Evening all!

Morning all. Struggling to find the love for being back to the grind today. 6am run (ouch) and am now sitting on train to Sheffield eating a packed breakfast of muesli with a large Costa coffee. Wearing wool khaki coloured peg leg trousers with blue silk blouse and navy Mango blazer, plus wooden Zara heels (def my purchase of the summer- have had so much wear!)

WAN- DH and I also go through stages of bickering so I know how it is. We had a snipe at each other at 650 this AM when I returned from my run and found him in 'my' shower (we have two and the one he was using gas all my products in it...) He knew I had 10 mins to gave a shower and get out of the house, and he had told me the night before that he wouldn't be getting up until 7 so the shower should not have been occupied!! Grr.

Marsha- Venue looks amazing. Well done to Emo for finding it. Between her and Choo we have our very own 3am girls!

OMG ladies. Just browsing this weeks Grazia (sooooo much more fun than the economic briefing I SHOULD be reading....) and blow me down if the M and S orange cocoon coat I linked to yesterday isn't there on P29. Am feeling oddly smug - like I have gained some non-existent fashionista point.

Obviously that should be [sad git] Blush. My guts are fine....

Quick back to school question: Where do you buy lunch bags/boxes for your DCs?

ApuskiDusky · 07/09/2011 10:29

Morning!

I am feeling a bit better this morning, still got too much to do and ds1 is still watching CBeebies, but I am no longer collapsed on the sofa. I've had to postpone ds1's visit to his new preschool until tomorrow, when DH will have to take him, as it'll be my first day in the new job (eek!).

Clevery, I ordered those low purple Chie Mihara shoes that you linked to and they've arrived already - and are lovely! I am going to plan my work outfit for tomorrow around them. Still in dilemmas about what tights with purple shoes, so I will have to do some trying on.

Lather, welcome - and I love that navy CdC top - I'm looking forward to my weekend in Bath so that I can try on half the shop.

Reine, hello lovely, hope things calm down for you soon - looking forward to seeing you on the 8th.

Bloss, I am picturing you in tweed Davina today, bet you look fabulous.

WAN, you have a crazy amount going on, I hope you start getting lots of viewings very soon. I just turned down our first offer this morning - from one of our neighbours! I reckon they have heard that we are moving out (haven't told the EA yet) and thought they could try a cheeky offer. But we're not that desperate (yet!). I'm keeping the magical effect of Ollie's shortbread in reserve!

OllieinOrange · 07/09/2011 11:00

Fritzi John Lewis do a few - like the Cath Kidon ones here

Whole range here

Amazon has lots too - search for the Tyrell Katz ones - v nice.

MarshaBrady · 07/09/2011 11:10

WAN sorry! I have pm'd you. Fab you can make it Smile. Everyone welcome of course, let me know if you'd like to come. Back in a bit...

Emo76 · 07/09/2011 11:24

just popping in to say hi and that I am at desk craving shortbread thanks to all the talk of it...!

Hi annie, I'm ok thanks - will be better in about two weeks when things have settled down! I'm going to be working 4 days a week, and the contract at the moment is until Christmas. It's bizarre, I didn't think I missed work, but my mood has lifted so much since I was offered the job (says she not actually having started yet!).

MarshaBrady · 07/09/2011 11:47

Ach booking our venue has that minimum spend business (£25). Which is a massive pita.

I say we wing it, I can go early and sit with 10 jumpers on chairs Grin.

If people would prefer it was booked let me know.

FritziGreenEyes · 07/09/2011 11:58

Thans ollie, will order pronto!

carciofi · 07/09/2011 15:14

Wan, I feel your pain, we have no family here and DH works long hours.

Welcome back NY. DH had an interview in Geneva a couple of years ago and I was very disappointed when he didn't get the job.

Red, good things happen in threes! Great news about the job and nursery place.

Apuski, good luck with the new job. DH and I were talking about me going back in a year or so (if I can get a job after being a sahm for four years, of course!), I told him I am well on for it and could go to the loo ON MY OWN!

Lather, I like the CdeC top.

Reine, sorry about the funeral.

Marsha, got your pm, thanks. Unfortunately I'll be doing well if I get there in the afternoon, let alone the evening.

Bloss, I am sure you look divine in your Davina! I'd like this black sweater, this in cherry, the silk shirt in rose. I can't see the merino polonecks?

Just ordered the North Face parka (best price is from here if anyone is looking for one so feeling a bit poor and the Pure Collection wishlist will have to wait. However, trying to decide whether to get the LK Bennett pink leopard top or is it a bit loud?

The baby fell asleep so I went into Question Air and tried on these Current Elliot cords, so thinking of ordering them from the US and ebaying more in the meantime to fund them. Also found the perfect skinny jeans by Hudson, luckily the baby woke at that point so I had to leave.

carciofi · 07/09/2011 15:16

This is the LK Bennett top, btw. Not sure if I have discount code goggles.

wideawakenurse · 07/09/2011 15:44

Thanks for the PM marsha. I'd say wing it too, crazy chick/living on the edge type of gal that I am. Grin

Nice links carciofi, especially the rose shirt. Good that you have finally ordered the parka. I am very ashamed to say that I regret the color of my Barbour Cameron. I bought it in a haze of needing a waterproof warm coat, and so bought the rustic color. I so, so wish I had it in black like Bloss.

