Evening all!

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 31/08/2011 19:55

Have a great start tomorrow bloss and mrred!

Met friend for lunch today and it was so warm we could sit outside. Lovely pasta and the Italian owner of the restaurant sat outside strumming his guitar and sipping red wine when everyone had their meals served. I was torn between Smile and Hmm.

Think I'm getting hungry again with all this talk about lovely dinners!

The R&B black riding boots are lovely!

IceCreamCastles · 31/08/2011 20:04

That sounds brilliant red - it's good that you're finding lots to do in Bristol. Have the children settled in well?

Beautiful children's clothes Bonsoir, Bloss and carciofi. DD has some lovely stuff in her wardrobe that never gets worn as she is soooo messy! Glad we're coming up to tights season though - she looks gorgeous in them.

Oooh - I love boots Smile. And like all the ones that have been linked to. What do people think goes better with blue jeans though - black or brown? I think I'm veering towards black this year although in the past I have always preferred brown. Tricky.

I'd love some belstaff trailmasters but they are too pricey and I seem cursed to keep missing them every time they are on the outnet.

When is your interview pickled? Apple developer sounds v exciting -I will have to chat with you at meet up about Apps I need for work! They are quite hard work to write aren't they?

Good luck tomorrow Bloss and Red's DH! We're not back until next week which is lucky as I have hardly done any preparation yet Blush

rufus101 · 31/08/2011 21:00

Hi all. Back to school tomorrow for my lot! I have also been doing the name tags here! However mine are iron on Dolcee thankfully, which are fantastic and I can assure you last the whole year and beyond!from here and very cheap!
I was so Sad reading about the DC playing on their own. I was the same about DD when she started, but as I have some chums who do yard duty, they were able to assure me that she most certainly was not on her own! DS used to say the same last year, however DD would contradict him saying "no you weren't. I saw you playing with so and so"! However it makes me well up to think of them being isolated in any way.
I am back in my tights since yesterday, and unless something dramatic with the weather occurs, will not be out of them again till next year. (now that is depressing)
Good luck tomorrow Bloss. I am sure you will look stunning as always. We can be Pop Mode twins!
Re boots, can you all help me make up my mind? these wedge ones from Ash? or these skull ones from Ash? I am veering towards the wedges, as I have a pair of distressed suede from Kurt Geiger, which sort of fill the cuban heel cowboy gap! Also I am loving this Acne dress which I can imagine with the wedges, however the back puts me off. I have to wear a bra, as I'm so flat chested, and need something to balance out the hips.

I am so with you on the Frye Campus Carciofi. I love them. I bought a pair online last year, and I know I will have them for years. Mine were on sale, via the US Anthropologie site, so not as £££. They had loads of them on sale at this time last year on Javari.co.uk and I dithered and lo and behold, the prices all went up again! For the same boots! And they haven't been on sale since. BTW, why are you going for the North Face parka, rather than the Barbour? (I am dithering also between the two. Need guidance)
Ollie between the cheescake and the chicken breasts stuffed with goat's cheese I am drooling. Not fair.
Sounds like a great day Red and great outfit too.

OllieinOrange · 31/08/2011 21:05

icey i go with both brown and black depending what colours i am wearing on my top half!
fritzi and red your days sounded lovely. You sound so at home in Bristol red.
DH off on his week long sailing trip on Friday evening. Im trying to keep my feelings of Envy at bay! At least the weather forecast here looks promising.

FritziGreenEyes · 31/08/2011 21:23

ollie I never managed to buy those Esprit boots as they were sold out online and not available in the shop. I need to find another pair soon as my feet are starting to get cold in ballet flats and plimsolls.

That sounds so much fun cleverything!

Thank you everyone. You are so supportive. I feel sick with nerves!
But I am ready. Pedicure, manicure done. Outfit sorted. Pasta salad and snacks ready. Pencil case ready. And books in bag.
Teacher training for two days though. S@&t will hit the fan Monday!

Ooh I'm so excited for you bloss! Hope you have a good day.

That does sound like fun cleverything. Should be pretty informative too. Are you going with a friend or braving it alone?

Have done some eBay listing tonight to add to the boots moving house fund. It always amazes me how quickly people find certain listings. Like they're just sitting there waiting to pounce!

ApuskiDusky · 31/08/2011 22:44

Bloss, you'll knock em dead, wishing you all the best. And the same to your DH, Red!

Haven't had the best of days today, but tomorrow will be better - we pick up the keys to the rental house and can start working out where to put things (and DH gets to see inside for the first time!). Nanny hired, work contracts signed, viewing on our house tomorrow. No clothes bought, despite putting in some time looking through the Flannels sale - man that site is annoyingly slow.

Mumsnut · 31/08/2011 22:54

Pure Collection, 25% off everything + free delivery and returns courtesy of House & Garden mag.

Code for on-line orders is HGW111

redllamayellowllama · 31/08/2011 22:55

Oh Bloss so excited for you - you'll be brilliant.

Clevery that does sound like a lot of fun. Is style categorised in the same way that colours are? Is all very interesting.

Sounds like a lovely day Fritzi - I always find myself giggling uncontrollably when faced with musical performances in such a setting!

I do feel settled Icey and Ollie, but know that the next 6 weeks will be very different to the last 6 weeks, without DH around. I do love Bristol and all it has to offer though. I feel like we have made the right decision for us. I do hope it ends up being the same for you, Apuski, and that tomorrow is full of excitement for you.

wideawakenurse · 01/09/2011 08:05

Good luck for school returners today.

Big good luck for red and bloss. Bloss, you sounds ultra in control as ever. You are an inspiration.

apuski you have been busy. Fingers crossed for the viewing.

