Evening all!

OP posts:
Ambernj1 · 31/08/2011 08:38

Morning all!

florence I think Louboutin do sizes that small... :) I too like the second pair.

Have borrowed inspiration from yesterday and am wearing cream and plum Breton, black Agnes, nude TS ballerinas and orange leopard print Marc Jacobs scarf. Definite improvement on hoodie and leggings combo of yesterday!

DS doing jewel tones for autumn in emerald green dinosaur jumper.

FritziGreenEyes · 31/08/2011 08:45

Morning all!

amber Great outfit but don't forget to put on a cardi or coat. It is cold, brrr....

Today I am wearing Goldsign jeans, white plimsolls, white Petit Bateau T-shirt (with vest underneath) and Zara marl grey jersey blazer. Plus aviator sunnies and star print scarf.

florence Another vote for boots #2

bonsoir I love the Elias & Grace website! The lookbook for summer was fantastic and great inspiration for some of DD's outfits.

happilyeverafter · 31/08/2011 09:08

Nice blazer Fritzi, Amber your scarf sounds divine.

Another vote for 2nd boots Florence.

I'm wearing navy sleeveless jersey pussybow blouse tucked into black highwaisted wool trousers, black wool cardi, navy studded suede ballet flats and last years boden leopard belt.

Dd is wearing a variety of clothes that do not fit her as she found the ebay bag and became nostalgic about her old stuff. I didnt have the heart to disrobe her so packed her off to grandparents looked very odd indeed.

Ambernj1 · 31/08/2011 09:21

OMG - just gone past matches window and have fallen in love! Good thing they weren't open or we would all have een inhaling the scent of melting plastic. Off to rob a bank beg my mum for more knitting favours!

happily thanks! 'Twas only 50 squid here - would look good with that Marant jumper...

fritzi I am indeed without cardi and regretting it!

Bonsoir · 31/08/2011 09:43

Fritzi - agree that the Elias & Grace look book is very useful and inspirational - the site is big on some brands I buy anyway (Bonton, Pepe, Kanel, Petit Bateau, Dore Dore) and is very "me". They've even got mini-Marni this season (not that DD will be being dressed in mini-Marni, I hasten to add!).

Sad about the gold skirt, Marsha.

OllieinOrange · 31/08/2011 10:38

Think I have finally found a decent seamstress so am going to take the grey printed Great Plains dress in to see if she can take it in around the chest. She doesn't speak any English so I will have to ask DH what " can you make this dress less billowy" is in Dutch! Maybe I can wear it to the meet up if it turns out ok?

No S&B action for me for a while until my London trip - unless you count the 2 pairs of snow boots I have just ordered for DSs (not getting caught out again like last year!)

Bonsoir just looked at Elias & Grace - utterly lovely! I like the Babyccino Kids blog & website for inspiration too - not that DSs like anything other than surf shorts and t's a la Boden.....

Does anyone else like watching The Great British Bake on BBC2 - I am loving it. DH and I were armchair experts last night!

florenceuk · 31/08/2011 11:26

I love GBBO! DS likes Rob and Jason, and DD likes Holly and Jo. Luckily I think they all survived last night.

blossoming · 31/08/2011 11:48

Today dd is wearing dark pink stripe pointelle long sleeve under indigo monsoon pinafore and the most gorgeous Boden stripy tights in coordinating colours. She is carrying the stylish flag today!

I haven't put too much weight on. Portia's capris still fit although haven't tried the black dress yet. Panic the other day was pmt related.

Inspired by marsha, there is coq au vin in the oven. Will make up for the last fortnight of pasta plus jar of sauce!

dolceebanana · 31/08/2011 14:14

Hello ladies...

Well, am bundled under a load of Cash's name tags...sewing in a seemingly never ending supply into DS and DD1s new school clothes.

Welcome back Bloss...DDs outfit sounds gorgeous. Yes, it is time to get back into tights and all things autumnal isn't it? Good.

Carciofi - and mrscb, I love C des C too. And Carciofi - did you order the mulberry yet? Oh and DD sounds sooo cute. Love it when they do things like that.

Fritzi - DD will be fine I'm sure. But it is natural to worry when you care.

Bonsoir - too cute.

Marsha/Bloss - Coq au Vin a real fave here, too.

DHs birthday yesterday. In lieu of birthday cake (which I confess we have all grown bored of, due to the family birthday-fest in our house), I made him Tarte Tatin which went down v well. DCs suitably delighted. To go with Lamb Provencale and a nice bottle of Crozes Hermitage. Bless him, was very pleased.

blossoming · 31/08/2011 14:33

Mmm dolcee, that sounds delicious. Can you come over and cook for us?

carciofi, that is seriously lovely. Much better than the 'don't want that', scream, food, cutlery on floor. Which is the stage my dd is in!

blossoming · 31/08/2011 14:35

Oh, and sorry, I know you've probably done this to death, but what boots are we wearing this year?

dolceebanana · 31/08/2011 15:24

I think your DH might miss his own home cooking! So nice to know that DD2 is not on her own in her, aherm, little strops, Bloss Grin

OllieinOrange · 31/08/2011 15:45

Boots - hmmmm.
Think I shall be wearing the Kew biker boots a lot (in black and brown) and also these here which I have in brown and wore to death last winter. I also have the beige suede wedges ones similar to Fritzi's Esprit ones.
Am looking out for some new grey boots - and possibly some snow boots (figured if I got some, there would be NO snow this year!)

