Hi there ladies!

OP posts:
OllieWollieWoo · 27/03/2011 20:12

Home now - all with lovely glowing faces from the sun.

Morag - lovely to see you back on here.
MrsJuan - no frogs (but a few dodgey looking Dutch men in far too small speedos in the pools!) - we were at a Landal Green Park - v similar to Centre Parks. If you ignore the basic looking accommodation, its a great place for a weekend away. They had thought of everything - there was even a large wooden puppet theatre with puppets in DSs bedroom and great toys for the bath.

Any baby news?!

Carciofi you MUST buy the Barbour - especially as you missed out last year. Think Mrs CB got one in the end?
Pickled - cute bag - I love the odd bit of ditsy print in my life (matches my ditsy nature!)
Petitdonkey - I liked the look of the NF dress - guess you will just have to wait and see how the colour looks on. (Also liked the Mulberry bag its styled with)
Fritzi - can you believe that I forgot to order the Boden slouchy bag when it was on offer as too occuppied with icing bday cake on Thursday evening! Was thinking about the tan one - whats your opinion on size and shape of the bag? Shame the pewter wasn't a good match colour wise.

Almost finished the fourth Cazalet Chronicle book - I shall miss reading them! I find myself wanting to use their vocabularly eg "your daughter's a pearl" and "its all so utterly, utterly ghastly, I fear I will come undone". I sometimes think I was born in the wrong era!

everythingchangeseverything, I saw this £16 beach bag in the catalogue. It's bigger than it looks. I may have to get one.

Mmm yes I saw that! Does Jonnie B have anything?

Emo76 · 27/03/2011 21:07

Some lovely links ladies!

pickled I like your beachbag and OF COURSE you need the matching pouch for suncreams etc

carciofi that Barbour would be perfect for pushing baby around the park!

vin what a haul! Will check out those RB shoes as I could do with similar for commuting/meetings around town.

Warehouse have got a rather good sale on - like this but where would I wear it? and stripey tunic not in sale! Some other nice things too. Hmmm!

Emo76 · 27/03/2011 21:09

Stupid links don't work - guess it is due to Warehouse site? Anyway, the dress, if anyone can be bothered to look, is the white two layer t shirt dress. Also I should add that I am not exactly model slim - would it do any favours?

moragbellingham · 27/03/2011 21:38

Johnnie B is definitely unusual sizing!
Great skinny jeans (although not the acid washGrin- they were hideous). I got a great dress before Xmas and have learnt that the XL stuff sells out quickly.

Ollie - I do a 40 page catch up sporadically, by which time I've forgotten who's linked to what. Can sometimes keep up.

Vinestein - do yo mind me asking where your dream placement was?

moragbellingham · 27/03/2011 21:40

bloss don't believe the 8 week wait!
I ordered a johnnie b shirt with a 13 week wait (2 weeks ago) and it arrived the same week I ordered. My scarves, however are due in 13 weeks.

Does anyone have Marlene?

Emo76 · 27/03/2011 22:14

everything yes, that's the one. Know what you mean by waist definition could be a good thing. Not ordering.

morag I don't - but I like it. hmmm. step away from the keyboard emo and go to bed...

carciofi · 28/03/2011 03:40

Hi, can't sleep due to reflux (lovely) and got up to check out flights for next weekend.

Finally met the postnatal doula today and really liked her, DD also took to her straight away so good to have her booked.

MrsJuan, great about your sister, hope she has had the baby now and it all went well. Thanks for the compliment but you should see me most days! I mostly wear jeans so would like the AH to dress them up. Yes, think Tracey does have that jacket. I am not sure whether to go for black or green. As always I need to ebay more first before I can buy it!

Pickled, sorry, yes, I meant to say Petitdonkey, I like the Nicole Farhi dress. I like the Mila bag too. My cousin just named her little girl Mila, think she will have to get her the bag for when she is older.

Bloss, I like the shirtdress ... would be perfect for Rome. Maybe if your Boden espadrilles arrive in time, bring those as well as ballet flats?

Vin, sounds like a great day. I haven't been in Covent Garden in such a long time. I need a new breton, well, I will need one.

Any time I order something from Boden with a long waitlist, it comes a lot sooner.

Fritzi, what is the leather like on your bag?

OK, feeling sleepy again.

carciofi · 28/03/2011 03:43

Morag, I like the Marlene dress.

Would anything from the JL Basic Deluxe range work exhausted?

