Im starting the 30 day shred on Monday and ive seen alot of you have orderd it or are also starting monday.

Was wondering if it was a good idea to measure ourselfs in the top of our thighs, tummy, hips and whatever else in inchs to see how much we loose from where, also adding our height and weight aswell

we could put our measurements on before we start then update it after our 30 day shred?

I will measure myself over the weekend and update this thread in time for monday incase anyones intrested, or would just like to hear the results

x

I can't do the star jumps I've just done thee boxing squat instead, I just try and keep up my heart rate.

Nagoo · 13/03/2011 17:37

ha... rock star jumps will make you DIE.

I do the butt kicks or something instead, same as you. i just wondered if you knew a trick I could do to enable me to walk up stairs without wincing :)

Lavitabellissima · 13/03/2011 19:23

Ooh I'm wincing too, I've tried doing more knee circles at the beginning, but it doesn't seem to work, as I'm still in pain Sad
I keep thinking Gillian would make me burn through the pain! Do you watch the biggest loser USA? I love it, used to watch it with a glass of wine and a bar of chocolate though Smile
Now I'm seeing results though, it really spurs you on, going to have my last glass of wine until next Fri now, and keep going with my healthier eating choices!

anon80 · 13/03/2011 21:15

Go on anon you'll feel much better for it!

I'mStarting level 3 tomorrow!

pixiestix · 13/03/2011 22:29

Level 3 Lavita! Shock I can't imagine being able to get that far!
That said I have just done day 8 of level 1 and I'm feeling like the move up to level 2 might be bearable after all - on day 1 I thought I would probably stick with level 1 for the whole of the 30 days! Feeling really good today, and according to the scales have lost three pounds already - woop!

catinboots · 14/03/2011 09:11

Agggh - I'm starting Level 2 tonight. Is it knee-friendly??

Tortoise · 14/03/2011 09:41

I am going to attempt to shred later this morning despite drippy nose! Will have to take it easy on cardio because my chest is already a little tight. I think I am on day 10.

bogle · 14/03/2011 09:44

day 5 level 1 done, getting easier now.

Tortoise · 14/03/2011 12:44

Day 10 done. Took it a bit easier than norm on cardio, didn't try and keep up with them as I normally would. But still feel like I had a good workout. Made carrot and parsing soup for lunch.

SilveryMoon · 14/03/2011 17:07

Hello.
I did day 1 on thursday and have jut done day 2 Blush (or do I now count today a day 1 again?)

Really don't know how I'm gonna fit that into my day!
Dp thought it was hilarious watching me remove an item of clothing with each circuit!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 14/03/2011 18:32

Well done Silvery - I've only managed 2 sessions since Friday so we're both on Day3 together. I'm determined not to have the 'all-or-nothing' approach of thinking I've failed already and giving up.

Not been able to fit it in today either but tomorrow is another day!

Giddyup · 14/03/2011 19:35

I did day 3 level 1 today, I didn't manage it yesterday as too achy and busy. My fairly recent c section (4 months) started aching so I had a day off but did a good long walk.

I don't feel quite so ruined afterwards as I did after day 2 on Saturday, but it remains to be seen tomorrow if I still can walk Smile

Lavitabellissima · 14/03/2011 22:31

giddyup My twins are 4 months too, I've not had any problems with pain in my c section scar, just this bloody knee!

I have definitely lost weight, today wad my 15th day but my 13th session of shredding. Haven't done the measurements but I've lost 3lb in two weeks Grin

anon80 · 15/03/2011 10:11

Lavita i didnt do it in the end, nor yesterday as i was shopping all day.

But did it today, but as ive missed the last couple of days ive started level 2 from the start again so...

Level 2 day 1 done!! and wow is it a work out or what, I even took my water bottle into the shower with me, felt like i was dying. Will do the next 9 days straight as i need to get back into it, i dont want to slack.

Everyone seems to be doing realllllly well!!! keep it up :)

Lavita I am impressed with u doing shred with 4mth old twins. Well done on weight loss too.

I have lost just under 3lbs this week.Smile Level 2 today I think! Although will still have to take it easy with this stupid cold.

Tortoise · 15/03/2011 11:33

Day 1 level 2 done. My arms just aren't strong enough to hold plank position for long. And I can't do skaters fully because there isn't enough room! Will stick at it or adapt exercises.

HoegaardenHappiness · 15/03/2011 11:54

I have been inspired by you all, just ordered the DVD.

Stupid question, do you do it in trainers or barefoot?

anon80 · 15/03/2011 11:59

I adapt exercises too- the spin side to side jumps, I dont jump really just move/swivel my feet along the carpet, as i get fitter will do it properly though, double jump I jogg on the spot, and the lunges where you put one foot in front, to the middle, then behind i do squat and press ( from level one ) as i have bent legs (not that you can tell) so cant do lunges properly.

As long as you keep moving and keep your heart rate up, I dont see the problem really.

anon80 · 15/03/2011 12:00

Welcome Garden!- I do it with socks on, on carpet (dont have shoes on in the frontroom) Grin

OP posts:
Tortoise · 15/03/2011 12:32

Welcome Hoe! I wear trainers. They are old ones so haven't been outside for ages (we don't generally wear shoes indoors either but find it better for my knees).

pixiestix · 15/03/2011 16:43

Hoe Im a socks-on-carpet gal too, and am not suffering any knee pain or joint pain from it so you should be fine without trainers if thats how you want to do it.
I was having a right worry about whether or not I would be able to do the shred with my 5 month old c-section scar, so Lavita and Giddy you have my respect! (I still do a lot of the cardio holding on to my belly, just in case Blush Grin)
Last day of level 1 to do in a minute!

bogle · 15/03/2011 18:19

day 6, level 1 done. I do it in trainers as I really don't want ankle injuries as I run too and generally find it too hard going just in socks, but each to their own. Off for a creme egg now (my first one this season...)

Giddyup · 15/03/2011 21:31

Level 1 day 4 done, i tried to wimp out but the thought of my holiday snaps from 2 weeks ago spurred me on. Smile. I have to wear trainers as I have wooden floors which are a killer on the knees.

Lavitabellissima My scar is fine now, it is good to know someone who had a c section at the same time is further into the shred than me with no problems. well done on the weight loss!

Pixiestix if you could see the state of me you would see why I am desperate to sort myself out. Every time I shred my bottoms slip down and my vest rolls up so if I glance down all I can see is hectares of rippling, wobbling mummy tummy.

Newbeginning1 · 15/03/2011 22:12

Hi all

Am I ok to hop on this thread to see how you're all doing? I'd not even heard of the 30 day shred but I'm very intrigued and inspired by you all.

Am I right in thinking you have to do it for 30 days consecutively? What happens if you miss a day because I'm rubbish and I know on the days I work I'll find something else to do Hmm
