Evening all!

Glad office trip went well Amber - the shoes are hideous; Polly Vernon (another woman I find a trifle irritating) featured them as must have in Grazia. I must not have.

Excellent news Pickled - what a relief!

Glad you're so happy with the swimwear selection Bloss - I donned my Seafolly bikini at the hen after much gearing up to it and felt bloody good for having done so. Close (subtle, i hope) scrutiny of the stomachs of 15 other women made me realise I'm not doing too badly.

Hope it works out Ollie. The dress does look very short, although my lovely friend lives in that style of dress (they seem to have made that dress on many colourways/patterns over the last few years) and is the same height as you and have never though of it as wildly short; I think she wears them to work occasionally. It really is a flattering cut; I am pretty much decided on getting the red and wearing it to the meet-up, as you suggest Grin.

Love the look of your wrap haul blondassassin - my eye doeskeep wondering back to the Liv blouse. I realy like the Peter Pan collar and can't decide if it would suit me or whether to go for something a bit more indie-ish in feel - look forward to hearing about them.

And yes, where is Carciofi?

redllamayellowllama · 16/08/2011 22:30

Aah, a litany of appalling typos there blind assassin - apologies.

notyummy · 16/08/2011 22:43

Ollie- think the site was Hotel.com, although the hotel we stayed in also offers reasonable deals via it's own website.

Just back from thai meal for DHs birthday. Hot and sour seafood soup, followed by BBQ seabass. Bottle of prosecco to share. Yum! Luckily I managed a long run today so can justify!

Loving the links!

blindassassin · 17/08/2011 07:38

I am blond red! I actually think it's nicer, I might namechange Grin.

Will report back on Wrap stuff, although like Ollie I have to wait until Oct for the Liv blouse. Think it might be a bit pretty for me, and I'm a bit collar-phobic to boot so we'll see. Have higher hopes for Bloss' Spot Top in the shell pink.

Mmm love Thai food NY, making my mouth water although at 7.30am a bowl of porridge might be the thing. Also v impressed at your booking a blow dry whilst camping in Switzerland. Takes 'glamping' to a whole new level. Grin

blondassassin · 17/08/2011 07:40

Ta dah!

wideawakenurse · 17/08/2011 07:55

Those wrap links are lovely. Makes maternity clothes even more depressing though!

The Thai sounds delicious NY, my favourite food ever.

Very funny to hear about Dolcee and MrsCB bumping into each other, spooky. Smile

Ollie, I really rate laterooms.com for bookings, we have had some excellent deals with them. If you remember we had that bargain break at Easter in Cardiff, that was booked with them.

wideawakenurse · 17/08/2011 07:56

Meant to ask too, yes, where is Carciofi?

ApuskiDusky · 17/08/2011 07:57

Morning, I like the new name blondassassin.

My interview has been moved to tomorrow, so I'm going to make use of the childcare I'd arranged to go to the hairdressers and go round the shops instead. Without children! (a rare treat). Need to think about my plan of attack to make the most of it.

Ambernj1 · 17/08/2011 08:38

pickled good news about the bag!

wan re. clothes jealousy if it's any consolation at least you will master the capsule wardrobe!

apuski sounds like a lovely day - have fun and report back with links!

red yes I hate Polly Vernon, was just thinking about that this morning (not in an obsessive way or anything!) I'm all for people having their own style and individuality, variety is the spice of life and all that, but I can't stand it when people blindly follow a trend that is hideous and ridiculous... Love the FC dress, it is gorgeous! Love that you are planning your meet up outfit already - what is the form, do we all go high-glam?

blindassassin gorgeous Wrap picks, especially the biker cardi I am surprised by how good the Uniqlo skinny cargos are actually, sad to already be shrinking out of them (though not that sad as still have a whole stone to go!)

wearing my new Reiss vest today with leggings, a navy vest underneath and stone IO boyfriend cardi - am taking the baby to the cranial osteopath for colic today, let's hope it works!

Ambernj1 · 17/08/2011 08:40

Oops sorry blondassassin!

blossoming · 17/08/2011 08:42

Loving the new name blondeassassin, and great to see you posting. The Boden cardigan arrived the day we left. It was handy for the airport at least!

Going to have a quiet day today. Seem to have burnt my bum cheeks and my cleavage. Nice.

Oops. Sorry.

carciofi · 17/08/2011 09:43

Hi all, I am here, it has been a bit busy with DH not home until 10pm at the earliest, trying to entertain DD1 and the cleaning lady away (I know, cry me a river!). I wrote a long post yesterday and lost it. Grr.

I must be a mean mother because I cannot wait until DD1 starts nursery school (she'll only be in 9-12am). I have to go for blood tests now as have not been feeling that well. The baby is great but still wakes at 4am, she is only 9 weeks old, in fairness!

Bloss, glad you are having a good time, apart from the sunburn. I need to get a nice swimsuit/bikini as we are planning on going away in Oct. I must look now before they are all sold out.

Red, great news about the job.

Wan, hope the morning sickness has eased off. I wore that Seraphine top a lot.

Icecream, good news about the scan.

Bonsoir, Plum, nice to see you posting again.

Blondeassassin, your hair sounds fab.

