Where is everybody???

VerityBrulee · 20/05/2011 11:38

Hi Annie Smile

Bloss that's great, all supporters welcome Smile We were at the semi-final, it was great fun, although dd hated the noise and says she won't go to another match. Would LOVE to be at the final but the flights were about 10 times the normal cost. Don't forget to wear blue tomorrow Wink

I just ordered this gorgeous Zara top although I can't take credit for it, it was the uber-stylish LTEC who found it Smile

blossoming · 20/05/2011 11:51

Of course! Leinster blue is so my colour Wink

DH's birthday clothes just arrived. How quick was that? The half zip 'radley' knit is gorgeous and 100% cotton, so will work well for spring summer. I'm going to have to have a word with him about his wardrobe though. He has such old, worn out clothes in there, and not any room for lovely new clothes. He has a deep rooted fear that I'm going to do it when he's in work though - he knows me so well!

dolceebanana · 20/05/2011 13:28

Hello. Just want to say, Everyspring: you are doing fab. Keep going the way you are. It will all work out in the end.

Bloss - i have to practically bully DH about 'relinquishing' clothes too. He will grab things back out of the charity/rubbish pile.

blossoming · 20/05/2011 13:39

dolcee, at the weekend, dh reverts to '80's dressing' - ripped jeans and everything. I really despair.

OP posts:
OllieWollieWoo · 20/05/2011 17:51

Boys had the day off school today and lets just say I summoned DH home from work a bit early (hardly every do that!) and the wine was open at 6pm (jusified the early time by having a white wine spritzer!). God they were busy boys today!

Like that jumper a lot Bloss - was thinking of getting DH the royalford jumper in grey. CC is very much his style of dressing.

Am mildly intrigue about who Oprah's final guest is. I. need. a. life.

Emo76 · 20/05/2011 19:47

Hey OWW sounds like a good end to a busy day

What a week at work - really hideous atmosphere at times, there is someone very disruptive and unpleasant on the team upsetting almost everyone. The good news is that he'll eventually make a huge mistake and get the boot. Just need to be patient and give as good as I get!

Still loving my Reiss Minna lace tops and navy Jbrand majors for Friday wear.

Anyone else watching UK telly and thinking it's tripe this eve - I give you "War for windfarms" on BBC2.

ApuskiDusky · 20/05/2011 21:24

Grrr, just lost a massive post! Try again...

Every, really sorry to see that you're feeling down at the mo. Everyone is right, you are doing great, you are fab, and ultimately you will be fine. And don't let people's FB statuses upset you, they're just like Christmas round-robin letters, usually only highlighting all the good or funny bits of people's lives.

Emo, yuck to office tensions, but good for you to fighting back!

Annie, I hope things calm down with your DH's business soon. I have been browsing the Flannels sales since you posted (always forget about them), and love lots of their workwear stuff especially Joseph and Theory, but everything I like is black! Doesn't really work for me.

My job hunting situation is getting interesting - I've been shortlisted for one permanent role, got a prelim phone interview for a (brilliant) interim role on Monday, could well be offered a different interim job in a couple of weeks with someone I know, and need to talk to the agency about another option on Monday. So hopefully at least one of these will come to fruition!

And the possible move to Bristol seems much more likely - any of these jobs would be fine from where I am now or Bristol, but being in Bristol would suit what DH will likely be doing next. I am dreading the thought of putting the house on the market though - both the hassle of it all and the fear that no one will be interested. Why is it you only notice what you love about a house when you are thinking about selling it?!

moragbellingham · 20/05/2011 22:16

Darn it verity - I have a thing about cherry blossom, it is lovely, however Zara sizing is ridiculous and so have ordered M and L.

carciofi · 21/05/2011 09:50

Apuski, good luck!

Have just been browsing through Zara, there are some lovely tops. Why are so many of them polyester though? Really like these trousers and also the red skinny jeans. Would someone like to be my fit model? Bloss? :)

Come on Leinster!

Hope you all have good weekends. We are going out to dinner tonight, I am dragging myself out as it will probably be the last night we are out for a while.

blossoming · 21/05/2011 10:38

They're a good price carciofi. I am still zara phobic though! I Haven't worn my Gap houlilikies at all. With me I need the real thing, obviously!
My flat cap arrived, some NY company. I think it's a keeper. I'll wear it to the races with the mother's group first if the weather's like this and gage reaction. It doesn't look like a farmer's one, or like my dad's!

Had a lovely night tv watching last night emo! A place in the sun (dh mentioned that's what we're doing next!!), then strangely bonding over Superzize v Superskinny, then, rather pissed at this stage, Embarrassing Bodies!!

OP posts:
PORTIA4 · 21/05/2011 11:47

Great trews Carciofi, I bought these a couple of weeks ago in navy and taupe, and they have already become my unoffical uniform for cold spring mornings when summer clothes would look ridiculous! They are very flattering and great for work, if any one needs semi casual work clothes.
Fab top Verity, really nice colours.
I'm not allowed buy clothed for DHSad,therefore his wardrobe largely consists of clothes that don't get the royal seal of approval!
Go Leinster!

pickledsiblings · 21/05/2011 12:03

Hello lovely ladies

Apuski, great news on the job front possibilities wise, I hope the 'right' one comes to fruition. Our last house never looked better than when we were selling it - it's hard, isn't it.

PORTIA4, I can imagine those capris on you, what a good price.

Carciofi, have a great meal out.

