Zembo - love the velvet jeans - glamorous and bargainous Smile

Bonsoir · 17/02/2011 20:50

pickledsiblings - very sweet pale blue Gap top! I wear yellow with anything! Love yellow - when DD and I were in Le Bon Marché earlier I tried a gorgeous yellow wide brimmed sun hat on and it looked fab. You could buy the bag and wear it now with navy and later on with red/orange/white colour block?

AntPants1 · 17/02/2011 20:55

pickled love the bag. I have just got this from Boden www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Accessories/Bags/AM139/Womens-Leather-Trim-Tote.html

zembo love the jeans. Hope you have clicked buy...

PlumSykes · 17/02/2011 21:01

Evening!

Just back from an early Thai supper with DH to talk kitchens. Have got the project manager and the architect coming round tomorrow pm to talk through exactly what we want, ready to make building reg. drawings. I really need to make final decisions, but just keep cutting pics out of Living Etc and sticking them to a big piece of card instead. It is fun though, am starting to see what DD sees in cutting and sticking!

Love the yellow bag, pickled. I wear that shade a lot, with navy or charcoal, primarily.

I had a day in London yesterday, working in an office next door to a Uniqlo stores. Spent the day gazing at the graphics in the windows, then hotfooted it in there at 6pm! Lots of good stuff, including navy jersey blazer that's not online, gorgeous thick cotton jersey breton dresses, and some great khakis. The skinny cargos looked great, but are not for my legs.

pickledsiblings · 17/02/2011 21:10

That's a great bag Ant. I like the blue as well.

I love to wear grey and I'm not sure that a yellow bag would work with the sludgy grey that I love.

Bonsoir, blondes look great in yellow...I am not blonde. Does your DD wear yellow. If she does, this yellow striped top is very cheap lovely. Unfortunately it is not DD's colour; She will of course be getting the navy/white one (can you ever have too many stripes Grin?)

I'll have to keep looking for a bag that will work.

blossoming · 17/02/2011 21:11

Which Thai was it plum? I love our kitchen. Spent years planning it. Oak and granite with smeg oven and fridge.

PlumSykes · 17/02/2011 21:14

Bloss, is a place called Bangkok Cafe, on Cowbridge Rd East, not been there long. Quite trendy-wendy, but yum. Have eaten faaaar too much, but still made room for 2 party rings with my cuppa when I got home.

pickledsiblings · 17/02/2011 21:17

x posts Plum. You say yellow and charcoal works - yeah! Do you wear the colour somewhere else in your outfit?

How exciting to be getting a new kitchen. I can recommend white corian worktops Smile.

AntPants1 · 17/02/2011 21:20

pickled I agree with plum yellow and charcoal go really well. I am planing to wear my bag with White skinnies or dark denim and tan shoes....also have summer navy wrap dress that I think will look good with it. Will team with my tan T bar shoes.

Fleecy · 17/02/2011 21:33

plum I did a lot of research into worktops - wanted a wow kitchen on a smallish budget. We got these solid surface ones. I really like them - you get the extra thickness and seamless finish of expensive worktops but because they're not solid all the way through, they're relatively cheap. Would recommend solid surface for practical reasons as well as the look and feel - scratches can be sanded out, more heat resistant than laminate and will last longer.

I'm loving all the yellow. Just the thing for spring. I have a charcoal angora dress I wear with mustard wool tights. Also like yellow with white but still a bit wintry for that.

pickledsiblings · 17/02/2011 21:38

That sounds like a well thought out bag purchase Ant Smile.

The BR bag definitely will not go with this dress, perhaps I should order the dress in the other colourway. Is it right to let a bag dictate what dress I buy Grin?

OllieWollieWoo · 17/02/2011 21:40

Anyone else watching the new style Masterchef? I know I'm not keen on change (!) but this business of them having to to start cooking in front of relatives, load it on a trolley and go and cook for 5 mins in front of Greg and John to gain an apron is quite bizarre! Its like X factor for food!

DH just packing for his little jaunt to Cologne - he is like a scout about to go on his first camping trip - ie a bit excited! Sweet really. (Got him to agree to a family trip over around Easter tho - let the pre-visit shopping commence!)

OllieWollieWoo · 17/02/2011 21:52

Pickled - I know this bag is nothing like the style of the nice one you linked to, but I thought this was a good yellow buy during my Betty Jackson at Debenhams trawl!

AntPants1 · 17/02/2011 22:07

Oh that's a nice bag ollie

roary · 17/02/2011 22:19

DOes anyone subscribe to the Guardian Fashion Statement email? (www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2011/feb/17/new-york-fashion-week-mulberry?&CMP=EMCLIFEML1634 here). It's great fun and some good tips.

One of Isabella O's founders has started her own label (which explains why the irritating emails from 'the girls' are no more, there is only one girl now!). It's obviously just started up but some lovely things. Including MATERNITY, Carciofi!! It's here.

Zembo hope you are recovering well!

We are still missing lots of friends - hells, roma, monkeys and cake, off the top of my head. Wave to you if you are just too busy to post!

everything how rude! I adore your DS's name. Good work on the boots and jumper though Smile

Zembo · 18/02/2011 08:43

Bonsoir and ants thanks for jeans feedback, I'm going to have another trying on session and hopefully will keep

Mumsnut · 18/02/2011 09:01

Great scarf find, Tracey.

Can I ask, is Cake ok? Hopefully just busy moving, not a Cod-gate-type problem .

AllBuggiedOut · 18/02/2011 09:55

Morning all!

Still nothing of interest fashion-wise here - although have booked to go on a House of Colour image and style day in a couple of weeks, after which I will need to get a shift on with Spring/summer and party!

On the subject of which, can anybody recommend anywhere online I can get some 40th party invitations designed and printed? I don't need anything fancy, but nor do I particularly want to do-it-myself on the computer.

carciofi · 18/02/2011 10:02

Morning everyone.

I am about to have a driving lesson and dreading it. Luckily I have my full license and don't have to do the test again but have not driven in 14 years and a bit nervcous! Trips to Westfield will be much easier with a car though.

Zembo, I like the jeans. I looked up the Hermes bags, they are beautiful but wow they are expensive.

The yellow bags are lovely.

Roary, nice maternity clothes though I don't need anything else and still have not worn my tops. I bought my very expensive COH Avas a size too big for some stupid reason and they are slipping down, argh! I have worn them so I can't exchange them.

Everything, great about the compliments, ignore the rest!

The pale blue little clothes are sweet.

OWW, I had red Converse that I did like but they are wrecked now.

I have ordered the Boden red clogs and this pink scarf with the voucher. Just got to save for a bag now. :)

I like the IO stripey dress but do you think it makes the model look a bit bulky around the waist (and no doubt she is not!).

LTEC said that they are staying put now and seemed happy about it.

carciofi · 18/02/2011 10:04

nervcous? So nervous I can't spell!

AllBuggiedOut · 18/02/2011 10:06

Yes carciofi, I thought that about the IO dress too.
