Oh, hope you're feeling better today ants.
Glad the jumpsuit is getting out fritzi.

FritziGreenEyes · 21/08/2011 09:12

ants Hope you feel better this morning after a good night's sleep!

AntPants1 · 21/08/2011 11:16

Thanks for your get well soons. Am really bad at being sick. Snappy and tricky I fear. Spent most of last night on the bathroom floor. It's stone!! But it was so lovely and cold and I felt sooo pathetic!!

bloss hangover food does not count!! I am sure there is a scientific study but food eaten when hungover does not break diet. There is a sub paragraph in the rules of life exempting it. I would look it up but feeling too pathetic.

WAN glad it has blown over with your DH. Remember you are carrying his child. I am sure there is a paragraph in the rules of life covering this too. Something about you being a goddess and your DH needing to jump to your every need!

I am making no sense............

AntPants1 · 21/08/2011 11:18

Oh and fritzi your Saturday night sounds much better than mine. Great to hear you were rocking the jumpsuit!!!

notyummy · 21/08/2011 14:56

ants - hope you feel much better soon!

Wan - sorry to hear about row with DH. We have fairly regular 'exchanges' although over the years we have worked out that he sulks and I explode and then snap out of it very quickly. I have learned to leave him alone to sulk, and he has learned not to push me in case he gets more than he bargained for Wink

Right, I am off to the Italian lakes and Switzerland! Will not be using internet at all due to huge data roaming charges, so will be off thread for 2 weeks. Enjoy the rest of the holidays and we 'see' you all soon. Smile

Life in the Notyummy house:

Me to DH last night: 'Thanks so much for doing all the packing.'

DH (Tongue firmly in cheek....): 'Thats ok, thanks so much for finding me all those things to pack...'

Have a lovely time NY

Emo76 · 21/08/2011 19:50

Happy hols NY - hope DD's CD collection is on board..!

LOL at the "hipster mums" in the Sun Times Style section today - they won't be quite so smug once their babies are on the move / toddlers...

Liked the long dresses in wardrobe mistress!

rufus101 · 21/08/2011 20:21

Sigh, back from DB's wedding. It was lovely, a fabulous weekend with nearest and dearest. You know the way you and sibs can talk/bitch about the same things and find them endlessly amusing? My DH also finds my dad's family utterly hilarious. He was sitting beside my aunt at dinner (70 retired teacher) and he politely asked her about her former job. She calmly said "no, I was a cleaner" and then went on to embellish it, saying she in fact worked as a "contract cleaner" etc. My DH didn't know what to say, and let her rattle on for a while and then said "no, hang on, I KNOW you were a teacher"! Bizarre, I know, but this is what passes for humour in my dad's family. And it's not as if they can blame alcohol! None of them drink! All slightly potty! DH always feels he comes away with yet another anecdote to entertain his unbelieving friends. My uncle (84!) was telling him how he told someone he that he was concerned he might need the swine flu jab, after having sex (he was joking!) while on holiday in his son's house in the States! You couldn't make it up! DH loves it!
Got minx gold wraps on my toes, and while this may sound totally blingtastic, it wasn't and looked very nice with my navy suede and patent Choos!
Am so sad it's all over, feel there's no big event to look forward to now, and plan satorially! Also felt emotional (and didn't expect to) seeing my DB getting married finally (at the ripe old age of 36!). We are all very close, and he was always such a lovely person, even as a child. Totally generous. Would definitely give you his last rolo! I can see my own DS is like that now, which is lovely.
This is the
j crew sweater which is poncho like I got OWW. I like it, although think very skinny is needed underneath to balance it out!

pickledsiblings · 21/08/2011 21:44

rufus, sounds like a really lovely wedding Smile. How nice that you hold your brother in such high esteem and that your DS reminds you of him. My DB, also a lovely chap, is coming for a visit in a few weeks - so looking forward to it.

NY, hope you enjoy Italy as much as we did.

Bloss, Envyious of you still on holiday.