Apuski Cheeky neighbours! Good to be getting a offer though, lets hope you get something a little more considerable soon. Glad you are feeling better though.

I am in love with this scarf. Potential christmas gift, I hope!

PORTIA4 · 07/09/2011 15:48

Hi All, am loving the great links, the LR links are fab, but we can't get it delivered to Ireland!
The weather here is really cold and wet and so today am back in black opaques with Tods flats, a P8 black/grey tunic dress and a pinkish DKNY cosy(Does the cosy qualify as a waterfall cardigan?!)
DD2 is finding it tough in France but it's early days yet. Bonsoir to answer your questions, she doesn't normally board but did so for one year when she was 12 to learn Irish, so she's ok with that. This is something that we have organised ourselves(not her school) she will stay in France for the academic year and then return to our equivalent of the lower 6th.
Lots of camel and taupe colours in France, the only thing I bought is a pair of Prada kitten heels in black to wear with everything! I am trying to wear what I have and stop impulse buying!
Marsha can you pm me about the meet up, thanks.

dolceebanana · 07/09/2011 16:21

Afternoon.

Weather cold and wet, (although not raining at this precise moment), here too Portia...so am wearing cashmere and skinny cords. Oh and Barbour-good ole Barbour. DCs preoccupied with watching 'Finding Nemo' as they are all exhausted little souls. DS and DD1 had PE today in the wind on the school field today (excellent!). Its DD1s first week at school and she looks picture perfect in grey pinafore and grey socks and black mary janes...Have been somewhat preoccupied too - we exchanged on the house today - yeeeeha! Completion end of the week, but sols already have the dosh so good as done! Now have to appoint architects as we have massive amount of work to do.

Wrap brochure arrived today and do like a lot of their stuff...some groovy velvet dresses, slinky evening cardi's and most wonderful sheer blouses etc.

Like the coat Carciofi. Still like the Barbour one too. Hmmmm.

MarshaBrady · 07/09/2011 16:29

Congratulations on house Dolce. Fantastic news.

Portia sorry, your 4 fell off. I have sent a pm.

blossoming · 07/09/2011 16:46

Well done dolcee. Your dd sounds gorgeous. Mine has been wearing her summer denim shorts from Boden, the ones with heart on the pocket, with spotty tights underneath. She is a complete ragamuffin though, no matter what I do with her!
apuski, I finished work at 2.30 so could collect ds from school gate today. Saw my bil and he said omg bloss you are beaming! Yup, really glad to be back at work!
Good luck tomorrow. Hope you've sorted your wardrobe!
Davina was divine. Felt great in it. Had many compliments. Wore with opaques and flats, but the pewter and black r&b's are the same colour as tweed, so it worked well. With lipglass in pop mode. Shame about the wide screen. Can't do anything about that though!
Very strange indeed teaching to a tv. I'll get used to it though I'm sure.
Forgotten what else I meant to say, and kids running riot. Thank you all for your good wishes though.

Bonsoir · 07/09/2011 16:51

Portia - thanks for filling me in and good luck to your DD2 - I think she is very brave!

dolceebanana · 07/09/2011 16:56

Sorry! Yes, well done Bloss. Bet you looked absolutely divine too! Outfit sounds fab. So glad you are enjoying work. Your DD is a cutie! Hows DS these days...mine still rather dramatic - but inducements work to help his behaviour I find! He has a rather unfortunate way of saying, 'For Heaven's sake!', and he's only 5!!!! Good grief, oh, yeah, he says that too Blush

Ambernj1 · 07/09/2011 17:33

Hello all

smugly wearing my size 10 pre-dcs jeans today, with the marantalike (which is cream by the way annie), black biker boots and the red version of the LV 'inspired' scarf being raved about on another thread (actually have the genuine article too but save it for best :) ). Wearing my Barbour quilted trench due to the inclement weather.

Made ollie's shortbread today with a train cutter, marketing them as Thomas biscuits to DS. Needless to say I don't ahve high hopes for my size 10 longevity!

Great links LRR - love the WS scarf!

carciofi I love that top, you should definitely get it. I am sad because I spent my Barbour eBay fund on the DCs - need to get started again, sigh. I too have a long Pure wishlist after the damn catalogue came!

Anyone looking for good quality bargain cashmere head over to uniqlo, it is on offer online until Sunday!

Really fancy a sloppy joe jumper dress from Hush, think it must be the weather...

latherrinserepeat · 07/09/2011 17:41

Went back for the white stuff scarf today and it's out of stock in my store and online Sad so shall have to wait a bit. Tried on the CdeC top and love it although is cool toned navy so will wait as trying to be colour-wise. Is lovely detail for a tee shirt type top tho and they do have lots of other tempting things in. Am v keen on the Hobbs quilted coat tho - thanks for the links to the others esp from WAN but the cut of the Hobbs one is perfect for me having tried it and my budget doesn't stretch to a Cameron.

Noticed Gap are getting some of their cashmere in and there is a 30% coupon coming up in the next day or so. This was nice www.gap.eu/browse/product.do?cid=57361&vid=1&pid=846449 [hopes it's not a dreaded waterfall Grin ]
