Evening all!

Emo76 · 19/08/2011 07:59

mrsCB JCREW - the prices!! I agree. Feel ripped off and haven't even purchased anything!

OllieinOrange · 19/08/2011 08:25

Morning.

Rufus J Crew has some lovely knitwear doesn't it?
Marsha I know exactly what you mean about feeling disloyal with hairdressers - my hairdresser is a brilliant cutter but not as good a colourist (am currrently looking a tad too blonde for my liking) but I can't bring myself to go somewhere else for colour!
blondassassin I coveted a JM perfume for ages and when I finally got some and wore it, it didnt suit me at all - smelt v different on me. The shop assistant gave me a large sample of the Marc Jacobs one to try which is good.
I realised I never responded to your query about Maison Scotch sizing. I say they come up on the small size - but only cos I have just looked at the top I brought and found I brought a Size 3 which is large (am usually a 12!)
Red glad the work is going ok. Have you thought about what you are going to splurge on when you get paid for it?
LTEC hello! Your night away sounded lovely - what a great present idea. No idea about glamping capsule wardrobe - maybe the stripey Inwear top Smile

DS1 has made a new friend at school - the other boy only started this week having moved houses over the summer. DS1 wanted to invite him to his party next week so said yes and had a chat with his Mum and turns out she is English and very lovely! I nearly cried with joy - she is married to a Dutch guy too. Know it may sound strange but it was so nice to chat to someone in the same situation as me. There are quite a few expat mums at school but most of them work and speak fluent Dutch.

Oh yes, my hands no longer smell of yucky chocolate and are v smooth. Still a rip off tho!

OllieinOrange · 19/08/2011 08:56

Trailer for the One Day film - looks promising!

blossoming · 19/08/2011 08:59

Morning all!
ltec, definitely some ankle length trousers for the same reason ny said. In Italy in April I had a thin hanro vest under everything, cardigan, knitwear, big scarf, chunky socks a necessity for evening as there was no room for Uggs and if my feet are warm, I'm warm! and a parka. I wore shorts a lot, just with layers up top. Long sleeve tops probably good. Well done on getting the Reiss job, right up your street! And with staff discount..

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2011 09:01

Glad your hands are soft Ollie. Massages are my least favourite thing I have to remember to say no before they do anything.

Hair looks loads better this morning, too much rain + product made it darker last night. Aveda should sell nice umbrellas, swishy hair and advertising post salon.

I really want something in green. I am mooching in dh's American apparel green jumper and looks a good colour with new blonde.

VerityBrulee · 19/08/2011 14:41

Boys are out so I get my hands on the computer - yay! DD has a friend here, they are engrossed in Sylvania. I sometimes feel like a giant who lives in Sylvania we have so much of it, but rather that than Barbie, or worse still Bratz

carciofi I really feel for you, it is so hard with a baby and toddler when your dh works such long hours. As Emo says, hang on in there. I don't know anyone in your position who wouldn't be counting down the days until nursery starts. Could you get a babysitter in for a couple of hours so you can get you blood done? In the meantime, I find Vivioptal Active great and I take Solgar B vitamins which have an almost instant effect on my energy levels.

Fritzi Yes to the personal shopper in Galeries Lafayette Grin I love the sound of your mini, I am planning on either a navy blue mini or fiat 500 when I no longer need to drive a bus!

Ollie new mum at school sounds lovely, I hope she has a love of shopping, you could have fun when the boys are at school.

NY sounds like a great trip you are about to embark on. You are so right to book the blow dry!

Red how fab about the work, it's great to have something that you can fit in around dc. Sounds like you won't have any trouble spending in your new location.

Bloss holiday sounds fab, hope you have some happy memories this week Smile

Marsha I want something green too, after Annie declared me an Autumn! I love particular (olivy) shades of green, but it's a hard colour to buy online I think. One shade off and it could remind me of my school uniform

Which reminds me Annie have a fab time at the wedding, and you too Rufus

So I had a run around the shops the other day, I want almost everything in Sandro, particularly this hat and this dress both navy with balck leather trim. Also loved this Roaul skirt which is also navy and black, must be a mini-trend! I really love this Sandro navy coat it's very similar to the one I nabbed in the M Dutti sale. BTW, I saw they are selling online from Sept 6th.

I have also totally fallen for this Darel blazer, it's really slim fitting, and I love the neckline.

Now, I really need to get a job to buy them all! Until then I am off to bake another batch of fairy cakes.

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2011 18:13

Haha Verity yes at school uniform. Me too, for primary a dark bottle green with yellow bleurk.

Also I love Raoul and Sandro. And find both really great to wear during the day, a bit like Vanessa Bruno... mentioned by Bonsoir earlier.

ApuskiDusky · 19/08/2011 21:08

Oh.my.god. Am in a state of shock - both companies I have had interviews with this week are interested in offering me an interim role, and both offering the possibility of becoming permanent too. How did all that happen??

pickledsiblings · 19/08/2011 21:39

Fantastic news Apuski. Good luck with the decision making Smile.

notyummy · 19/08/2011 21:53

Fantastic news Apuski- you are in demand.

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 19/08/2011 22:27

Wohoo apuski, that's great news!!!

ApuskiDusky · 19/08/2011 22:59

Thanks all. I have the weekend to mull it all over and decide what I'm going to do. The main thing troubling me at the moment is the short notice I'll have to find childcare in our new area - trying to find a childminder or nanny to start in 2-3 weeks could prove challenging!

