Im starting the 30 day shred on Monday and ive seen alot of you have orderd it or are also starting monday.

Was wondering if it was a good idea to measure ourselfs in the top of our thighs, tummy, hips and whatever else in inchs to see how much we loose from where, also adding our height and weight aswell

we could put our measurements on before we start then update it after our 30 day shred?

I will measure myself over the weekend and update this thread in time for monday incase anyones intrested, or would just like to hear the results

Day 5 done here but have had a really, really bad day food wise (pizza for lunch and Chinese for dinner Blush ) so might need to shred twice tomorrow! Grin

When are you guys going to re-measure? Or are you going to wait until the 30 days are up?

Lavitabellissima · 11/03/2011 08:00

I'm going to wait for the 30 days before I measure, SIL said I looked slimmer yesterday though, result Grin

I've also got really sore knees, what sort of warm ups should I do as an extra? I've been doing level 2 this week, going to do level 3 next week them alternate for the last 9 days. Think I'll do the 60 day shred though Smile

Giddyup · 11/03/2011 11:19

Please may I join the party albeit a little late? My DVD arrived a moment ago and I am going to start it today.

I will get corrrect measurements later but I am huge. DD is 17 weeks and I have barely lost anything since she was born.

pixiestix · 11/03/2011 11:28

Giddyup - do join! I started a week after everybody else, and we all seem to be on different days anyway as people miss the odd session, so it really doesn't matter whereabouts in the 30 days you are.

Supposed to be doing day 6 today but have just started the period from hell - first one for 16 months due to pregnancy. Typical! Angry So really not feeling like shredding, but want to curl up on the sofa with a mug of hot chocolate and a girly film.

caughtinanet · 11/03/2011 14:00

Lavitabellissima - I'm having to miss some bits out as my right knee is still sore - is level 2 heavy on the knees ?

Day 7 done and the press ups seems a bit easier, not sure I can see any difference yet.

anon80 · 11/03/2011 15:10

Day 1 on level 2, (day 11 done!!!)

CAUGHT - Just done level 2 for the first time - my right knee popped! but i didnt warm up properly- stupid- The warm up in the dvd is not enough IMO, you should do your own, mainly on your knees, hips and ankles.

Struggled alittle and couldnt do everything, maybe will be able to do it properly after a couple more days. Worked out hard though, sweating afterwards and felt so hot, my shower had to be COLD!

I haven't had time to shred today. Will try and fit it in tomorrow.

bogle · 11/03/2011 16:53

Day 3, level one done. Going to shred every day mon-fri next week.

tulpe · 11/03/2011 17:22

Well done everyone for keeping going :)

I am supposed to be doing Day 4 level 1 today but have left it too late. I will be shredding over the weekend though. Have definitely not had as much tenderness in my abs today so hopefully that's my body adjusting Hmm rather than my not having worked as hard as I could yesterday :o

What kind of regime are people following with days on/off the dvd? Are we supposed to do 30 days straight? Because surely with regular exercise programs they recommend a day off every so often?

Nagoo · 11/03/2011 17:28

hi, I've been lurking. On other threads most people do 6 of 7 days. I'm on day 22 and I've had 2 days off, if I feel really crap I'll do level 1 instead.

I just wanted to say that level 2 is really hard, and those v raises made me want to die, but level 3 not so bad :) keep going and you won't have to do level 2 any more!

SilveryMoon · 11/03/2011 17:32

Hey all.
Sorry for absence. Ds2 has chicken pox.

I've just done day 1, level 1. Wow! It's similar to something I've done before, but felt like I was going to die!
My pelvic floor did not like all the jumping, so think a pad is the way to go next time Blush
That 20 minutes felt like an hour!!
How will I manage that every day?????
Also not sure I did all of it right, not sure if my back was completely straight or if I was positioned right for the push-ups

5DollarShake · 11/03/2011 17:34

I did Day 10 today, day 5 of level 2. Those v-raises absolutely kill!!