Dutch ladies have declared Autumn and the long boots, leather jackets and even some down coats are now out in force! Im a bit like like my Mum and the central heating - I refuse to wear boots until at least October!

OllieinOrange · 31/08/2011 15:50

Florence RE GBBO - I like Holly too - she seems very genuine. I love the lady from Liverpool too - she obviously is not one of the strongest bakers but I love her "oh well" attitude. Paul Hollywood is being really tough this year but Mel and Sue do a great job of bringing him down a peg or two!

Talking of bakers - I found this raspberry cheesecake recipe on the BBC Good Food website here - seems very easy and has great reviews. Worth a try I think.

blossoming · 31/08/2011 16:38

Ooh, ollie, I have made that cheesecake loads of time: one of my in-law entertaining specials (probably coincided with the time I moved here and gained a stone). It is delicious.

I like those Kew boots ollie. I don't want suede. Did you all see the Times today? Page 3. Appalling summer weather story? 98mm of rain in one 24h period in my lovely 'suede not appropriate' part of North Wales??

blossoming · 31/08/2011 17:14

Has anyone tried Duo boots? Remember I need hard wearing. Something like these? for the rough terrain between house and town.

carciofi · 31/08/2011 17:51

Lots of good cooking going on!

Dolcee, how do you make lamb provencale? I haven't bought the bag as I blew all the money DH gave me (but it was fun while it lasted) so now back to saving, ebaying and looking down the back of the sofa for money for what I want! I want to buy the north face parka first and then a couple of things from Pure.

Bloss, I am sure the baby will be at that stage before I know it. Your DD sounds very stylish. I bought this dress for DD1, very cute.

Those Kew and Duo boots look good. Bloss, have you ever tried Frye Campus? I have a pair that are years old, they are great boots. I like the dark red CdeC boots but have loads, so cannot justify buying new boots (not that this stops me really). I do needwant black hunters though.

blossoming · 31/08/2011 18:27

That is really cute carciofi.

I read the Duo reviews and they weren't very good, bits falling off, needing lots of repairs etc. But I did well didn't I? Looking somewhere apart from R&B??

I need black boots and I think the Fryes are brown aren't they? I want to wear my black skinnies and they didn't work with the boots I had last winter.

Result, my dress fits. With spanx half slip. Which I was planning on wearing tomorrow anyway Wink

redllamayellowllama · 31/08/2011 19:10

Some more lovely sounding outfits today. I made more of an effort with black skinny Nudies, a light purple cable knit jumper, white swallow-print scarf and Jalouse. We had a lovely day at @ Bristol - a big Science museum where DS had the time of his life at a Shaun the Sheep sports day complete with pig modelling, flinging wellies at a farmer, hunting for eggs underneath chickens etc etc. Lovely.

Very cute Carciofi - I'm hankering after that stage a bit. DD is becoming a bit of a diva, but, more worryingly, a complete spider monkey. Today she flung herself from the buggy in the second I turned before strapping her in, giving herself a lovely egg on the forehead and then, whilst out for lunch, she stuck her hand in my soup. Cue much screaming and dipping of hand in iced water and looks from fellow diners. Blush and Blush. A week ago, these things would never have happened!

Bloss, DD has quite the wardrobe there! I'm jealous. How are you feeling about tomorrow? DH has just taken himself off for a bike ride; is quite nervous, I think.

Dolcee lamb provencale sounds delicious.

I have some R&B riding boots in brown and black (the brown have a buckle at the top and are weathered, whilst the black are a bit more glossy with gold detailing at the ankle - a new purchase), Gap black bikers, heavy-duty ish calf-length laced pair and my Clarks Yarras. I cannot possibly buy another pair!

OllieinOrange · 31/08/2011 19:10

Bloss how chunky do you need them? Do you like these LK Bennett ones?
here, bit exxy tho?

OllieinOrange · 31/08/2011 19:13

These M&S ones are nice too? here
(Am sitting waiting for chicken breasts stuffed wth goats cheesed, wrapped in bacon in a tomato sauce to cook)

carciofi · 31/08/2011 19:22

Bloss, I do commend you in looking elsewhere but R&B will never let you down! Well, apart from the price. I am on my third pair of black knee high boots from there, every time the zip starts to go or something, the manager at Westfield gives me a new pair! Frye campus come in black also but wow, they are expensive here. I bought mine in the good ole US of A.

Red, pig modelling!

carciofi · 31/08/2011 19:23

Ollie, sounds delicious, I am having a tuna sandwich. Envy
At least the bread is homemade.

carciofi · 31/08/2011 19:29

Bloss, do you start tomorrow? Good luck!

redllamayellowllama · 31/08/2011 19:33

Modelling with plasticine, as opposed to dressing up like pigs and strutting down a catwalk! Was all sponsored by Aardman, so the set and stuff were amazing.