I am a bit down in the dumps. I think it's just a combination of trying sell this house, first trimester exhaustion and feeling overwhelmed with work at the moment. I am struggling to get the basics done unless I am stay late most days, which when a) I am knackered and b) I don't get paid for it is not very appealing.

Also DH and I still are not getting on great. He seems to be in a mood all the time with me at the moment, and we just don't feel very close at the moment. He denies it all, but I can just feel it, if you know what I mean. He is certainly not the most sympathetic person in relation to pregnancy tiredness either.

Anyway, that's my moan...sorry for being a misery. I am taking DS swimming this am, so totally style devoid morning.

OllieinOrange · 01/09/2011 08:33

Bloss lots of luck this morning. Am very excited for you.
WAN sorry that you are feeling the way you do. Sounds like you have a lot going on and its getting on top of you. I find that DH's mood seems to reflect whatever mine is so if I am tired or stressed, he then becomes grumpy or irritable - so maybe thats what happened with your DH? Pregnancy tiredness is horrible and remember that you have all those hormones rushing around your body so of course its going to impact on your mood - the feeling of being overwhelmed is perfectly natural. Can you sort something out at work to take the pressure off? Easier said than done I know. You need something to look forward to - how about an afternoon tea with 18 lovely ladies Smile
Maybe Pickled will be along in a moment - she always has such wise, calming words. Over to you Pickled....?

FritziGreenEyes · 01/09/2011 08:41

wan Sounds like you have a lot to deal with at the moment. Could you create some time with DH when just the two of you can relax and not talk about house/work/children? Maybe just cook a nice meal at home and watch a DVD together? Probably easier said than done...

mrscb mentioned this navy feather skirt on another thread the other day. Wish I was 20 years younger . On that note: Went to see the doctors yesterday and she mentioned casually that my problems could be related to early menopause shock shock shock

FritziGreenEyes · 01/09/2011 08:42

ollie x-post. We even used the same phrase in our post Smile

pickledsiblings · 01/09/2011 08:43

WAN, I'm not surprised you are feeling down, you have such a lot to think about at the moment. Just coping with your DS's allergies must be quite exhausting and that's not even on your list of gripes. My advice is to try and make amends with DH as I am sure he'll be able to reassure you with a big hug. Just tell him that you are not 'supermum'. Hope your day picks up Smile.

Bloss, the sun is shining here! Hope it's the same for you and you get your legs out. Have a great day. Will your Sister be there?

Mumsnut, thanks for the code info. I spent a while on the IO site the other day.

Red, hope you don't miss DH too much. Gosh, what a Summer you guys have had.

Apuski, you too have had a heck of a few weeks. Hope DH likes the rental on the inside then you can breathe a sigh of relief and concentrate on your work wardorbe in earnest Smile.

pickledsiblings · 01/09/2011 08:45

x posts Ollie and Fritzi Smile.

Emo76 · 01/09/2011 08:45

oooh mumsnut thank you for that Pure code

good luck to all back to workers/schoolers. DD1 doesn't go back until next Tuesday so the great name taping panic is saved for this weekend.

WAN I think tierdness plays a huge part in mood and relationships - if that is any comfort. Not your fault! Hopefully you'll perk up soon (and so will DH)

rufus I love that Acne dress - and gentle machine wash too, hurrah

fritzi gosh, what a shock indeed, I hope you get some answers. Love that skirt but would be indecently short on me and yes, probably for someone younger too!

today I have grey LKB dress, navy cardi, beige Gracie bag (attempting almost entirely non-black outfit!) Loving all the boots ideas for winter - even though I am already long my new CdC black wedges!

Bonsoir · 01/09/2011 10:22

Received parcel from Elias & Grace this morning - two very good, plain but stylish, blouses, one navy and one white, that are perfect school dress code wear without being dull/badly cut (it is so hard to find attractive clothes in navy blue) and a really lovely jeans skirt that is short but also slightly flared, which means DD will be able to run in it. Will look fab on her with boots and tights!

VerityBrulee · 01/09/2011 11:21

Just a quick post to say:

Good luck bloss

(((hugs))) to wan, fritzi and apuski

back later I hope

carciofi · 01/09/2011 11:43

Mumsnut, you little star, thanks for the Pure code!

Visions of pigs doing a turn on the catwalk did make me laugh, Red. I am easily amused.

Rufus, my fellow Frye fan, I decided on the NF as it is longer and I am tall, also I am not sure if the Barbour is waterproof and the NF one is. I walk a lot so want waterproof.

Wan, hope you are ok. I was very down in the dumps for the first few months of pregnancy.

Babysitter is coming later so I am going to Westfield, might go to One Day if I have time.

Bonsoir, I am envious of your daughter's wardrobe!

Apuski, good luck with the move.

Sorry, baby just woke.

carciofi · 01/09/2011 11:45

Gap 20% off and free delivery with the code PARTY

Mumsnut · 01/09/2011 12:37

That code works for Banana Republic too!

rufus101 · 01/09/2011 12:51

You poor thing Wan . Of course those pregnancy hormones are raging around and making you feel more vulnerable and sensitive. My DH was useless when I was pregnant. Think it wasn't till I was pregnant with DC3 that he finally got it ie the mood swings, the irrational teariness, the stockpiling of washing powder and loo roll! (don't ask, but let's just say, it was 2 years before I had to replenish stocks!)
CARCIOFI thanks for that. I'm the opposite! I think the ND would be too long on me! (short arse)
First day over for DS2. He was dying to go in, but still held my hand so tightly! Came out all smiles though!
