Thanks for all the dolly links. Have been spending ages on Etsy looking at the Waldorf ones. But some cost over £100!!!! (!!!) They are gorgeous and will get a cheaper one for DD, it's perfect. I showed her and she just sighed longingly at the screen. It is her 3rd b'day next month.

Emo76 · 15/02/2011 19:30

annie I'd LOVE to see your photo if at all possible - it sounds like you have very similar hair to me and the feedback on your shorter cut is so positive it might give me the courage to do similar.

Hunting for trousers ladies and I found these from FC and fell off my chair laughing thought they were really hideous.

Connected to that though, I do NEED some navy trousers for work and I'm stuck in a trouser timewarp - I have never even tried on pleated or peg legged styles, I fear they will not flatter me (size 14, 5 ft 9). Any suggestions please? Would the pantomime ones work in RL?!

blossoming · 15/02/2011 19:42

emo76, I absolutely love my skinny jeans and when I got some work late last year I thought of finding some cigarette leg trousers or a skinny black trouser. What I have ended up in are the Gap modern boot. I still think they're the best and the smartest work option, with a nice heel (lace up shoeboot R&B). Not very helpful, sorry.

redllama, I must remember to put FC on my list of must visits for tomorrow!

Off to work on my 6 pack. I expect it will magically appear come Friday.

AntPants1 · 15/02/2011 19:58

Damm just lost post...

So again...frizi you look amazing and talk to me about your walk in sex in the city style closet...!

Annie I cannot see your photo...

So work still a bit meh so had a look in Reis in my lunch hour to cheer myself up. This top was surprisingly nice

mobile.reissonline.com/shop/womens/tops/heidi/black_cream_print/

I would wear with pencil skirt and wide black belt. So now I need a wide black belt...there was a similar top in whistles- but I can't find it on ASOS to link. So will try that on to.

ants We divided the small and dark room next to our bedroom, knocked through the wall and hey presto: a small walk-in closet and tiny en-suite Grin. I think it's my favourite part of our house!

emo You probably need to try on many different styles and see what looks best. I didn't buy my first pair of skinny jeans until last summer because I always thought they wouldn't suit me. Can you go RL shopping and take a friend for an honest opinion? Any particular style you like?

bonsoir Forgot to say earlier: Credits for the lovely Elias and Grace link goes to marsha Smile.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/02/2011 20:11

vin Such great news about the job offer. Well done you! How long do you have until you have to make a decision?

FritziGreenEyes · 15/02/2011 20:14

notyummy Alternative for cheap and comfy wedge or too grannyish too? Hmm

redllamayellowllama · 15/02/2011 20:17

Go Vin! All very exciting. What is your gut telling you?

FritziGreenEyes · 15/02/2011 20:19

apuski Just thought of you as DH arrived back from an overnight stay in Essen. He didn't enjoy it, bet you are not surprised Grin.

ollie Cologne on the other is a great city. Warn your DH to be prepared that Carnival might in full swing there. Pubs might be really busy with drunken people in fancy dress.

KILDARE4 · 15/02/2011 20:21

Vin Congrats on job offer, well done you! If you get the other role it sure will be a quality problem! Which job will I take?!

Fritzi You look fab in your photo, I am madly envious of your walk in wardrobe Envy.

Annie May I see your photo please Smile?

Bloss I really like those trousers, how do they size? I find Gap can huge!

AntPants1 · 15/02/2011 20:27

Well frizi your closet looks the business!

vin well done you!! what a great delema to have, two jobs to choose from!

Emo try the Boden straight leg if you are nervous about skinnies. They are a great cut. I am 5"9 and was a size 14 when I bought some last summer and I felt great in them.

AntPants1 · 15/02/2011 20:28

Dilemma, dur.....!

MarshaBrady · 15/02/2011 20:43

Vin fabulous!! Well done, first notyummy dazzles the employment scene, now you! Smile

Aw thanks Fritz re E&G.

But now I am feeling custard-y. I want to do more work. Either freelance or more work at home. I need to sort this out. I suppose I could advertise for a nanny. The best nannies at ds' school are all booked for the next year bah.

My life is swimming by and I need to make sure I can do either career in the future for goodness sake.

Although there are others on here that will go back to work when their children are at school, and remain calm. Should I be calm about this....?

No need to answer really just thinking out loud. But fabulous work Vin!

MarshaBrady · 15/02/2011 20:48

And in reality both lines of work are ticking along without me doing much at all. But I should do something soon. Sorry ignore me!

blossoming · 15/02/2011 20:50

Well done vin. Sleep on it and do what you think is right for you and ds.
marsha, I want more, more regular work too.
Kildare, I have the US 6. I am boyish shaped and they're a great fit. I can be 10 or 12 depending on shop, 29 in jbrand.

MarshaBrady · 15/02/2011 20:51

Has anyone got something like this toy for their toddler? Is it good?

Back to s&b very soon, have done some orders, here this week!

I had a g&t already Grin probably reason for blurt.

I need to wait til April anyway, new tax year an' all.

Sooo when do you have let first one know?

FritziGreenEyes · 15/02/2011 21:20

vin Thanks, but my lumps and bumps are just well hidden. Smile I'm so glad to hear you are feeling positive about your job prospects. Maybe it's best not to rush the decision which job to go for. Have you done a pros/cons list?

marsha Could you share a nanny with someone from school? Or do freelance work from home?

On that note: We got an invitation for a black-tie do but we can't go as I have already a work commitment I really can't miss, arghh. Have been browsing NAP evening gowns anyway

OllieWollieWoo · 15/02/2011 21:22

Vin well done you - what a great achievement - even tho its horrible having to choose!

AnnieMac - can only agree with the others - I love your new cut.

Emo - they are not blue but I've ordered the Dotty P 7/8's in black here to see how they fit - will report back. I think with trouser styles, its a question of just trying them on to see what suits. I hate buying trousers for that reason!!! These New Look ones look good and are in navy here

Have been without emails all afternoon as someone sent me a whopping great photo (of teacups!!) that messed up the server - was a bit Shock at how uptight I got not knowing what emails I was missing!

OllieWollieWoo · 15/02/2011 21:25

Fritzi - love the thought of DH sitting in a pub surrounded by clowns etc! They celebrate Carnival here but not until the first week of March - far bigger event in the south of Holland tho. Meant to say on the Bloch/Brand Alley thread - I can send you my sisters UK postcode if you want to join?!

OllieWollieWoo · 15/02/2011 21:30

One more thing - I'm in the middle of reading The Help - and its a fantastic book. Love the way its written - am totally wrapped up with all of rhe characters. Would highly recommend.

Lots of W&A's absent at the mo - hope everything is ok with you all?

loobylu3 · 15/02/2011 21:34

Can I just ask really quickly if anyone with a navy Janice has tried washing it yet?

I just washed mine for the first time. Instructions say 40 deg and I did it on a handwash cycle to be extra carefully. It has come back looking shrunk and totally out of shape!
I will wait until it is dry/ ironed but it doesn't look promising at present. :(

I also have the striped one and it washes perfectly but it is a different fabric.