Thanks for the feedback re shirtdress. I did order it. I think I got the last one! I've said since I saw a smart lady (the only one) in St Tropez last year wearing a shirt dress that I wanted one for this year. They can be eyewateringly expensive, and/or have a frumpy sleeve length. The Mango one looks good, but I have NEVER had any success with Mango before so I'll just have to wait and see.

morag, what would you say the Johnnie B sizing was like? Would you say the XL was a 12? I fancy a couple of things from the Mini Boden catalogue Blush for myself!

I hope you managed to get back to sleep alright carciofi. One of the best things about childbirth is knowing the heartburn is over imo! I am very excited about the espadrilles, and hope they arrive in time. I think they're due in 3 weeks, so it will be touch and go!
The Isabella Oliver dress sold, so that will pay for the shirtdress. One in, one out!

That lace dress is pretty Exhausted.

Sorry to hear about the heartburn Carciofi. I had a pretty easy pregnancy tbh but the one thing I did suffer from was terrible heartburn from snout 5 months onward, so I can sympathise. It didn't seem to matter what I ate, or even if i just ate a tiny amount- I still suffered. Dd was pretty big and I had a small bump, so the midwife thought she was all 'inside' me and completely squashing my tummy. At least it meant i couldn't put much weight on!

Am at home today (wearing the skinnies kindly given to me by Anniemac.) DD is ill with raging temp, sore throat and vomiting. Just back from the docs where we narrowly avoided another hospital trip. Means more time off work again (which obviously not my primary concern- I just want get to get well) but I am also concerned what it looks like to have 2 spells off with a sick child within 6 weeks of starting a new job. DH is great when he is here, but that is not a lot at the moment, so this sort of thing is all down to me. Have been emailing and texting work saying 'ring me at home if you need snything' so they don't think I have actually just buggered off on a long weekend somewhere Hmm

blossoming · 28/03/2011 12:21

Sorry to hear that notyummy. DS was ill constantly when he started school. Must be very hard on you.
Lovely sunny day here. Hope everyone is out enjoying the sunshine!
I am giving myself till 1pm to sit down, then I need to tackle the ironing, and one of the bags left on the landing after sorting out DS's room yesterday.
I shall try not to buy anything for me, but I'm about to place a big order for DD from Mini Boden.

FritziGreenEyes · 28/03/2011 12:29

carciofi I just saw that the bag was the wrong colour and put it immediately back without checking leather, size or anything else. Hope you get some rest despite heartburn. I had it too with DD and nothing really helped. Only 10 weeks to go now, right?

notyummy Hope your DD gets better soon. I can imagine that it must be stressful to you to take off time at work again. Being available via phone/email is the only thing you can do for now. Is there a chance your mother's help can look after DD when she is better but still too weak to go to school?

bloss Love your one-in one-out philosophy for dresses!

morag I like the dress you linked to but wouldn't know when to wear it.

blossoming · 28/03/2011 12:40

Thanks for the EA link yesterday fritzi.
I just had an email about this sleeveless trench dress from J Crew at NAP. I think it looks really nice, especially how they've styled it with a Breton underneath. The video really sells it to me!

blossoming · 28/03/2011 12:43

Blush - trench an breton obsessed.

notyummy · 28/03/2011 12:56

Bloss - that dress does look v wearable. Breton under in the spring, and without in the summer! Could get away with it for work in a lot of places (maybe not banks/lawyers etc)

notyummy · 28/03/2011 13:02

Am busy making offerings to all known deities that DD gets better in a few days, as we have two really fun weekends with friends/family coming up involving expensive pre-booked tickets to shows/hotels/flights (inc a second try at getting to Geneva that was scuppered by the snow in December.)

Will be GUTTED if it all has to be cancelled.

blossoming · 28/03/2011 13:04

I do like it, and if the Mango shirtdress doesn't work out I may be tempted. I think DH could think it was weird though!
I've been looking at other dresses too, notably graphite shift - perfect!
And fahri cotton dress.
Time for ironing!

mrsjuan · 28/03/2011 14:03

Sorry dd's not well NY. I hope she gets better soon. There's some horrible bugs around at the moment. I'm still rocking the ashen look from being sick over the weekend.

My poor sister is still going Shock. sounds like she's having a horrible time of it. Such a shame as she seemed to be doing everything 'right'. Hopefully baby will arrive soon and make it all worthwhile.

Will catch up later, so much to do!
