Hi there ladies!

OP posts:
petitdonkey · 10/03/2011 20:50

Ooooh!!! Sounds good.

vinosaur · 10/03/2011 21:01

ehem, marking my place..

mrsCB hope all is well with you. I recently ordered this leopard scarf not that I really need another leopard scarf.. ehem numero 4

LTEC I am so happy to see you back!

carciofi I prefer the AH bag I think, a bit more timeless, slightly bigger, and soft.. or.. er.. both? Wink

Well, my nose, my nose I am okay- I will explain in detail (to anyone who wants to know!) later but basically I haven't had anything done to it and they said it was ''too swollen to x ray'' which sounds mad as presumably if it's too swollen x ray would be the best answer? They FELT the damn thing instead (ouch) and commented on certain deviations (?) but said it could be like that before and it looked okay- I said, er, no I don't think so- by the time it was prodded I had shamefully ignored your brilliant advice and left it til Monday. ON the plus side the right side isn't making a weird crunchy noise now. I have been sporting some attractive bruising under my eyes and up the sides of my nose too.. in short, I have no idea- I have been referred to a nose man to see him at start of next week, told to take pills, sleep with head up on pillows- basically as long as I can breathe they're quite happy. The worst thing was explaining how it happened, as shoeboots sound a bit of a silly reason to have b*ggered up your nose really Grin

vinosaur · 10/03/2011 21:06

eh, my striking out has gone mad

Anyway I cannot thank you enough for your advice everyone and especially exhaustednurse thank you thank you thank you

(hangs head in shame for not following it precisely)

I am in a bit of a frazzled state as again, the childcare problem has arisen as P may have a job (hurrah) but also BOTH my jobs want me to start on THE SAME DAY which means I really have to make a decision toute suite Confused

I have somehow now gained a stone and my lovely work skirts (recently ordered) DO NOT FIT ME so I need to do something about that.

red fabulous news about DH's job- I lived in Clifton for a while, very nice area- Redlands too is lovely. Park St is fab and I love some of the properties by the docks, beautiful. And it has a zoo! kids love it

vinosaur · 10/03/2011 21:09

annie with navy I like tan or nude heels or in fact any brighter colour too if you're brave. I don't hate black and navy for winter, I like it. For spring/summer I do hate it. Red?

I've been sent a 25% off Gap voucher (UKGAP25 if you would like it too!) - basket currently filled with hoodies and T's for the boys but is there anything worth looking at for me?

ABO they have this dress the colour of which would look good on you? here

AllBuggiedOut · 11/03/2011 07:50

Thank so much for the feedback ladies, and the very kind comments . The dress has gone back, on the grounds of (a) not special enough and (b) not very flattering from the side. So, the hunt continues.

Thanks for your suggestions exausted; not keen on the fabric of the VWA, like the HH but can't do black and the Issa is too low at the neck. I'm wondering whether to try a Bec next. But when I have more time later I think I should investigate Issa properly. The colour of yours roary looks wrong on my computer, but I love the shape...

Ouch about your nose vin. You deserve the beautiful leopard!

Happy sunshine ladies.

Emo76 · 11/03/2011 07:52

zipping in when I shouldn't be and marking my spot

LOVING the trenches - colleague has a burberry one with cotton lining and says it's really nice and warm for this time of year. I think I am due a "transitional" jacket....

Work going OK, missing my children but plus side is that going to meetings/office reminds me how much the whole of London has to offer and how I had become something of a local SW London hermit for a while. Oh, and I am based in the West End which is jolly handy for lunchtime purchases!

annie I think nude looks good with navy. navy itself would be too "matchy matchy"

today I am wearing that Warehouse blouson which ants spotted IT IS GORGEOUS!

happy Friday all

notyummy · 11/03/2011 07:53

OWW- when does the voucher expire? There has been a lot of love in the press for the new high rise flares that Gap have this season. Could be worth a look?

LTEC - great to hear from you and some fab purchases there.

Vin- I really hope your nose is ok.

blossoming · 11/03/2011 08:10

What is all this talk of sunshine??

abo, very wise. It was a bit GI Jane really! I think you would suit a Bec, but I think dvf have lots of great 'ruched' options. If you look at the main site rather than the Matches one.