Am going to move to level 3 on Monday (Saturday and Sunday off).

anon80 · 11/03/2011 17:49

TULPE- Im doing 10 days level 1, then a day off, 10 days of level 2, then a day off and then 10 days of level 3- then that will be the first time ive compleated it, when i get to the vaery last day ill think about how im going to continue doing it!

I have just done day 1 level 1. I don't feel too bad but couldn't do the push ups or bicycle crunches for toffee so that may be why! I can't find a tape measure at the moment but am 5'7" and a size 16 Sad. Breast feeding is not the magic weight loss tool for me that it is for others! It wasn't with DS either but as DD was 10lb I had high hopes that feeding her would melt all those pregnancy pies away Smile

WhatsWrongWithYou · 11/03/2011 20:18

Hi all can I come late to the table?

Just done day1 level1 - tried before a few months ago but only managed three or four times in a two week period Blush.

I find if throw myself into it the muscle pain is so bad afterwards that I don't want to do it again, so I've decided to start gently.

I ignore Gillian's cries of 'push!' and talk of the burn - I reckon that's allowed for a nearly-48-yo with a dodgy back who hates exercise.

Those of you finding their knees hurt (I found this last time as well), a good knee-strengthening exercise here:
Balance on the edge of a step or the bottom stair, your heels hanging over the edge. Keeping your knees straight, slowly raise onto your toes, then slowly back down again to below the step level. Repeat with each leg individually, building up to 15 reps at each stage. I think this is a general leg-toning exercise, but it always strengthens my knees and got me through a weeks' ski-ing at half-term! Hope this makes sense.

Stats:
Height - 5' 7''
Weight - 10st 4lb (64.8k)
Bust - 36''
Waist - 31''
Hips - 39''
Thighs - 22''

I'm hoping to lose the last 10lbs left over from my 2st gain about 3 years ago. I've been sort of doing SW but its emphasis on syns has got me back into old sugar-addicted habits, so my weight loss has been painfully slow, and I find each time I go on holiday and relax I go back several months in weight loss terms.

But I know this is not really about weight loss as such, and I mainly want to wear trousers and jeans without feeling conscious of a saggy arse/muffin top.

Looking forward to reading about more successes! (That was long Blush)

MittzyBittzyTeenyWeeny · 12/03/2011 07:55

I have missed a couple of days as a nasty cough/cold and heavy period have floored me Sad

I do feel the benefits of what I have already done though.

I am not sure what to do today as not feeling better yet.

I had started level 2 but might do level 1 just to keep at it. But call the paramedics first!

anon80 · 12/03/2011 10:30

Day 2, level 2 done!! (day 12)

Didnt even finish it though, couldnt do the last circuit, really pushed aswell but was just too much today.

This is killing me!! i want to go back to level 1!!

bogle · 12/03/2011 11:49

day 4 level 1 done, wasn't even going to shred today, but 20 mins? i can manage that. clothes def looser too.

Giddyup · 12/03/2011 14:05

day 2 level 1 done and I am feeling it now!

Tortoise · 12/03/2011 16:23

No shred for me today unless i find time later tonight.

Anon If you are struggling go back to level 1 for a bit longer. It is better to do well on level 1 than it is to not to well on level 2! There is no rush to move up a level. Smile

SilveryMoon · 12/03/2011 17:02

I'm hoping to level 1 day 2 a bit later. Dp will be here though, so not doubt he'll be laughing his head off

WhatsWrongWithYou · 12/03/2011 19:29

Day 2 level 1 done - felt okay but held back again. I think this is the best way for me to do it tbh; I was a bit achey but in the main feeling stronger today, which motivated me to carry on.
< Big talk from a day2-er >

Lavitabellissima · 13/03/2011 07:55

I am definitely feeling better, will start doing extra knee strength exercises.
It'sMotivating me to eat a little better.
