Hello hello

Am speed reading and trying to keep up, with DD1 age 7 reading over my shoulder. She thinks theallnewoooh is the best and funniest poster name by the way!

OWW I am sure your dream home will come up and won't have a petrol station opposite it - in the meantime I hope you can treat yourself to a small item or two as you are virtually saving money by not moving!

Notyummy I do hope your little girl is on the mend, she sounds adorable and it must have been horrendous for you

Fleecy congrats and enjoy the maternity clothes shopping!

That red Marchesa dress from the Outnet for my black tie do came, and went back - just wasn't quite right so I am wisely using some of the funds for some outstanding shoes if I can find the right pair in time!

Have had an annoying time with Reiss and that Minna lace top - my local branch ordered one in for me but screwed up and ordered in something else completely different, popped in on Sat to pick it up (already paid for) and it was an utter shambles. Have now ordered it online and can't wait for it to arrive - I think perfect for "smart casual" at work with the right trousers (another story...) and a longish necklace.

Worked 4 days last week and back FT in mid March, was good to be back if a little draining as baby is a bit of an early riser. Childcare arrangements went well which was a real relief.

Hope everyone who has had a tough time recently (and there are a few of you) has a better time this week.

Feel like I am waffling now, and baby waking up, Bonsoir I am interested in any white jean ideas which come up!

Fleecy · 14/02/2011 10:33

Slept through the alarm this morning so mad dash to get DC ready - only to find DD has chickenpox. Eeek!

Luckily I've already had it as has DH but we are both horrified at the thought of housebound DC for a week!

oooh like that skirt there.

mac glad you sorted the hair. Bet you're looking very glam and your DH is missing out!

Forgot to say we celebrated 11 years together on Saturday. DH made a lame joke about life sentences... Pah! He's a lucky man and he knows it Wink

DarrellRivers · 14/02/2011 10:40

Have had my delivery of the ASOS ARCTIC Suede Crepe Wedges With Shearling and the Bertie Precy Tie Front Crepe Wedge Boots - Brown

Unfortunately the ASOS ones were unsafe, too wobbly although bargainaceous at £28 and the Bertie ones just didn't look right

So I am going to try the Clarkes desert boots as recommended earlier in thread.

I need some Breton tops so will pootle to HM later in the week, think have seen some of you have been purchasing

Morning all! We were released from hospital today and the sun is shining. DH is going to take DD to the park for a little run around as she is going stirt crazy from lack of fresh air - despite getting breathless at speed! He then has to head away for another couple of weeks.

Have done my best to catch up, but apologies to those I have missed.

Anniemac - Glad to hear that your hair is sorted! I once had a bad haircut and blowdry right before I went to my MBA graduation ceremony. I never went to my original degree graduation ceremony, so was to determined to do the whole Gown/scroll/photos thing for that one - I look sooooo bizarre in the shots. The next time I went to the hairdresser, DH said 'I didn't want to say anything on the day as it didn't seem helpful....but please tell me you are not planning to have your hair done like you did for the MBD grad?!'

Fleecy - Sorry to hear about the chickenpox. I know they are often mild when children your DCs age get them, but the difficulties of trying to juggle sick children and work obligations is one that is close to my heart at the moment...

Feelingsensitive - So sorry to hear about your FIL.

Blossoming - Loving the sound of your outfit on Saturday night!

Zembo - So pleased to hear that you are feeling a bit better. Please don't try and do too much.

Picked - That Outnet dress link made me do this Shock! No wonder it is considerably reduced....

Not much S and B action here. This is the long dress I have for my posh do. I know it looks a bit dodgy in the picture (and yes, Caprice is not my style guru...) but is actually flattering on as it accentuates my top half and waist whilst skimming over the bottom half that I am not so keen on. Have invested in some tit tape (thanks for the links ladies!) and some 'Magicups' (what a great name!) from Figleaves so should be good to go.

I am loving all the sandals and wedges I have seen in the press over the last few days. What do we think of // A good mixture of practixal and on-trend....or straying into footglove/Per Una territory? Let me know ladies!!

Wow at the dress notyummy. I can see how one would require extra support though! Hope they work! I'm so glad your dd's been discharged.

What's this vino about warmer weather? Snow on the hills here today. Really cold rain falling and some wind too.

Sorry about your fil feelingsensitive. Hope you're okay.

Right, after seeing tulpe's photo on another thread, I shall definitely entertain the possibility of wearing a maxi dress this year. Gosh, could I be more slow to pick up a trend? So that's houli-likies, now maxis. Not clogs though, not on my feet! Maybe an espadrille wedge.

blossoming · 14/02/2011 12:19

Whilst looking for maxi dress inspiration, I found this Wink.

notyummy · 14/02/2011 12:22

Look away Bloss - stay focussed on the mission! Grin

OllieWollieWoo · 14/02/2011 12:28

Wow - Tulpe's dress (and her in it) look stunning. Wonder what sort of material it was eg jersey or chiffony?
Bloss red one here to help pop your maxi cherry so to speak? here

White jean talk - I got a fab pair from Monsoon last year - they were 7/8's so finished on the ankle. Very flattering as not low waisted so flatten the tum. The other pair I have is a straight leg pair from the Indigo range at M&S - only 20 pounds so good for a trial pair if you're not sure about white jeans?

Any Valentine's surprises?

DarrellRivers · 14/02/2011 12:29

Hello back to AnnieMac, I didn't know you hung out on here, lovely suprise.
It is so lovely and sunny today, I want to wear spring things, but it is suprisingly chilly out

roary · 14/02/2011 12:33

Wow, just saw Fleecy's news. Bit slow on the uptake! Congrats.

NY yay for your daughter. And what a relief for you. I like your Caprice dress.

MrsJ I think I might order the Boden blazer and try it. Surely the comedy lining can't be that visible?? I will report. It otherwise ticks all my boxes although the Isabella O one was perfect....to that end any good Boden codes?

notyummy · 14/02/2011 12:33

bloss - surely these beauties will convert you to clogs?? Wink

My link was rubbish earlier - any thoughts on

these?

I can't decide if they are potentially both comfy and cool...or grannylike!

OllieWollieWoo · 14/02/2011 12:33

Talking of red dresses - just seen WITs lastest post - gorgeous dress!

notyummy · 14/02/2011 12:34

Those maxis are bargainous OWW.

OllieWollieWoo · 14/02/2011 12:42

I know NY - saw them last year. They had a lovely navy one with a very thin white horizontal stripe on which I'm on the look for this year. The only maxi I have is cotton chambray one and its yet to be worn other than on holiday.

Those are very nice, but I can't do acres of cleavage (feel naked)
I have a very nice black T shirt maxi which is quite fitted which looks gorgeous and not voluminous.
It is a little day to day.
I would like something a little more colourful, but not hideously printed like most are

notyummy · 14/02/2011 12:57

Annie - 4 is nothing, nothing I tell you. Times that by 5 or 6 and you come close to the number I have Blush

Bonsoir · 14/02/2011 12:59

Damn, OWW, I just got back from Monsoon but didn't think to look for white jeans there - I was looking for things for DD and found a really gorgeous navy and white striped playsuit. It will look uber cute with metallic or beaded flip flops, her new pink Bonpoint jeans jacket and her Hello Kitty sunglasses. Roll on summer...