Emo76 · 20/08/2011 07:01

apuski that is wonderful news -well done you! Fingers crossed re childcare, I am sure you will work something out.

Ollie I love that Maison Scotch site. mmmm!

am up with my girls whilst DH has a lie in (he had the day off yesterday too, unfair!) and thinking an early stroll to Kings Rd might be in order... Also I am thinking - this autumn winter shall I ban myself from buying black? I have quite a bit already and feel I should add colour (even just navy and brown) to my wardrobe and get out of my minor style rut! thoughts?!

MarshaBrady · 20/08/2011 07:16

Congrats Apuski, great news!

Emo King's Rd stroll sounds fab. Shops take a while to open, perhaps a coffee and croissant first. Yes go for colour first see what you like.

wideawakenurse · 20/08/2011 08:01

Congratulations Apuski. Hopefully you will find a child care solution soon. Any house news? Estate agent told us yesterday that maybe it was over priced. Er, you were one that valued it 2 weeks ago. Angry

That sounds like a perfect morning Emo. I am envious of AW wardrobe talk. This time next year, I will be investing!

Lovely Sandro links VB, especially the coat.

We are off to view more houses today, and then DH has an appointment with sky sports t lunch time that is non negotiable. Hmm. Such as our Saturday's will be until next May.

Have great saturdays all!

OllieinOrange · 20/08/2011 08:32

Morning early risers! DH has gone sailing with a friend today. DS1 has a party this afternoon but has just told me he has a long to do list to get through this morning (takes after his mother) which includes painting a shoebox for his hot wheels cars and everyone leaving him alone cos he needs a rest Shock

Went out with a few friends last night and had a lovely Vietnamese meal. Wore a pale cream blouse which has a black peter pan colour (brought last year and never worn). DH screwed his face up - he really hates those collars - haven't told him yet about the Wrap one arriving in October!

Emo I used to love a Saturday morning potter along the Kings Roads (with an almond croissant & hot chocolate at Patisserie Valerie). I know what you mean about having a mono-colour wardrobe - mine is now a sea of navy/taupe/grey. When I had my colours done, raspberry was one of my strongest colours but I never wear it. Saw this dress tho and liked but looks more burgundy to me here plus not sure if I can pull off the 1940's style.
Apuski thats fantastic news - well done you. Hope everything falls into place for you re childcare. If needs be, would you be able to push back your start date?
Verity that coat is lovely.

OllieinOrange · 20/08/2011 08:34

Oh - in my search for some grey boots (am mourning not getting some Ash Jalouse), I found these in Kew. here.

What do we think - too 1980?

MarshaBrady · 20/08/2011 09:14

Could be a good boot Ollie, try it in on I think.

Perhaps there needs to be a support group for dh's that have a difficult time with Peter Pan collars. Pickled's dh might already be a member Grin

I am lazily thinking about where we should book for evening part. I'll have a think and ask around. Might even do a pm to those coming to see what you all think.

carciofi · 20/08/2011 10:34

Apuski, congratulations on the job offers.

Ltec, that sounds like a fab break with your friend. Enjoy the glamping!

Wan, good luck with the house sale. Have you seen a house you want?

Bloss, hope you enjoy the remainder of your holiday and remember the happy times with DD1. Wish I could help you dispose of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape!

Wan, good luck with the house sale. Have you put an offer in on another house?

Emo, I love navy. Really like the Sandro clothes, Verity, so elegant.

Red, I finished Every Last One, great book. I have passed it on.

Ollie, I like the boots. Your DS sounds like a character!

Thanks, I am ok, I think it is just tiredness. The tests have to be done in hospital as they want to check whether my blood clots properly. I might go one day when DH is off. I am too mean to pay £10 per hour so I can sit in the hospital waiting! That time is for coffees in nice cafés, browsing the shopts, etc! I went to the Kings rd yesterday and met friends from home who are over for the weekend, we went for a nice lunch and then I bought a pair of red ballet flats from R&B. I now have them in black, navy and red but they are so comfortable. I think I am done with shoes now. :)

Just found a North Face gillet to list which I have not worn in two years, time for it to go on ebay, I think.

I can't wait to see One Day. I have the babysitter on Weds afternoon so might go then. I think it opens soon.

carciofi · 20/08/2011 10:37

Oh and the woman I bought the jeans from is known to be quite direct. At least she is honest. Hmm

MrsCB, hope your jeans turn up. We will have to reserve judgement on the Boden skirt!

carciofi · 20/08/2011 10:38

Sorry, last post. Red, the Goldsign are really nice on but still don't justify the price tag. I should have waited and found them on a US site but I wanted them for going out yesterday.

carciofi · 20/08/2011 11:00

MrsCB, happy birthday, have a lovely day.

MarshaBrady · 20/08/2011 11:01

Ollie have sent you a pm.

Ok got to get ready late lunch out today. Sandro navy dress with pretty print I think.

PlumSykes · 20/08/2011 12:25

Ollie, I have these and love them. You should be able to find online somewhere-what size are you?

blossoming · 20/08/2011 13:28

Just spent the morning on the beach. Eating lovely ripe melon.

I have decided that next year I shall only wear black and white on holiday. The ladies in black (linen, cotton, jersey) are the most chic. As opposed to me in Boden green dress Angry.

Great news on the jobs apuski. Things will slot into place I'm sure.

carciofi, what no pewter? Wink

Sounds like you're all having lovely Saturdays, .
