/2011 20:50

I got the top in the charcoal carciofi, mrscb. Good value with the discount I think. Looks great underneath the Roxy. Must wear spanx though.

blossoming · 02/12/2011 21:01

Love the boots carciofi. Tempted with the black pair. (You could sell me anything with 'waterproof' in the title though!)
Just watched the layering video. Wendi had similar boots, before she changed into the same ones I wear every day Wink

MarshaBrady · 02/12/2011 21:07

Icey impressed at your rowing! People had to get up so early to do it at our school.

NJC nice dresses.

Bloss good work on the soap.

Anniemac sending you hugs lovely, and well done on the promotion talk. You are doing so well. But I know it can still be hard and a bit stressy.

Ollie tough too about more changes at your dh's work. Sorry to hear that. I hope some work wardrobe things will come your way if you do work to make it more enjoyable.

Red if you mean London, It would be fabulous to see you and meet Amber too. Anniemac can I twist your arm? we can have some fun.

Amber I love that Kors scarf, kind of wish I had ordered it. Sold out now of course.

Nice boots Carciofi, Kooples is nice. However I thought it was a band for ages til I saw the shop.

AmberNectarine · 02/12/2011 21:27

yep red I'm game, though only around on the Sat, as I am doing my unglamorous CentreParcs thing.

Marsha I was actually in two minds over it, but so glad I got it now - was missing a really big, chunky scarf in my wardrobe. Next scarf on my hit list is a Missoni knit.

blue while I like the idea of a style stalker I fear I may lead you astray. Have you seen my posts about Primark PJs? DH has been furnished with Hush links and sent on his way.

bloss a Kooples has opened near me, I like it, though sometimes don't feel edgy enough to be in there!

OllieinOrange · 02/12/2011 22:21

Saw this navy ponte dress in Monsoon - like the neckline and could be very flattering - I find ponte sucks all my wobbly bits in. Polly dress

I am loving Scarf Wendy! She needs her own show on mainstream tv. Watched her clip on layering and tried on a sweater vest in Zara - looked like a sack of spuds on me! We need her on this thread for a live webchat!

Have a great night NY

wideawakenurse · 02/12/2011 22:42

Hello.

annie, lots for you to consider my lovely. Sorry to hear of your tough times. I really hope things turn for you and your family soon.

NY Hoping that you are having a wonderful evening. Your outfit sounded perfect. I am with you on the nails thing too, although my problem is having to remove varnish for work. It seems such a faff, all that top-coating etc only to have to remove it all within a day.

Bloss hope you have a fab day tomorrow, looking forward to hearing your Kooples feedback too.

Ollie Sorry to hear of the stress around DH's job. These are such difficult times, which so much uncertainty. DH's company seems to be in a constant cycle of redundancy and role review. Fingers crossed that it all works out. I agree with the others that finding work that will fit around school runs etc can be really tricky.

Hope all those with poorly DC's are on the mend soon.

DS is going through a waking up phase at 4am at the moment, and most nights he ends up in with us, as I am too tired to do anything else. We have an NCT 2nd birthday party tomorrow in a soft play place, and DH has gone out with the Dad's tonight. Something tells me its going to be a tetchy morning in the WAN house!!

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2011 23:13

Have just watched episode 4 of 'the killing' and heart racing!

Hope you are having a wonderful time yummy your outfit sounds spectacular..

Remembered a couple of other style crushes today..Julianna Moore and Prince!

Wan commiserations..soft play gives me the heebie jeebies!

annie stay for the chat and don't click on the too tempting links if you need to reign in on the spends

carciofi is there a kooples in westfield?

icey you are right,I am small, but Wendy(are we on first name terms now Grin )has the most delicate limbs I've ever seen

wideawakenurse · 02/12/2011 23:20

I know Reine. Its so not the place to be wearing anything low rise. Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/12/2011 06:34

Oh lovely top Bloss - had looked at that a lot online but have 2 navy jumpers already.

Carciofi - I really really like those boots - how high do they come up your leg (and I know you're a lot taller than me) - could I rock the Wendy look with my skinnies in those . . . What would Wendy do . . .

WAN - will be tetchy here too - I am off to hairdressers and then helping at christmas fayre so he's in charge of the children whilst suffering from acute man-flu.

OllieinOrange · 03/12/2011 07:12

Carciofi those books are great - love the tan shade.

Like the new 'What Would Wendy Do' mantra MrsCB
Bloss enjoy your day. guess you will be on the train now - with Roxy! Are you and Ants meeting up?

Thanks for all the supportive words on DHs job - worse case would be that he gets made redundant but in theory he could get interim work as a consultant. Im trying not to worry about the unknown. Phase One of be nice to DH in progress (curry on the sofa watching Midsummer Murders last night Hmm, long lie in for him this morning).

DS2 up at 6am this morning - all because it was his turn to open the Lego advent calendar - and then got upset cos it was a lego policeman and not a boy on a skateboard!

Christmas Fair later - apparently there is a little shop in which children can buy a small present for their parents and get it wrapped. Am v intrigued to see what DSs choose for me, a hot wheels probably.

carciofi · 03/12/2011 07:15

MrsCB, I see you are forced to be an early riser, like me! They are mid-calf, you could definitely wear them.

Reine, yes, there is a Kooples opposite Whistles. There is also one in Richmond. Richmond has great shops, do you go there much?

Nice dress, Ollie.

DD1 and I are off to Harrods today. Going to try to see Bloss and Ants as well though they may hide if they see us coming as they enjoy a child-free lunch!

redllamayellowllama · 03/12/2011 07:15

Morning all. Lovely boots as ever Carciofi, i love your boot taste!

Have fun today Bloss, stuck my nose in Kooples on Thursday (conveniently opposite Whistles) think you'll enjoy it!

Marsha, Amber, Annie; Saturday 18th? Who else can be persuaded - Wan , Ants, emo, Reine , Carciofi ( apols if i've missed Londoners out there).

Night out with friends proved disastrous after they got wrong day and had babysitter booked for tonight instead. Mild 'what do we talk about, are we still a functioning couple' panic over, we had a lovely, lovely time and went for a meal regardless. Must do it more often and take some time for us.

Have lovely days - DS hugely excited about swimming and then on to school fare.
