wedged heel shoes Its just to give you an idea of the style I meant.

DolceeBanana · 09/02/2011 10:16

Nice shoes Tracey.

Yes, watched BFGW last night and was Shock at all most of it. What can I say?.....
The sight of women (who presumably weren't Gypsies) 'mooning', I believe it's called, summed the programme up. Very watchable though in a sort of rubber-necking kind of way. Grin

Oh Verity, a paint class sounds fab. I want to do something like this when DCs all at school...long way off though!

Zembo - nice things...hope you are going from strength to strength....Smile

Bloss - match outfit sounded perfect!

Feelingsensitive · 09/02/2011 10:23

petitdonkey - am very [envy[ at your clothes. They are fab.

blossoming · 09/02/2011 10:33

Have just been clicking on links and I really like the 7/8s you linked to ollie, although what I think I might do is get the Gap straight legs and turn them up. Just to get them exactly right. I do like the thought of them very much. Until I clicked on notyummy's last link. I just love the skinny jean, and I liked the skinny combats with the sky high heels and blouse.
In fact I intend to go rock chick out on Saturday night. Black skinnies, black suede very high shoe boots, black (bloss) top - show off shredded arms, and a black jacket/cardigan! I might wear the Pure jacket on top, in case I scare the children.
I also liked your FC dress petitdonkey, and zembo, that belt especially is to die for.
Good luck with the job feelingsensitive. I do think things work out the way they're supposed to, so if if doesn't work out, there will be something a much better fit around the corner. Fingers crossed.

exhaused, I could be quite keen I think, although I clearly need some training on interactive whiteboards! Wait and see. I think a full time job would have meant lots of extra-curricular activities including trips abroad and exchanges (shudder). I can't commit to that.
The experience has made that clear in my mind at least.
Sorry to hear of your dc's allergies. We had epi pen training in my last school. It gives you peace of mind I'm sure.

TheAllNewOoooh · 09/02/2011 11:52

I am lusting after this with belt.

Will it sort out my colour-blocked shape gap in my wardrobe, or is there a whiff of the baton twirler about it?

Oh and if you know of a cheap knock off anywhere I'd love you forever. Far too spiny for something which I think would only last a season.

MarshaBrady · 09/02/2011 12:56

Yes that is lovely! Oooh.

blossoming · 09/02/2011 12:56

dolcee, were you looking for a white shirt?

OP posts:
TheAllNewOoooh · 09/02/2011 13:02

Good point Marsha, viscose is not quite so lustworthy in my book.

GeorginaWorsley · 09/02/2011 13:15

Glad my French Connection dress is approved of!

Ollie the DP trousers are great for the price, imo.Def worth a try.
Can I recommend this Breton top.
Lovely stretchy thicker weight material.

DolceeBanana · 09/02/2011 13:22

Oh bloss, it's lovely...thank you! Might give it a whirl as have been looking for ages.

Rock chick is a good look by the way. Wink

Now, have decided that I need that LV scarf...tracey. I know someone - I keep seeing her at nursery the whole time - who has the coral one and it is indeed gorgeous. Looks beautiful on her, and I must admit to being slightly obsessed with it. I cannot find that colourway on the LV website, only the new 'gris' ...did you track it down Tracey?

DolceeBanana · 09/02/2011 13:23

Oh yes Georgina. Love the dress too. I really liked all the FC stuff myself.

OllieWollieWoo · 09/02/2011 13:24

Bloss - Gap ones look a nice fit - do they come in black too?
Petitedonkey lovely buys, esp like the blouse.
exhaustednurse - sorry to hear you've been ill - must make getting back into work that bit harder.

Zembo - that feather necklace is so nice - v wearable with a lot of things.

Are loafers still 'ok' to wear? Saw these on the DP website (yes I did have a thorough look after seeing MMs orange dress!!!) and liked - shame they are not leather. loafers Next also has some in patent leather but they seem far more shiney. Thought they would be a good cross over shoe?

