I had a job many moons ago in the military where I worked with Queen, Prince Philip, Charles, Ann and Andrew (not Edward) at various times (only for 10/15 minutes at a time!!) They are all pretty short is my main recollection. Ann very switched on. My views on Andrew probably best not shared publically......

Just back from short walk into town. Managed to try the Bloss Maxi on in Phase eight. It is indeed very lovely and the fabric is so comfortable. Sadly, it remained in store as I really cannot justify any purchases until pay day at the moment.

Bad day today. I have been weighing myself every day and I was very pleased that I lost 6lb in 2 weeks. But I realised today morning that actually the scales were calibrated wrong and I have lost precisely...nothing . Not a great start to the day.

Then I went to White Stuff for their 20% off promotion.
Waste. Of. Time.
Seriously, their clothes look worn-out and shabby on the hanger; what will they look like after a wash? And the prices are ridiculous considering you're getting such poor quality.

everyspring I don't "know" you but your situation with your dh sounds less than ideal. He's wriggled out of all the stress that goes with taking responsibility (which is what adults do!). Really hope things improve for you.

Just off to bed but wanted to say the fish recipe was a big hit - easy and v tasty. (Bloss - I get too flustered trying to buy fish over the counter - cod for example is kabeljouw -go figure - so I just buy frozen cod fillets from supermarket and use when needed. Don't obviously have the wow factor in terms of looks as they are square blocks but good to have.)

Nan - sorry you've had a rough day. My scales seem to be all over the place so now I weigh myself wearing the same thing (PJs) at the same time (before morning shower) and then keep a note of the results. Seems to really vary depending on time of the month etc so don't get too disheartened. I'm with you on getting NY to fess up all royalty related gossip (without her having to stand trial for treason of course!)

everyspring I agree with nan. From what you've said I get the impression that your dh is behaving like a child and letting others shoulder all responsibilities. Sorry if I speak out of turn.

nan, I agree with you about White Stuff. I bought dh a short sleeve linen mix shirt, a polo shirt and a wool half zip sweater (on sale, it will be great for autumn). Sorry about your scales. I am drinking wine, sabotaging any progress I may have made this week.

Phillip v funny and does like the ladies. Charming and easy to talk to. Basically trying to distract me from what I was supposed to be doing! Wore an ANCIENT waxed raincoat that he refused to change. (Disclaimer : I know he is prone to the odd offensive comment. I never witnessed anything but obviously don't condone it!!)

Queen hugely efficient and professional and expects the same from those who work with or for her. Fine by me.

Andrew ........ . Nothing tabloid worthy by any means. Just a different kettle of fish.

Every - No wonder this is such a difficult time - I hadn't realised that you with been ex-DH since such a young age. A huge upheaval.

I asked him, why are you supporting an Irish team when you are Welsh, and my DH replied, all 6 year old boys support the teams that are winning. So there you have it! He will be watching avidly while intermittently shouting 'forward pass'! ( I think he's also supporting the opposite team to whoever DH and I are supporting, but that's another matter!)
