There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

Hello all, I'm completely new but I've been a long-time lurker and really enjoy reading all your threads and posts.

I've just taken up Shredding and today was day 3 at Level one, I'm seriously impressed that all of you are sticking with it and moving on to Level 2, the thought of that makes me want to curl up into the foetal position on the carpet for a few hours....but onward and upward! I know I'm late to the party but I'm joining in regardless...hehe.

BTW, I don't actually have any children....are you all going to run me out of town with flaming torches?

Blackduck · 16/06/2011 15:42

Painted - the lack of children just means you don't have the joy of them a. openly laughing at you b. acting as your own personal drill sargent c.joining in and nearly knocking themselves out with your handweights d. moaning they can't get on the PS because mummy is shredding - any or all of the above... :)
As Jillian says you want the body you have to work for it....but take note, the bloody woman can't count.

LouMou · 16/06/2011 16:01

omg you're right Blackduck, the woman needs maths lessons. 5 more my arse.Angry

Back on the shredding track today, despite my wonky knees. Really toned down the squat exercises and moved up a weights level to push myself a bit extra because of that.

sailorsgal · 16/06/2011 16:34

I am not shredding today. Went to the osteopath this morning and he cracked me in 20 different places and felt a bit squiffy. Going salsa dancing tonight though. Grin should burn a few calories.

chutneypig · 16/06/2011 17:26

The worst offence is level 3 when she says nearly there (or somesuch) only 10 more. And it's definitely not 10. Which doesn't count as nearly in my book anyway.

MissBeehiving · 16/06/2011 17:34

Day 14 here on level 2. Done. Knackered.

bogle · 16/06/2011 18:55

phoning it in today, it's my work day and I'm doing a track session later on tonight. Will be back on the shred tomorrow morning.

DoingTheBestICan · 16/06/2011 19:04

Day 16 on level 2 done here,i had the joy of ds helping me out tonight & the neighbour knocked on the door halfway through so i had to pause it,but i managed to get back into it.

I definitly feel more confident in the exercises now & am looking forward to level 3 perversely.

Keep it up everyone,we're over halfway there!!

orangehead · 16/06/2011 20:01

Welcome PaintedToenails, I was late to the party too. I think on day 4 of level 1 now.
Off to shred now, just got my self some 2lbs weights. The 3 lbs were just a bit to hard.

PaintedToenails · 16/06/2011 20:06

Thanks, orange. Glad you and I are in roughly the same boat, so to speak.

I have two cheapy weights I bought ages ago but I don't know how much they weigh, although I suppose I could actually weigh them......

Ok, they are a kilo each. I think that's about 2.2 pounds in real money, isn't it? They are still almost too much for those bloody side-lungey, arm-raisey, 'butt back and to the side' things. I quite like the Chest Pies though as it's an excuse to lie on the carpet for a minute and just wave my arms about......

TattyDevine · 16/06/2011 21:12

Done.

Well into level 2 now, its very hard at first isn't it! I still do level one when I'm feeling a bit lazy, I did level 1 yesterday.

Past the halfway mark now ladies!

Day 12 done - knees bearing up, shoulder injury improving, back not quite so painful - might try level 3 tomorrow Hmm

Antidote · 16/06/2011 22:21

I ache.

Level 2 again, but with 2kg. I definitely prefer it to level 1, except for the evil v rises.

I am bloody well going to do 3 tomorrow, can't put it off any longer.

bogle · 17/06/2011 10:10

Hurray! I'm the first for today, just done day 4 level 2, def getting a TINY bit easier.

roundthehouses · 17/06/2011 10:12

ok day 2 l3 done.. definitely feeling it.. mostly following anita at the moment esp. on jumping lunges - WTF is all that about?! though am managing all plank-y stuff so anyone on l2 it is worth pushing on with it all to help on L3.

almost made myself laugh imagining what i must look like doing the ´superman´ move, probably look like a fish writhing around on land Grin

chutneypig · 17/06/2011 13:44

Done here - day 23. I'd been hoping for a little less stomach by this point. Sigh. Still only really been watching what I eat since Sunday so maybe a trifle optimistic Grin.

I find the jump training a little odd.

Humphreythehamster · 17/06/2011 14:49

Done it today, day 4 of level 2 after 2 days off Shock

Humphreythehamster · 17/06/2011 14:54

Oh and my nephew (2) tried to lift my weights over his head and fell over backwards bashing his head Hmm

sailorsgal · 17/06/2011 18:31

day 3 of level 2 done! Hate doing all that rowing so substituted them with tricep kickbacks on the low static lunge.

Left knee hurting a bit. Sad sure it was the lunge forward and lunge back move.

GColdtimer · 17/06/2011 18:58

Impressed some if you are on level 3. I did day 4 of level 2 and felt a twinge in my knee and in the ankle I broke a few years ago so might have a day off tomorrow. Not been a great week because gave been wiped out by the bug I had. Haven't lost weight or inches but my clothes are looking and feeling better so something is working!

Zwitterion · 17/06/2011 19:31

That's me done for today. Finding level 2 a bit easier now, apart from the v rises which are indeed evil, antidote.

DoingTheBestICan · 17/06/2011 19:53

Checking in to say i am shredded for today.

MissBeehiving · 18/06/2011 10:37

Day 15. Level 2. I'm actually looking forward to moving onto level 3 Confused

Blackduck · 18/06/2011 10:55

Frig, L2 - I am unco-ordinated as it is so those bloody skater moves and sideways twists are almost impossible..... gargle your heart indeed

orangehead · 18/06/2011 14:02

I like the chest flies too, PaintedToenails. Is your nephew ok Humphrey?
Didnt shred yesterday, got back from work really late. Think Im just going to go for a run today and shred tomorrow