Bloss, are you becoming a clothes snob? Me too Grin. I was looking for a possible interview outfit (should know early next week if I've been shortlisted, fingers crossed) and I turned my nose up at practically everything on the Debenhams website.

Have a lovely weekend all, and Everyspring, keep your chin up Smile.

OllieWollieWoo · 21/05/2011 12:33

After my (not very, in the great scheme of things but..) stressful day yesterday, DH told me to go potter round the shops for a few hours this morning - lovely man! Didn't really need anything so tried a few things on that I would never normally look at.

Tried a jumpsuit on in NL which was v nice - v soft grey jersey material, v comfortable. Refrained from buying as it was strapless and I could not think of when I would wear it (summer hol is a rented house so no need to dress up for dinner etc) and just not the sort of thing I would feel ok wearing over here for an informal night out etc.

(Also tried on a chambray playsuit - still laughing at the memory of how bad it looked on me!)

Did buy a nice silk dress in a steel grey/blue - simple loose sleeveless shift with ruffles around the neckline - would normally stay clear of ruffles but looked nice on so glad I tried it.

There were some great colour block shoes in Zara in various styles (and several white dressses for you Fritzi?). Saw LTEC's and soon to be Verity and Morag's top - beautiful.

Apuski great news on the job front.
Waves to everyone else on this sunny Saturday.

blossoming · 21/05/2011 12:42

Sounds like a lovely morning ollie.
portia, those capris look amazing. I'm going to have to get over my zara fear aren't I?
Good luck pickled, is it full time? And good luck to you too apuski. It sounds very exciting with a possible house move too.
Ds running around shouting Johnny Sexton over and over. I live in a mad house.

Hi ladies. Feeling very dusty after too much to drink last night. Had a fabulous meal at the restaurant on the 7th floor of the Tate Modern and then continued drinking for far longer than necessary. Wore my yellow Vanessa Bruno Athe dress with the new Carvela Glads (thank you Ooh - I can't quite believe how comfortable they are) and felt great.

Little browse at Bluewater yesterday with my friend. I took back a blouse to Zara, which is identical to the cherry blossom number but covered in butterflies. I felt sure I would rip it on first wear! Bought a gorgeous white dress which isn't on their website, annoyingly. 3/4 length sleeves, big buttons at the back and lots of pin-tuck detailing. Will need a slip underneath, but is very beautiful.

Apuski fingers crossed for the interviews! Let me know if you need updates on the Bristol house scene Wink.

Emo sorry about the crap week at work, hope the weekend makes up for it.

Sounds like a lovely morning Ollie, well dome your DH.

Hope very one enjoys their Saturdays, am going to take the opportunity to power nap before heading to the park.

VerityBrulee · 21/05/2011 18:19

bloss your ds is right, johnny's our hero! So exciting!!

blossoming · 21/05/2011 18:31

I've left them to it verity. Way too much emotion/testosterone downstairs right now! Fantastic match.

OP posts:
VerityBrulee · 21/05/2011 20:35

Wow, that was an exciting match! Hope your ds is happy bloss, all delerious here! Johnny Sexton has been ds2s favourite player for a few years, he has met him a few times and he's a really nice guy always happy to sign stuff and pose for photos, will get one for your ds next time Smile

Sorry to bore you with rugby, but is a video dh made about BOD, our national rugby hero, it's short and funny

No W&A activity today, but at least I can take the blue nail varnish off now!

VerityBrulee · 21/05/2011 20:44

OWW your dh is v considerate Smile

Hope you're enjoying your evening Carciofi

Good luck with the jobs Apuski

Waves to all!

Bucketing rain here, I left off my opaques today for the first time this week, but had to put them on by midday as I was so cold. Where is this heatwave I've heard we're due?

That would be great verity! I just realised why DH hated N'hampton so much: that bloke who did the swallow dive and scored a try against Wales plays for them, Ashton was it? At one point I had the three of them, dd too shouting at the tv! Can't watch YouTube on iPhone, will look at your link tomorrow.

You sound good tonight everyspring, weekends can be hard. You know where we are.

Hope you had a good night out carciofi.

carciofi · 22/05/2011 08:07

Verity, just watched BOD and then Freeze ... lovely scenes of Dublin and great music.

Everything, great about the benefit.

Emo, hopefully that guy will take the hint and leave soon.

Red and Ollie, like the sound of the dresses.

We had a lovely evening but spent most of the time trying to agree on a name for the baby. I had a bio sculpture pedicure yesterday, it is supposed to last 6-8 weeks but we will see. My hospital bag is not packed but I have been to the dentist, hairdressers, pedicure, the priorities second time around! I then had a look in a lovely shop conveniently located at the end of my street and got this top in black at 60% off. It fits me now but will look better with a flat stomach and skinny skinny jeans!

DD woke at 6.30, very unusual for her and I was fast asleep for once. During the week when I want her up, I have to wake her at 8am. Hmm

carciofi · 22/05/2011 08:11

Portia, I like those capris a lot.

blossoming · 22/05/2011 10:01

Great video verity. Sore heads in Dublin this morning I expect!
Lovely top carciofi. I like this top from White Co. Sadly sold out, although they may have it in store. I'm having a bit of a love affair with White Co this summer. Ridiculous really. I am coveting the clothes I would wear if I lived in Provence. Still wet here. I know the South East is dry and newspaper headlines talk about a long hot summer. So irrelevant to this part of the country. Rain actually woke me up this morning!
I was thinking yesterday that portia's capris, a nice white shirt and this scarf would make a good summer work outfit, with flats.
