Not that I've been on the old one much Blush)

Zembo - how exciting about your looming big birthday! Extortionate price for the Constance isn't it? I had diamond earrings (a surprise) for my 40th. Was lovely. Dh had taken a lot of care over the cut and brilliance of the diamonds (this time...didn't give a fig when buying the engagement ring, 20 years ago!!!!) and I love them. A classic. Failing that, what about an 'heirloom' watch?

blossoming · 17/02/2011 13:53

dolcee, there is a Tod's advert on page 11 of the Times today and there are some gorgeous sandals and bag in it!
I think EA would maybe dress like this in warmer weather. Sigh..
Why is my taste so expensive?! It's not going to change now though at 40 I don't think!

AntPants1 · 17/02/2011 13:53

bloss EA does not get hot.......

DarrellRivers · 17/02/2011 13:57

zembo
Am liking your two wardrobes.
I have similar, my English clothes as my MIL calls it and then stuff for weddings and family get-togethers (on my DH's side)
What I find hardest is the fusion side of things as the Asian dress code seems so so much sparkly than my natural calling of knits, trousers and dresses.

blossoming · 17/02/2011 14:05

Helpful Ant Wink.
Dd waking up. I think I've made some progress (if you can call coveting a 'everyday' biker jacket at £369 progress..)

AntPants1 · 17/02/2011 14:11

I know bloss. I aim to please Wink

So I got Johnnie's voucher too. Have bought some White straight leg jeans and some stuff for DD...oops.

Noticed that the kids shoes go up to a size 39 at kiddie prices. Am thinking I might get some ballerinas at those prices....www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Girls-Shoes/Shoes/39070-BPK/Girls-Fuchsia-Leather-Ballet-Flats.html?NavGroupID=134 I have ordered them in yellow for DD so will make a decision once I see them.

OllieWollieWoo · 17/02/2011 14:40

Ants I saw those grey pump thingys online yesterday and liked.

Carciofi I have some coral coloured converse I brought last year - and have yet to wear! Just seem too bright on my (big'ish) feet! Have worn my grey ones to death tho and will do again!
NY - did you enjoy The Help too?

Happy sunny day here. DS1's friend loved the banana bread and his Mum gave DS1 a big kiss - very funny to see his "erggh get orf me " reaction!!
Am trying to arrange a wine tasting evening for the parents from DS1s class - what a faff trying to pin down dates etc.

Need some inspiration - whats everyone giving their DCs for dinner today?

blossoming · 17/02/2011 14:54

Chilli con carne. No chilli, no kidney beans Wink. Mushrooms and passata to make it different from bolognese. With rice. Cheese on top.

DarrellRivers · 17/02/2011 15:02

Tonight we are having turkey and sweetcorn meatballs with red pepper sauce-ottolenghi style

traceybath · 17/02/2011 15:35

Pasta and pesto Hmm Plates will be licked clean.

DS1 saw me making yorkshire pudding batter at the weekend and couldn't believe I made them as apparently 'but mummy they're so yummy - like they're bought from a shop' double Hmm

moragbellingham · 17/02/2011 15:53

Ants - I bought those Boden flats in Navy and pale pink!
They are quite matt and am now returning them for the fuschia (with the voucher).
V. comfortable and fairly high toe i.e. no cleavage.

traceybath · 17/02/2011 16:01

Morag - keep meaning to say I have small feet so the zara wedges were available online in a size 3 when I ordered them - you got some in the end didn't you?

Dolcee - I like those trousers - let us know what they're like.

Did anyone get grazia this week - cute little skirt from new look with lemons on it.

moragbellingham · 17/02/2011 16:03

Actually have just retried them on and they come up too highConfused

pickledsiblings · 17/02/2011 16:26

Good ol' spag bol here tonight.

Bloss, just for you. I was wondering what she wore in the summer too. It seems that she wears a 'lighter' version of what she wears in the winter - white based bretons, paler denim, white blazer, open footwear etc. But still with black somewhere.

She doesn't like to wear dresses apparently. Make sure you do that thing where you tuck the front of your t shirt in so we can see your belt buckle Wink.

pickledsiblings · 17/02/2011 16:29

Ladies, 25% off gap denim today, I have spent a fortune - denim jacket anyone?

Bonsoir · 17/02/2011 17:41

Went shopping with DD this afternoon, after a very enjoyable mini MN meetup in Parc Monceau and a lovely lunch with DP in our favourite small Italian restaurant.

I almost did something very silly: I spotted the most gorgeous pair of leopard skin clogs Blush Blush in a size 31 and I encouraged DD to try them on. They did look über fabulous. But could she walk in them? She nearly broke her ankle walking across the children's shoe dept of Le Bon Marché. Good sense prevailed (assisted by the disapproving look of the salesperson - obviously not the same person as the buyer!).

We then browsed swimwear and DD tried this swimsuit and dress and looked so completely gorgeous in them that we ended up buying them. Horribly expensive, but I have a mini excuse in that a friend of mine started Stella Cove, so I am supporting a female entrepreneur Smile

blossoming · 17/02/2011 17:45

Great link pickled. The t-shirt partially tucked in is very IO catalogue too. I'm not sure I'm cool enough, my belts most definitely are not!

blossoming · 17/02/2011 17:58

bonsoir, I am so envious of your day. The swimwear is fabulous.

moragbellingham · 17/02/2011 18:07

tracey - yes, I found some wedges in Oxford Circus. Loving themSmile

bonsoir - that set is so lovely, I'm so fed up with seeing brightly coloured/character swimwear everywhere.

notyummy · 17/02/2011 18:11

Ordered that ASOS stuff- free next day delivery as well today so good deal all round.

Feeling PMTish and grumpy. After barking 'WHAT?!!!' at dd she has flounced to her bedroom telling me 'until you learn to control your temper I will be staying in here.' (Which is what I say to her when I send her to her room when she is being foul Hmm.)

Yes I did enjoy the Help OWW. Have finally moved on to the 3rd of the Lisbeth Salander mysteries.... About 2 years after I started the first one!

Zembo · 17/02/2011 19:18

NY I watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo recently and really enjoyed it. I've got the book to read too, but will take me forever as usual Smile

Bonsoir lovely swimsuit and dress, hope you're feeling better today.

My python clutch arrived and is just gorgeous, BUT it's not quite the right colour so will be going back Sad. DH's input was that it's not very versatile as doesn't go with anything in my wardrobe - have to admit he's right! I also ordered these Notify jeans - very bargainous and a good fit, but never had velvet trousers before - what do you think ladies? The cut is slightly bootcut, wondering if the velvet + bootcut = frumpy???? Probably overthinking it because I'm not that much of a jeans person and just being seduced by the discount.

AntPants1 · 17/02/2011 19:29

pickled love the belt in the EA link! Also love love the blue animal print top she is wearing. Any ideas on something similar but affordable?!!!!!

notyummy · 17/02/2011 19:40

Just wondering if these cheap (ish!) MIH bootcuts were of interest to anyone??

pickledsiblings · 17/02/2011 20:44

Ladies, what do you think of this yellow bag from BR? How does one 'wear' a yellow bag? Bonsoir? I guess you need some yellow somewhere else in your outfit...belt?...scarf?...necklace?

I love that swimsuit and dress Bonsoir. If your DD looks nice in that colour, you may like this gap shirt that I have just ordered for DD.

I have found the perfect navy blazer...for DH Grin.
