Oh, and can I be really controversial and say I really don't like Wendy's Chloe Paraty?

AntPants1 · 11/12/2011 09:42

red I LOVE LOVE LOVE the boots! Actually I think those sort of boot look better on the more petite. I am with NY. Being 5'9 over the knee boots would make me look like a drag queen I fear! (and yes NY got the kinky boots ref and totally agree!!!!)

I hope you make it too Anniemac. It is stressful as it's all or nothing. But all that experience is a huge thing, it will come back. I know I've said this loads to you, but I think I got off very lightly last meet up. I owe you some champagne.

Amber I hope you do too. We failed terribly to use a bottle. Argh it was stressful at the time. We tried so many 'natural' ones. I sympathise. Good that your dh is around, maybe leave the room and see what happens. Have a great time away.

Icey I think Hunters are great on children. Ds1 wears his a lot.

Sprogger hope you all don't get too ill.

AntPants1 · 11/12/2011 13:03

amber DS wouldn't take a bottle. Eventually at 10 months i went out for the day leaving him with my DH and a selection of bottles, teats and formula and expressed milk. When I came back he was drinking from a bottle...with a VERY cross expression but drinking all the same. After then I ensured at least one feed in 24 hours was from a bottle. I gathered from DH that it was hell but it was the onl way we could crack it.

Thanks for the recommendation mary.

Russianred · 11/12/2011 15:54

Thank you for all the boot compliments ladies, it's all too exciting and I can't wait to be out in them!

Have had a great day here - a hunt in the woods for chocolate coins left by the Christmas fairies with some friend's, baking mince pies with DS this afternoon and then out road is having a Carol singing/mince pies/mulled wine number in an hour or so. Feel a teeny bit festive.

Annie I hope things turn around soon - it must be so hard being on a roller coaster without mich control over the eventual outcome. But yes, definitely take the positives where you can - how lovely for you and the girls to have DH around for an extended period of time. And please come on Saturday, even if just for one glass of wine. I would really love to meet you.

Amber fingers crossed for some bottle magic - if no joy, could you pop out for a while - will DD reliably go from, 7-10 say?

Hope everyone else is having a lovely Sunday, back later.

VerityBrulee · 11/12/2011 16:26

Oh Annie you poor thing. Fingers and toes crossed that something will come up soon, you deserve a break. I hope you make it to the MU, it would be good to forget about it all for the evening.

Red love your boots, they look fab on you.

Amber hope you have a relaxing week away.

Portia that sounds like a great afternoon!

Fleecy what a talented family Envy

Pickled I forgot to congratulate you on the job, it sounds perfect for you!

So I have unpacked nearly everything Off to our own house to get the tree and decorations down from the attic. When ds1 was little, he was always sick at Christmas, terrible coughs and sneezes. Poor little boy, we always thought it was bad luck until we realised we was allergic to the christmas tree Blush

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/12/2011 16:48

Annie - fingers crossed something comes up soon.

Verity - well done on unpacking!

So not a great day today as turned up for drinks at neighbours 24 hours late (they haven't moved in yet as house has been renovated) and I was looking forward to an afternoon drink Blush

Right - saw a 2.55 in the flesh - how much are they new please?

blossoming · 11/12/2011 17:25

mrscb, aren't they £2550 Wink? I don't really know, but I made enquiries a while back, and I think it's in that ball park.

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/12/2011 17:43

Oh I was hoping you were going to say about half that Smile

Am thinking ahead to 40th - so it could be bag or jewellery - chanel or diamond pendant . . .

Hey shall I post that on main part of site? Wink

blue2711 · 11/12/2011 17:55

mrs cb, I think the smallest size start for under £2000 if you have the 'cheaper' leather, ie not the very shiny smooth leather. I got one 2 yrs ago for (gulp) £1600. Still can hardly believe we spent that much but I do LOVE it. Think a 40th definitely warrants some Chanel or diamonds: two of my favourite things!

Thanks so much everyone for the boys' shoes ideas. Really like the look of those you've suggested and will definitely get him sorted now.

annie, so sorry things are up in the air and tough right now. It's lovely how proud you are of your DH. He sounds very talented. Hope things get better very soon.

blossoming · 11/12/2011 18:03

I very dare you mrscb Grin

wideawakenurse · 11/12/2011 18:23

Quick hello from me. Still at in laws until tomorrow. Testing times as always, an example would be the reaction I received from SIL when I told her I paid £7 for eyebrow threading once a month. This apparently, is akin to a WAG's lifestyle.

Great boots, red they are stunning on you.

Sending you positive vibes Annie from afar. Sorry that things are so tough at the moment.

Wil be back tomorrow to catch up properly, but yes MrsCB do post in AIBU re the 2.55. Would make for marvellous reading on the journey home tomorrow.

IceCreamCastles · 11/12/2011 19:03

Yes, do it mrscb- we can all come on and wind people up support you.

Sounds like a bit of a trial WAN. Hope you managed to get some rest.

Verity- sounds like things are slowly getting back to normal for you. Hope the situation continues to improve.

Envy of the meet up at the weekend. Hope you can make it Annie and Amber.

Back to drawing board with hunters for dd I think. The website I checked only start at a size 7. She is a small 5.

Is it normal not to have anything ready for 2nd babies? I'm sure by this stage dd had a decorated room, clothes, nappies, toys etc. This poor baby has nothing of it's own yet! Even MIL has refrained from buying anything which is v different to last time around!

Russianred · 11/12/2011 20:00

Icey - DD was a bit of a neglected second child in that respect. She did spend her first 4 months in a sling though, which DS never had as I was far too obsessed with putting down for naps and establishing a routine (fool that I was). Swings and roundabouts.

Hope you return from the in-laws with your nerves intact WAN!

Oh MrsCB you really must. How much fun would that be?

I meant to say Verity your pink jumper sounds lovely - I've developed a thing for Markus Lupfer jumpers, not that I'm intending on buying one, but the designs are so cool.

AmberNectarine · 11/12/2011 20:12

Oh mrsCB it would be hilarious, please do it!

I love ML jumpers, red, going to keep my eyes peeled in the sales. Speaking of which when do NAP and MW sales start? I bet it's next week when I have almost no internet access. Can you hear DH cheering?

icey I was way more relaxed with DD, her room still has loads of junk in it!

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/12/2011 20:16

Oh I'm way too chicken - barely recovered from my summer AIBU regarding people reclining seats on short flights [shudders] [twitches]

AmberNectarine · 11/12/2011 20:19

I remember that one! YWNBU!

Portia4 · 11/12/2011 20:27

Verity Despite you being discommoded, hopefully you'll have a great Christmas.
I meant to say that I have taken possession of 'the' bag, DH was unimpressed until he found the price in the pocket and not that I 'm superficial or anything I have to confess that I was too £1645! It's a Riva, and I have to say it is beautiful.
We're home and watching the Xfactor, what will we do on Sunday evenings!
