Oh God. It was loads. I was Shock at the bill. Then I though, ah without children in the old days that would have been a big night.

Still wonderful to have them, etc etc Grin .

Red you are not too short or anything for the boots! They do look great. I might have to try some on not to buy, just to see what OTK boots are like.

Hope you don't get too ill Bloss.

Me neither, red! And don't even go there with a boot-off ants, so sure red will look better!

redllamayellowllama · 10/12/2011 20:18

Will add you now ladies.

Yes MrsCb from R&B in Bath - they sent them to me! Not sure I will wear them to MU Bloss as want to wear my lace dress and might be OTT. Or would it?! So sorry you're feeling bad - it's been a really long term too which can't have helped much.

redllamayellowllama · 10/12/2011 20:22

Have just clocked you can barely see them in that picture. Never mind. And so you like my kitchen Wink?

AmberNectarine · 10/12/2011 20:50

They look fab, red! Really pleased for you, as they really did not look good on me! I am really unlucky with my legs though, relatively skinny calves and bloody massive thighs, whereas you look like you have great legs.

Marsha bottle is going poorly at the moment, but now DH is off I'm hoping he can pursue it a bit more aggressively, as when I offer it she just chews in the teat and then turns to my boob. Really hoping I will be able to pop down next Sat!

notyummy · 10/12/2011 21:16

Hi all. Love the pic Red- it will all be worth it when you're in your perfect house. Just finished watching Strictly- lord those Russian boys can dance Grin. Now watching 30 Rock- I love Tina Fey. Has anyone seen Date Night? It's just gone through from our Lovefilm list.

Glad you had a nice meal Marsha.

Hope you feel better soon Bloss.

AmberNectarine · 10/12/2011 21:32

NY I've seen it, I think it was funny but I Waac pregnant and kept falling asleep! DH rates it though.

pickledsiblings · 10/12/2011 22:14

Red, great boots! So do they have stretchy fabric at the back then, is that what the 50:50 is all about?

Verity, pink jumper with sparkley skull made me smile, just don't wear it with those TS boots you bought Smile.

I'm guessing Ollie and Fritzi are caught up in their continental festivities - hope you are having a lovely time of it Smile.

NY, you and your DH really are best buddies aren't you? It's so lovely.

Bloss, the whole feeling wretched at the end of the Autumn term is one of the bits of teaching that I don't love. Lucky I missed it this time. Get well soon so that you can hit the shops for some OTK boots - your DH would love them!

Fleecy · 10/12/2011 22:34

Love 'em red - although I did think pickled had written 'great boobs' at first glance. And while I'm sure they are, I thought that was a little too personal!

30 Rock fans here too ny, both for Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. And the rather wonderfully odd Kenneth!

ReineDeSaba · 10/12/2011 22:38

Nice kitchen boots red Smile

pickledsiblings · 10/12/2011 22:45

Grin Fleecy. Glad to hear you're keeping well. Loved your post about music btw. What instruments do you and your DM play then?

Fleecy · 10/12/2011 23:16

Mum sings - anything really from light opera to folk. I accompany her on piano. We mainly get asked to do songs from musicals, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gershwin, that sort of thing. Not terribly highbrow Grin She loves Gilbert and Sullivan. I hate it! But it seems to go down well.

I used to play double bass, oboe and flute as well but haven't done any of them for ages. I miss double bass but it's not the most practical of instruments Grin Mum plays violin and guitar, sis plays flute, clarinet, saxophone and bass viol (early music instrument) and Dad plays sax as well as his cello and double bass. We're oddly lacking in brass instruments but have wind and strings pretty well covered!

redllamayellowllama · 10/12/2011 23:23

Thanks ladies Grin. Esp Pickled! yes, 5050 because of the half fabric/half leather thing which makes for an excellent fit for me ( only pair of boots that have ever, ever done this).

You're a talented lot Fleecy, wow! Would love to be there for carols at your place.

