There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

10 days. Not 20. Bloody iPhone and typos

LouMou · 31/05/2011 22:39

Count me in. I'm so inspired by the opening post how could I not at least try.
I've never gone passed 5 days on the shred, so 30 days of June shred is it.

I'm in.

I started a couple of months ago but had terrible knee problems. Have been meaning to start again but without doing the bouncy bits. Will go on the XT for the aerobic sections.

17 days till DH's birthday, got to lose a bit of weight till then. And 5 weeks till we go on holiday.

SilentSinger · 31/05/2011 22:41

twofalls it's my birthday the day before yours & I'll be on holiday but have decided to try to keep going while away (will hopefully have internet and won't have to be away from MN for too long Grin)

dearprudence · 31/05/2011 22:44

Yes! I'm in.

pinkheart · 31/05/2011 23:04

i started this on a different thread also. want i want to hear are peoples views that have actually done it for the 30 days and if they found a difference? im about day 18 in now and think i can see a difference but i dont know if im just convincing myself as didnt think to measure myself before day 1

missthing · 31/05/2011 23:41

Yep I'm in for the bubbly to celebrate twofalls birthday at the end

blabalalalablabla · 01/06/2011 07:16

You've motivated me to start this up again after falling off the shred wagon in February - in fact I'm off right now to do it :o

pinkheart - I noticed a huge difference - I found that I was a lot more toned and clothes were considerably loser and I just looked better and felt much fitter.

acatcalledbob · 01/06/2011 07:17

Count me in, this is just what I need! Did 10 days of level 1 a while back, need to get back into it. My birthday is also the end of the month so fitting into party dress is good motivation.

SomersetBelle · 01/06/2011 07:41

Me too please! Did 5 days before a holiday, then a week off (did take the DVD with me but holiday cottage didn't have a player unfortunately Grin) but now on day 3 again and sticking to it.

Even after 5 days I felt fitter and stronger and actually managed to stick with the whole routine rather than stopping to "tie my hair up"

TattyDevine · 01/06/2011 07:44

We will send out a search party AngryFeet.
Bubbly sounds good Twofalls, we will have earned it!
Bringinghomebacon - forget level 2 - even if you just did level one every day for 30 days that would be great. Okay, Level 2 would be fab then level 3 but Level one is better than Level Meh can't be assed.

Lets get shredded! Anyone got today's out the way yet? I haven't, the baby is trashing my room, I'll wait till my son is up and chuck them in front of the TV and sneak upstairs and do it I think.

OP posts:
blabalalalablabla · 01/06/2011 08:27

I'm done!

It wasn't too bad - I just about managed to keep up bar a few of the crunches towards the end and those side lunges and arm lifts which I have to use my lighter weights for as my upper body strength is pathetic which you wouldn't think given the size of my ham hocks upper arms

ApuskiDusky · 01/06/2011 08:45

I'm in! I managed 10 days a while back, then fell off the wagon, and was a bit put off doing it with ds1 in the room when he picked up and dropped one of my weights next to my head whilst I was doing the abs bit. I need to organise simultaneous cbeebies and shredding I think.

TattyDevine · 01/06/2011 08:49

Gah! Apuski! That sounds like a near miss.

I've been worried that if I do it in with my 18 month old I will punch her in the face with a 3kg weight as I do a chest fly. But the reality is she will probably find a way to kill me...

TattyDevine · 01/06/2011 08:51

I'm going to wait till the lawn-mowing man has been, then I can get them set up in the garden I think. Then I can do it downstairs and keep an eye on them while I do it and lock the door so they can't come back in

GColdtimer · 01/06/2011 09:14

Right dd1 at holiday club, dd2 to my mum's and I am supposed to start work but will get shredded first. After all it's only 20 minutes (beauty of working from home is that nobody has to see my bright red face)

blabalalalablabla · 01/06/2011 09:14

Yes - keep them locked out for their your safety.

dd always tries to offer me helpful hints 'not like that mummy', 'why can't you speak mummy?'

she now knows not to even bother coming in the room although is desperate to join in. To make it worse my dh also shreds so she now sees it as a competition between the two of us to get to level 3 - I'm quite happy pottering on level one for as long as it takes.

blabalalalablabla · 01/06/2011 09:15

go for it twofalls!

roundthehouses · 01/06/2011 09:33

yes! definitely in! had the same idea and started on monday so today is day 3.. not done it yet but full of good intentions. will check back in later to confirm. i need peer pressure to keep me going Grin

I did this last year before i got pregnant, got to about day 25? didn´t do the full 30 but was definitely feeling the difference.

mellowcat · 01/06/2011 09:57

I'd like to join...did the 30 days a while back but then stopped.

Good luck everyone

NanAstley · 01/06/2011 10:13

Can I join? Trying to get rid of post-baby flab and I figured even I could manage to find 20 minutes in a day. I did about 4 days last month before things happened and I stopped. I guess if I have to report to someone, I'll be less likely to fall off the wagon.

Will you be taking roll call, Miss Devine?

AlmaSinger · 01/06/2011 10:19

I might start shredding again actually, I gave it up a few months ago after an unfortunate incident with a tin of soup and a "strength" exercise, but if I purchase some real weights I might get into it again!

TattyDevine · 01/06/2011 10:21

Welcome new members!

I'm done - snuck up before, leaving kiddies with some trains, and a Thomas DVD, good for busy hands, they didn't even miss me.

We will be rock hard in no time! Who else is done for the day? Well done Blabla. You dont have to exercise till...TOMORROW!

Who else is yet to shred? C'mon lets get this over with so we can relax eh?

OP posts:
GColdtimer · 01/06/2011 10:25

Welly done Tatty I'm done too. Its off my list for the day and I am one day close to my birthday bubbles!

If any of you have really early risers, that is the time to do it. Get cbeebies to babysit and off you go.

Do we need a roll call?
