Evening all!

Loro Piana stuff is beautiful Marsha. An investment. Does that make you feel better?

I am currently loving the J Brand jodhpurs...hmmm...

Hope you are okay Carciofi...

Bloss...ouch for burnt bod. Very envious of the wall to wall sunshine you are enjoying! South of France next year then.

Seven bikinis Plum...decisions, decisions....I would have an awful load of trouble making the final choice, I think, from that number...what's the bet you buy half of them? Grin

Its DD's birthday tomorrow - we are in the midst of a birthday frenzy; mine next week and DHs week after. Have made a classic Victoria sponge for her for the day and we are in a blur of bunting you'll be reassured to know Fleecy. She is having a birthday tea at the weekend, with her little group of friends....awwww....I have had to succumb to Sylvanian Families...a licence to print money if ever there was one Hmm

notyummy · 17/08/2011 15:20

Thankfully DD has never discovered said family....

In fact she is remarkably low maintenance when it comes to toys and rarely asks for anything. Although she can be annoying in many other ways!

(I realise that when she shortly becomes a consumer monster and hands me the Argos catalogue festooned with post-it notes you are all to laugh hollowly at my statement above Grin)

Love the sound of the Victoria Sponge.

That's interesting notyummy. DD1 is actually similar, in that respect, and does have to be 'pushed' to state what she would like...whereas DS (eldest) is frequently saying, 'I want that'...(aherm)...to just about everything Hmm I do not like 'said family' though. They are a bit er, ugly! Particularly the Meerkat family I find Grin

MarshaBrady · 17/08/2011 17:37

Blond!.. Party at owner's house in Italy. Son of owner of Loro Piana.

Dolce you are right. I am now officially saving up for the boots. I still feel all light and dizzy when I think about doing a big Loro shop and taking a taxi home because the bags are too heavy (they are huge bags).

Amber I completely agree about London. I felt totally uplifted again when floating around Mayfair. Was nice to push the images of the riots out of my mind.

Carciofi hope you are ok.

Fritzi great news re the mini!

PlumSykes · 17/08/2011 18:16

Seven bikinis tried, seven bikinis already on their way back to their retailers. Will be spending holiday in the old lady one-piece I wear to take DS swimming at this rate.

Blond, figleaves are great for swimwear. So many styles, brands etc.

blossoming · 17/08/2011 19:11

Hope you're okay carciofi. And you're not to berate yourself for looking forward to your dd1 going to nursery. I don't know how you cope on your own as it is.

blondassassin, I recommend simplybeach.com for a great selection. My seafolly one would suit you as I'm athletic shaped and it gives great curves.

Happy birthday to everyone chez dolcee!

We are out to dinner, although dh has taken dcs to the swings mid meal. Still, more wine for me.
On that note, tomorrow we're off ti Chateauneuf du Pape. Dh is driving Wink.

AntPants1 · 17/08/2011 19:42

Sorry to hear all is a bit tough at the moment carciofi

I love accessories!

pickled so pleased about bag

frizi am very envious of mini. My old banger is falling apart but not worth replacing until my DC have moved beyond rubbing biscuits into the upholstery and spilling Ribena everywhere!

AntPants1 · 17/08/2011 19:59

Amber have just ordered Boden belt for myself! It's in today's outfit offer so 20% off. What was I to do!! This Cardigan also fell into my bag I tell you!

Ambernj1 · 17/08/2011 20:18

Ooh Ants love that Boden belt - would go v well with my new skinny cords which I bought today!

Been v proactive today and have started my Christmas shopping - Thomas wooden railway stuff is half price in the Entertainer so bought half the shop. DS loves it and his birthday is 30th Dec too.

fritzi I too bought a Mini today, though sadly it was a toy one from Poundland to keep DS on side (I know bad mummy!)

carciofi · 17/08/2011 20:55

NY, lovely skirt. I went topless years ago and got badly sunburnt. My friends thought it was hilarious, me, not so much. Blush

Fritzi, you really made me laugh with the Me and Em captions! I love minis, apparently it was my first word. My mother used to drive one.

Amber, I find 6-7.30pm the worst time of the day. I like the cords.

Ants, I also like your cardigan and belt.

The nurse said that I have to go to the walk in clinic at the hospital as they have had too many returns from the lab. I will never get around to doing that so bought vitamins and Goldsign misfits instead. The sales assistant told me they would look better when I lose 5lb, way to make me feel good!! Now really really broke and have to do some serious ebaying.

Dolcee, hope your DD has a very happy birthday and I forgot to say welcome back. My DD is currently obsessed with Minnie Mouse.