I had a babysitter last week so went shopping and bought black R&B ballet shoes, a red belt in Comptoir, then ordered an NF arctic parka and a Me & Em dress (so hope it gets sunny again and our holiday comes off). Kind of broke now but still want Goldsign misfits so ebaying a few things! I also ordered the Boden leather skirt ... MrsCB, I blame you!

Ollie/Emo, thanks for organising. I think I will be here and am happy with whatever.

Got to go, chat later.

OllieinOrange · 17/08/2011 09:49

Ladies, i have purchased a poncho! (thread breathes collective sigh of relief!) Back later with details!

notyummy · 17/08/2011 10:11

Oooh yes - congrats on the job Red!....and on the poncho OllieWink. Great to hear from you Carciofi and hope you are feeling better soon. Sorry to hear about the sunburn Bloss. I burned my cleavage majorly on honeymoon (involving a trip to the pharmacist etc) and poor DH was denied access to certain parts for a significant part of the holiday Blush.

This skirt in indigo arrived today and I am keeping it - looks nice with my Zara wooden heels. Probably not for short people as v high waisted so top half looks short (and I am 5ft 10!) Overall I think it looks good and I can wear it to work unless I have meetings. Yes, it is cheap....but it hangs well and looks good on, so overall it is a keeper.

Ambernj1 · 17/08/2011 10:22

carciofi I sympathise - DH working v hard at the moment, frustrating when I want him home at 6pm to give me a break! Sounds like the baby is doing well though, which is great. Hope you feel better soon!

Looking forward to seeing your poncho ollie - I love ponchos but it is not worth it for the moaning from DH, who would cheerfully have me dressed like a Pussycat Doll all the time!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/08/2011 11:10

carciofi It must be so hard with your two little ones and DH not being around as much as you would like or need him to. Especially if you are not feeling well. Maybe blood tests will show that you just need some minerals or vitamins? Great shopping! The model on the Me & Em website made me smile. In the first picture she looks like someone has hit her, in the second like she need to throw up, in the third like she is too drunk to walk and for the last I can't find any words. Lovely clothes though Smile.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/08/2011 11:39

bloss Ouch to sunburn! And yes, we are costume twins. Have to decide whether to wear grey or white for going to the swimming pool this afternoon. Finally summer here, yay!

Love the namechange blondassassin Smile. Would it make sense to wait with your coat purchase until you have had your colour analysis?

Lovely tea dresses red and ollie Smile

amber Great shopping haul! Yuk to crepey soled shoes on tube. Are "young women" in London also wearing cut off denim shorts with black opaques? Seems all the rage here at the moment but for me it looks all wrong for summer. Maybe I'm just getting old Grin.

apuski Enjoy your day of freedom!

notyummy That skirt was made for you. Hope you can wear it loads on holiday!

MarshaBrady · 17/08/2011 11:50

Red really great news about the job, congrats.

Blonde love the new name.

Fleecy, Anniemac Loro Piana is beautiful. (some a bit sloaney) but mostly divine, gorgeous, sumptuous, the softest cashmere and leather. I can't find a link to the boots, but they are on a lengthy, rather naff looking pdf on their website (page 18 I think). Also some mustard suede ones too.

I had that funny heart rush thing as they brought out the beautiful boxes and offered me a drink. Just like Pretty Woman, (after the transformation). Softness and rich colour, I am in big trouble as it is more expensive than anything else I own.

I also tried these Ralph L boots. They have in deep chestnut in the store. They were pretty nice too. But not as glossy as Loro Piana.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/08/2011 11:53

Here is WIT's white maxi. I like it but the way it is skimming the pavement not so much. OMG... I am turning into my mother!

PlumSykes · 17/08/2011 12:47

Like that maxi, Fritzi. Would look good with my new grey marl Toppers tee.

Seven bikinis have just arrived. Will get DS off to bed, and then try on. Then we can whizz to PO this arvo with the rejects.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/08/2011 14:24

We bought the Mini! Need to choose numberplate now but don't like to use my initials. Maybe I can use WA for Wise & Avid

blondassassin · 17/08/2011 14:54

Ooh how exciting Fritzi. Minis are lovely! Smile Love the idea of a W&A numberplate. It would make you smile without being obviously personalised. Grin

You are right about waiting to have colours done before making a coat purchase.

Marsha the boots sound heavenly, and as though they are a style that would never date... A few years ago I went to a party at the house of the owner of Loro Piana in Italy. He/his son (can't remember now) had a racing yacht that was doing a regatta I was taking part in. Back then I had never even heard of Loro Piana. Might have chatted up the owner's son in the hope of some free cashmere had I known Wink

Hi Carciofi, sorry to hear it's been a hard time lately. My DH works abroad, it is so hard doing all by yourself with 2. Hope you get some answers from the blood tests. Lovely things you've been buying though which must help cheer you up!

Wow 7 bikinis is good shopping Plum. If they're all good you will have one for every day of the week Smile. On the subject of swimwear, what sites would you all recommend for finding bikinis/suits? I'm pretty tall and athletic shaped and am starting to think that pretty frilly costumes are not really doing much for me. Anyone seen any simple shapes, with a bit of padding/ruching in the boob area?!! Grateful for any ideas.
