Can you still be funky in bootcut jeans!?

I posted earlier about feeling apple shaped at the moment (size 12-14, 5 foot 3, diminishing waist, increasing arse, good legs, big boobs, age 34) and I really don't think that skinny jeans suit me-I look like a triangle!

Does anyone out there wear bootcut jeans and feel they don't look like their mum!?

Where can I buy decent jeans that are slim on the thigh but fit on the hip-has anyone tried the Levi Curve ID ones?

I have it on good authority from my dh (so ok, he's not fashion-forward) that bootcut jeans look better on me with a slight heel than with flats. He can't explain why (he doesn't know that the reason is, they make my legs look a teensy bit longer which is needed cos of my long torso). It's the aesthetic see?
Plus when it comes to jeans, he's more likely to comment on how my butt looks than on the style of jean. That's men... so much less complicated