Gotta go - promised DSs we would do some painting this afternoon so need to paint-proof the table - and if its anything like last time - the walls, windows and me too! Book Club tonight which will help get me through any paint-related capers!

blossoming · 09/02/2011 13:43

ollie, I tried some on in my local store a while back. I don't see them online. What happened to the big launch of the black trouser range they did?
I have decided that the Perfect trouser are not so perfect on me after all. I think they'd suit a pear better. They, ahem, pinch at the waist with me whilst flap at hip and thigh. They're fine with a heel and for a smart work option right now, but if I got a job with more hours I'd be putting in the research.
Oh dear lord, the thought of loafers on my big feet..!
dolcee, I'm always after a white shirt. I had one I wore till the fabric was so thin it was almost a hole. I got it in Jigsaw way back in 2002. I threw it out last year, but I would love another especially as I bought a white bodas nightshirt to go away last weekend, and DH loves me in that oversized white man's shirt look.
I'm currently booking our Rome trip, and think it would be a valuable addition. Best start saving!!

Hi all, apologies as I haven't yet properly caught up on the thread and links, but I have a sort of S&B question. Has anyone got recommendations on which chain opticians has got the best range of glasses for children? I'm just back from the hospital ophthalmology dept, and ds1 has to wear glasses for his squint - and may need an operation Sad - I'm feeling very protective, he's only 3.

I need a place with a good range - at the moment he says he wants pink glasses Hmm - normally I'm relaxed about pink being his fav colour, but I want to avoid increasing the possibility of teasing, so want to tempt him away from the pink ones with Thomas Tank Engine ones or something. If only they did Octonaut glasses!

Anyone got recommendations?

blossoming · 09/02/2011 13:49

While I'm at it, someone was after a navy jersey blazer too.

OP posts:
blossoming · 09/02/2011 13:51

That must be hard for you apuski. I think I got dc2's glasses from Vision Express. I can't recall a vast choice though. Maybe have a look online?

OP posts:
ApuskiDusky · 09/02/2011 14:21

Thanks bloss. Vision Express and Specsavers have some online (some Mr Tickle ones he might like), but Boots don't do online children's. On the positive side, there aren't too many pink ones either! I don't care if it's better to be open-minded, he's not having Barbie ones!!

I guess we might just have to have a wander round town.

redllamayellowllama · 09/02/2011 14:23

Just flying in to let Apuski know that I has glasses from the age of 3 and also had a very bad squint. I was never bullied about my glasses (even though I was wearing a patch for 6 months at the age of 6).

Was just talking to my Mum on skype and mentioned it - she used to let me choose my own glasses to try and encourage me to feel confident about what I was wearing (not sure about how to deal with this on the pink front). Also, she used to wear glasses for reading but wore them all the time when I first started wearing mine and encouraged other adults to do so as a way of normalising it for me. She said this worked really well.

Sad for you, but is so much better for this to have been picked up on now than years down the line.

ApuskiDusky · 09/02/2011 14:34

Cheers red, good to hear you didn't have any problems. I wear glasses so it is something he's familiar with. I've just been talking to my SIL - her daughter wears glasses sometimes, and they're visiting for the weekend soon, so they'll make sure she's got hers on - ds loves his cousin, so hopefully will want to copy her.

I think he can be gently steered away from the pink whilst still letting him choose. I hope.

Just as I have finished going to the hospital for appointments with ds2, it starts all over again with ds1! It's no biggie in the general scheme of things, just need a short 'my baby!!' reaction then can get on with it.

OllieWollieWoo · 09/02/2011 14:42

Apuski - if it helps, my twin sister had to wear them from the age of 6 and I was soooooo jealous of her glasses! They were simple gold framed ones but I was so upset I couldn't wear them too - I even tried failing an eye test! I think there are some really great frames for kids - a friend's son got some harry potter like ones which he loves!

I'm MNing to avoid looking at painting carnage.

blossoming · 09/02/2011 14:46

You poor thing apuski. Big hugs.

monkeysmama · 09/02/2011 14:50

Popping in v quickly to say the Janice is going back! Am I the only A&W woman not to like it? It did nothing for me at all. Anyway, it is a size 12 if anyone wants it instead of me sending it back (it was £35). I am sending the Phase 8 black maxi back too. It was very revealing!

Saw the earlier posts about playsuits. It'll come as no surprise that I love them Grin.

monkeysmama · 09/02/2011 14:52

Apuski hope you're feeling better about it. One of my little sisters had glasses from 3yo and I too was very jealous. One of my teenage sisters has worn them since she was 6 and she has never had any teasing problems because of them.
