There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

I'm using myfitnesspal, online and the app. I'm very pleased with it all, very easy to use and a huge database. It's really curbed my random snacking and I'm not feeling deprived at all. Not so much dieting as retraining really.

Zwitterion · 23/06/2011 17:16

Thanks Smile. How many calories do you put in for a shred? I thought someone said 200...which sounds about right?

sailorsgal · 23/06/2011 17:27

Level 2 done, I'm on day 8 of it i think. Took ages for my red face to go down. I always do a bit of yoga at the end aswell as am more bendy when I'm hot and sweaty.

chutneypig · 23/06/2011 17:33

I log it as circuit training general for 25 minutes (left off the cool down) which came out at 228 for me.

And I'm done - 30 days straight Grin. Not as trim as I'd like, but on the way.

DoingTheBestICan · 23/06/2011 18:53

Just done my shred for today,i definitly feel trimmer & it doesnt take me so long now to recover either.
19 days to my holiday so i think i will just carry on shredding till i go away.

Zwitterion · 23/06/2011 19:35

Yay our first graduate chutneypig!!

Zwitterion · 23/06/2011 20:21

I'm shredded for the day (day 24) and first day tracking calories in and out so fingers crossed for weight loss....

stopthelights · 24/06/2011 13:56

Done shredding. Am starting to feel it's getting easier. Does that mean I should up my weights. I feel much more toned. Don't think I've lost much weight but I've certainly lost a few inches and my cellulite is almost gone

itsababslife · 24/06/2011 15:22

For a bit of variety I had a go at level 1 of the 6 wk 6 pack instead of shredding. I'm pretty tired despite doing the "easy" version of most of the moves, but for a dvd that claims to give you a 6 pack my shoulders are feeling it the most. She's very fond of variations on a plank, but the sequence of moves - spider plank followed by mountain climbers then a side plank with a lower leg lift that's the real killer!

DoingTheBestICan · 24/06/2011 17:27

Shredded for today & my sides are really aching today.

Nearly there everyone so come on,dont phone it in!!

sailorsgal · 24/06/2011 17:28

itsababslife I got that dvd today. Grin

My shred dvd kept sticking today so not sure if I did too little or too much but was a bit tired so may either do level 1 tomorrow or have a day off. Am going out to salsa tomorrow night so that might be my exercise instead of shredding.

bogle · 24/06/2011 22:13

phoning it in big time I'm afraid... Didn't shred yesterday as did a track session in the evening, have been in my gym kit all day today (still in it now) and have not shredded. Worse still, am off to Palma tomorrow morning with three girlfriends until Tuesday, so I'll actually have a week off shredding, it's obviously going to kill me when I get back. Good luck everyone, i'll catch up with you all on wednesday.

sailorsgal · 25/06/2011 07:38

bogle am very jealous of you going to Palma. Envy Have fun! If you stumble across a bar called pinkandblack pop in and say hi to Luis my cuban friend. He makes fab mojitos. Grin

Fatimalovesbread · 25/06/2011 10:51

Hi all
I've just written on another thread and been advised to join this one.

I started the shred yesterday, going to finish my brew and do day two Grin
I thought it couldn't be as hard as all the talk but my god, I thought I was going to die then realised it was only circuit one of three Grin

How are you all finding it? Please tell me I'll notice a difference

stopthelights · 25/06/2011 13:05

Keep going Fatimalovesbread, you'll see a difference soon Smile. Just finished level 3 but I could feel my knees going again. I don't want to banjax them again and have to lay off shredding for 4 or 5 days til I recover. In many ways I prefer level 3 to the others but I find it really hard on the knees - should I revert to level 2 or should I try to find lower impact ways of managing L3?

orangehead · 25/06/2011 14:35

Hi, still been shredding just not loged in for a few days. Did level 2 for first time yesterday, really struggled but had had a bit of tummy bug so hopefully will find it a bit better when I do it later. Well done everyone

blabalalalablabla · 25/06/2011 14:39

hi all - I was up shredding at 6.30 this morning :o

was considering doing level one tonight as an extra boost - would that be completely mad?

DoingTheBestICan · 25/06/2011 15:29

Just done my shred for today,we are going to our friends for dinner so i wont get a chance to do any tonight.

Feel proper cream crackered now.

itsababslife · 25/06/2011 18:13

I foolishly shredded yesterday after doing the 6 pack one and, oh boy are my back and oblique muscles shouting at me today! Went back to the Shred - day 14 for me I think - but really struggled, and had to follow Anita for most of it :-p

Ishtar2410 · 26/06/2011 17:47

Wandering over from the other thread too....re-started the shred today - managed 4 days last time before life got a bit busy.

Found it reasonably easy today, will probably feel it tomorrow! Hoping that I can keep it going this time.

DoingTheBestICan · 26/06/2011 19:47

Just done my shred for today & boy am i aching!

Zwitterion · 26/06/2011 20:12

I'm done for today too. I'm baked!

orangehead · 27/06/2011 10:53

Just done day 2 of level 2, this heat and streaming with hayfever. Feel like I want to die now

DoingTheBestICan · 27/06/2011 19:46

Come on,where is everyone? Confused

Done my shred for today, tried my swimsuit on before & i actually look alright in it!

Nearly there for the full 30 too.

TattyDevine · 27/06/2011 20:13

I'm back!

Okay I haven't been shredding, I have been phoning it in!

My excuse - I've had a very grumbling gnawing achy pain in my middle abdomen since Thursday. It got rather acute on Saturday night, I nearly went to A&E but eventually managed to drop off to sleep around 4am. Was in bed all day yesterday and have been struggling through today. Have seen the nurse at my surgery, she was worried about appendicitis (!) but not worried enough to whip it out (thankfully, I'd want to be fairly sure its that) but I'm not a happy bunny. I'd do anything to get rid of this gnawing pain. Give me a 24 hour puking bug or the runs over this any day.

I can't see me shredding for several more days so I'm out! Sad

But I've done pretty well this month and built up some fitness and I've lost nearly 10 pounds! So I'm not complaining. And as soon as my health and vitality return I'll be straight back to shredding.

I personally think every day is a bit much, there's a lot to be said for having one or both days of the weekend off, non? 5 days a week would be great though. That's what I will be aiming for in July, I reckon.

Keep up the good work!