Emo, sounds like you had a bit of a lazy day reading the papers at least. Take it easy Smile.

Carciofi, hopefully you'll regain some of your strength when DD1 starts nursery. Look after yourself.

Big wave to the rest of you and 'goodnight'.

carciofi · 22/08/2011 12:11

Rufus, glad you had a good time, your family sound like great craic!

Pickled, thanks and welcome back. It is sunny today so you can pretend you are still in Italy.

I am wearing my Me and em dress, though not copying the poses, Fritzi.Wink

Ants, hope you are feeling better and Wan, I hope your Dh was suitably aplogetic.

Red, gorgeous dress.

NY, have a great holiday!

Bloss, enjoy the croissants, you are on holiday. Plenty of time for healthy eating when you get home.

I cancelled the NF arctic parka order as I overspent Blush
but ebaying a few things now so planning to buy it again. Also looking at the Barbour. Which should I go for? The NF parka is a bit longer so maybe that would be better for me.

Also, I was about to list this gilet on ebay but DH thinks it is nice and stopped me. Not sure really and I only wear it a couple of times a year before it gets too warm/cold.

carciofi · 22/08/2011 12:11

Wan, hope he was apologetic not aplogetic!

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/08/2011 12:14

Carciofi - I tried the barbour parka on this weekend and really liked it but I am quite a bit shorter than you.

For a quilted coat though it was pretty streamlined and very warm.

Fashionfunkee86 · 22/08/2011 12:16

OllieinOrange · 22/08/2011 12:34

Oops - I have poncho'ed again....
This time in the window of a shop en route from school - I screeched to a halt (on bike), went in, tried on and purchased! Inspired by Rufus's link, its a poncho styled jumper - so has proper sleeves - like the Rowen one here but a darker bue in a lovely chunky knit. Love it.
Looks like poncho's are going to be my A/W not v practical signature look!

Back later.

OllieinOrange · 22/08/2011 12:35

In my excitment, I forgot the link 4th row down

AntPants1 · 22/08/2011 12:48

ltec what a wonderful treat..very swanky

am in a bit of a muddle..,is it ollie organising meetup..not sure who I need to pm

OllieinOrange · 22/08/2011 13:04

Reine - its me for now - am sorting out the afternoon tea bit anyway!

Does anyone want details of the hotel we used last time and which some of us are doing so again? PM me if so. If you want someone to share with too - please say and I can circulate a list. It may sound v weird (ie sharing with a sranger) but those of us that did it last time had a blast - plus it means more money for cupcakes and champers! Smile

BustyStClaire · 22/08/2011 13:31

Sorry Funkee, thats most hideous thing I have ever seen.

carciofi · 22/08/2011 13:59

Reine, thanks, I am taking vitamins now.

Ollie, great sweater!

Funkee, I'm not keen on that dress, sorry.

MrsCB, thanks, I will have to try and find the Barbour and see what it is like on. It is high time that My-Wardrobe gave us a discount code, which would help!

MarshaBrady · 22/08/2011 14:15

Carciofi I had to take quite a bit of iron during pregnancy. Can make one feel very tired if low. (Plus I had to be at a certain level for hb).

I am thinking about where to go in the evening, as is Emo and Ollie. Just need numbers, which I think Ollie is going to send me. Or should I just send a pm and see who is coming to evening bit. Ollie please advise Grin.

VerityBrulee · 22/08/2011 14:44

Ollie I love that you are turning into a serial pocho purchaser! I saw the navy sequin dress in Zara, I loved it but thought the quality looked a bit dodgy, it looked as if the sequins could come off easily. I am going to inspect more closely this week.

pickled so glad you found your bag and had a good holiday.

bloss hope you are having a lovely time Smile

rufus sounds like a great Irish wedding!

I have just purchased snowboots! I left it too late last year so taking no risks. I keep reading how this year will be worst than last Shock

Last week of hols here, it always goes so quickly Sad

Fashionfunkee86 · 22/08/2011 14:56