Strictly was great - shame about Artem and Holly's last dance, which would have been amazing had she not run out of puff. DH has a load of 30 rock waiting for us, but I spent the last hour getting busy with my fabric shaver..!

redllamayellowllama · 10/12/2011 23:28

And also, very excitingly, my SS present arrived!

blue2711 · 11/12/2011 07:09

red please can I see the pic of your boots and kitchen too?! So pleased that you love them. It's such a great feeling to have something you feel fab in.

amber rather relieved to hear your feedback though. I have skinny legs and can suffer from the welly look with long boots so suspect that the 50 50s might be no good on me too. Those dune ones look great though and what a good price: you must be pleased with yourself!

pickled, congrats on the job! It sounds perfect. When the time finally comes I will be both terrified and excited about returning to a more substantial teaching job.

Back later.

blue2711 · 11/12/2011 07:31

New post from Wendy and she's wearing the 50/50s again... And they look fantastic. red, I'm really jealous of you!

A rather dull question: those of you with DSs, where did you get their shoes from? I seem to be on a permanent and fruitless quest for things for him to wear on his feet! He has converse and his beloved wellies and that's about it. Really don't like the clumpy black velcro adorned 'school shoes' that seem to be everywhere. Any suggestions would be very very gratefully received. He's 2.5 by the way. Thanks!

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/12/2011 07:53

Blue - DS has these boots

blossoming · 11/12/2011 07:53

Just quickly, blue, my DS has always worn Geox sport. He had big feet and the only alternative seemed to be Clarks black Velcro for years before he started school. I get them from R&B.

Russianred · 11/12/2011 08:16

Morning ladies, small name change here.

Blue you should be able to see now. DS has lovely Kickers boots for e winter and I like Ricosta, Ecco and Garvalin as boy brands - their shoes are all quite interesting and last and last. We used to go to a small independent in London, but sure they can be found online - I know R&B stock Ecco.

Portia4 · 11/12/2011 08:21

Morning, am having my favourite weekend breakfast of poached egg on toast!
AmberDsil has the Dune boots,so I couldn't buy them, but they are the nicest ones I've seen, she is quite small (5'2") and they do look fab on her, for any of the vertically challenged who are considering them!
Red We had the builders in this time last year, keep telling yourself - it will be worth it Smileby the way I love your boots!
We went out with some Uni friends last night, it was great to catch up.Today my parents are having all my family(7kids) partners, kids etc, 2 of my sisters flew in last night so it will be great to all get together, we will exchange gifts etc. I will wear navy Donna Karan mini skirt, and cashmere jumper with the OTK boots! Which got lots of compliments last night!

IceCreamCastles · 11/12/2011 08:39

Morning all,
Portia- I'm having a similar breakfast- bacon and egg on muffins. Yum.

Pickled- that job sounds perfect for you- I'm so pleased for you.

Red- boots look great. I'm sure the state of the house will match soon.

Amber- I like your boots too and you can spen difference on something else!

Yy to geox or kickers blue- my friend's ds has both and looks gorgeous.

Could I ask a similar question about children's wellies? Clarks and cheaper ones all seem to bag a lot around dd's ankles. What's the fit like on hunters and more pricey ones? She does a fair few miles in wellies each week so I think I ought to make sure they fit well.

Getting quite festive here now although no decorations yet due to dust from building work. Last night we went to an outdoor Christmas fair in the next village- it was lovely- a band, mince pies, mulled wine, chestnuts etc. Freezing though. A lot of barbours and fur! None of my coats do up now which is becoming a bit of an issue!

Also taking dd to see father Christmas on a steam train later. It will be her first experience of both so could be interesting.

Have good days everyone.

Oh yes- haircut went ok in the end. It's in a bob now but I think it needs to go a bit shorter as it ends jut where my hair starts to wave so I have an annoying kink at the bottom.

Portia4 · 11/12/2011 08:39

Bloss hope that you don't take ill this week.
NY best of luck with the catering today.
Verity your jumper sounds great, has anyone heard of Berenice, a really nice brand that do funky knitwear, (Dd2 introduced me to it last weekend) worth a look at.

AmberNectarine · 11/12/2011 08:40

Wow, portia hope your parents have a big house! My DH is of Irish descent, and his grandmother was one of 9 so family get togethers can be huge!

Am peeved because I bought some ski pants in TS yesterday to wear with my OTKs and have put them on to find they have a hole in the seam, so now have the aggravation of returning the damn things. Also have loads more packing and sorting out to do today. Cannot believe how much stuff a family of four needs for five days away, think we need a bigger car!