I saw the J Brand jodhpurs in Grazia but not sure I can bring myself to wear them when not on a horse!

Got to go tidy up and make some dinner.

carciofi · 17/08/2011 21:03

Wow to Loro Piana boots, Marsha! I went in to one of their shops when we were on holiday in Italy a few years ago, drawn in like a moth to a flame by the sale sign. I picked up a beautiful cashmere sweater, marked 40 euro, so I hotfooted it over to buy it. That was the size and the cost was a couple of hundred. I left in a hurry!

AntPants1 · 17/08/2011 21:44

carciofi can you get some blood tests done by your GP instead?

carciofi · 17/08/2011 22:13

Hi Ants, I was at the GP's surgery this morning, she had booked me in for tests there, so unfortunately not. It is probably just tiredness/low iron.

FritziGreenEyes · 18/08/2011 07:43

carciofi Please take care of yourself and get blood test done asap if iron and multivit supplement don't help.

DH is taking DD to school today so I am going to browse the Mary Portas collection now with another cup of tea.

Have lovely days everyone!

FritziGreenEyes · 18/08/2011 07:47

Sorry, that link was rubbish. Think it's not available yet. Some outfits here.

notyummy · 18/08/2011 07:55

It may not be the coolest mag in the world, but Easy Living had a great section this month with 50 under £50 best buys from the new season on the high street. Lovely spotty dress from Monsoon, and an equestrian print one from H and M. Don't think many of the clothes are actually in stores yet, as I had a look last night and couldnt see them.

OllieinOrange · 18/08/2011 08:19

Sat in car waiting for hairdressers appointment! Good article on MP collection, sounds promising. Liked the blue dress.

No link to poncho yet, they were new in, i grabbed one as sales assistant unpacked box! Its grey chunky cable knit, waist length with a roll neck, perfect! Also picked up a stone coloured silk fronted cardi, simple but nice.

Fritzi what colour mini did u get? Great cars.
blondeassasin great name change! Do join us at the meet up in oct?

Back later, time to cover up my ever increasing grey bits!

wideawakenurse · 18/08/2011 08:25

Quick post as DS wants a story.

Carciofi, can you call the GP and explain your circumstances, ie small baby plus DD. If they feel you need bloods doing, then they should make an exception and do your bloods in the surgery. It's worth a try.

Back later.

PlumSykes · 18/08/2011 08:37

I'm being MOT-ed today too, Ollie. Hair, mani-pedi, wax. Must be presentable for holiday, even if I'm bikini-less.

dolceebanana · 18/08/2011 09:40

Oh enjoy the chateauneuf tastings Bloss...have very fond memories of doing the same in the area where we got engaged...

I need an MOT Plum...have a nice relaxing day.

Thank you for the birthday wishes...off to a NT house for the day....

FritziGreenEyes · 18/08/2011 09:46

plum especially when you are bikini-less Wink

notyummy · 18/08/2011 10:17

Ooh yes - waxing particularly important then!

OP posts:
blossoming · 18/08/2011 11:52

Wine, hic

notyummy · 18/08/2011 12:03

Is it wine o'clock already Bloss? Grin How's that Chateau?

OP posts:
rufus101 · 18/08/2011 12:15

LOL here at so many of the posts! At Bloss with her swimsuit malfunction! Bet all the men were eagerly awaiting a repeat performance the next day! Am very envious of your trip to C du P, especially if DH is driving!
Also lol at Plum bikini less! And Fitzi your description of the models on the web site was bang on! You guys really brighten my day! Thankfully DD never got into the Sylvanian families either. I don't get the attraction.
Carciofi get your bloods done. You never know, your thyroid could be off. It's very very common post baby.
OIO I got s lovely j crew sweater on NAP that is poncho like. Can't link on phone (would have to be NY to do that!) , but will later. Don't think I will make meet up, as I am at a conference in Bristol on the Thursday and Friday. Any good shopping there?
2 days to wedding. Everyone sorted except for DH. Can you believe he appears to have "lost" his lovely Hackett suit that he bought in January? Believe me, this is not unusual! Has no idea where it could be. Checked usual dry cleaners and nada! Only discovered this yesterday when he took off the plastic covering from the newly dry cleaned "Hackett" suit and commented "gosh I thought that suit looked different". Me - "that's NOT your Hackett suit". So he has been dispatched to get s new suit today! Good luck to him. No idea where it is. (am wondering if the cleaner is nicking stuff. Am missing a few tops, including a black cashmere polo. And I do not mislay ANYTHING! Well clothes anyway!) Will keep you updated. (as its so interesting. I'm sure you are all riveted!)