Dh is London way today. We've been ready for half an hour and I've a curry in the oven. Wondering if he slows us down normally?
Big result, dd drank her milk from a beaker. My years (6.5) of bottle feeding are OVER!!

mrsjuan · 11/03/2011 08:39

Morning all, beautiful sunny day here - hooray!
Welcome back to the shirkers Wink You have been missed.

ABO - Agree with the others that that dress was not good enough for you - especially compared to the VWA. You do have a fab body though! Hope you find 'the one' soon.

Carciofi I'm so sorry about your mum and that your DH had such crappy timing - you must miss her so much Sad

Jeans shopping was not as inspiring as I'd hoped - they only had about 4 brands in Selfridges and 3 in Harvey Nicholls so not much scope for experimentation. My favourite were the Paige hidden hills skinny ones here but I just couldn't quite bring myself to part with nearly £200 so will keep an eye out on Brand Alley etc.

I bought a blue blazer from Zara (love love love the colour blocking in there but it's not for me), these platform wedges from UO, these were in the sale at m&s but having got them home I've decided I need the black ones as well instead so have ordered them at full price.

I also got a pair of boot cut jeans (from next Blush) to try out the flared look.

Bloss I tried on you of my life at the moment the 10s were too big and the 8s were just slightly too tight on the thighs. Think liposuction in the only solution Grin

DKNY has got some beautiful clothes in at the moment - beyond my budget but worth a look.

this grey kookai jacket is lovely on too if anyone fancies it (size down)

Lanvin shoes (complete with lovely bags - Marsha) in TK maxx at the moment - only in big stores with the gold label range though.

DD has been entertaining herself whilst I wrote this by peeling her own satsuma - I've found it a very good 'holding' activity Grin

mrsjuan · 11/03/2011 08:40

Have somehow completely missed half of a sentence there - try again:

Bloss I tried on your Gap cargos and they are lovely but as is the story of my life...

oops!

Morning ladies

emo I'll be based on Regent Street when I go back to work in [gulp] 3 weeks. Keep consoling myself with proximity of Anthropologie, Zara, Mango, JL et al.

Managed to bag myself a bargain pair of (not too blingy) silver sandals on eBay last night to jazz up Janice since the LK Bennett faves were out of stock online. 99p plus £3 postage. Very Wise I reckon! But the hunt for silver Jimmy Choos will continue...

Feeling very sorry for myself this morning Sad Just had a coil fitted and boy did it hurt. Sat with a hot water bottle and about to plunge into eBay to see if some retail therapy can ease the pain.

Gorgeous leopard scarf vin - sounds like you deserve it Smile

MarshaBrady · 11/03/2011 10:53

quick one. Vin a whole load of black dresses on theoutnet Wink

BB hope you are ok...

Back later...

petitdonkey · 11/03/2011 11:02

Just musing but who buys this online???

'Mmm, I really need a wedding dress, budget is about 9 grand, I really don't want to go somewhere fancy, try on loads and drink champagne. I know! I'll look online...'

It's exclusive to NAP too so they must anticipate selling some.... AND the 40 is sold out!!

AntPants1 · 11/03/2011 11:33

I totally agree petit. Also I do not like it. Love the embroidery but hate the rest......

Ouch bouncing, hope the pain wears off soon.

MrsJ Lanvin at TKMaxx ShockEnvy we don't have TKMaxx's like that around here!

ABO not sure if this is your colour, but I am totally in love with this MJ dress, it is in a shop window I pass a couple of times a week, and it is taking all my will power not to go in and buy it. It is a corally orangy red in RL.

Vin hope you are ok, good luck with choosing a job Smile

Bloss that's def a milestone!

LTEC great to see you, hope all good with you.

Carciofi I like the Gracie too.

Doing well crossing things off my to do list, but will be entertaining 7 12 year old boys this afternoon, so think I need a lie down first.

VerityBrulee · 11/03/2011 11:55

I know Annie just watched a bit on the news, but had to turn it off. Imagine knowing that the tsunami is going to hit in a couple of hours and wondering it you and your family will survive it Sad Sad Sad

A stalker here... call me controversial but is it just me that thinks WIT has lost her touch since LTEC is posting less of her own immitable style...
