Vin Have not read anything else but what a wonderful tribute to your beautiful daughter. x

macmama · 26/01/2011 23:23

Oh Vin you poor darling. What a beautiful special and brave little girl its just an incomprehensible scale of loss, the photos are beautiful (and at least one or two familiar) but its also so very sad to see her in such discomfort it must have been awful for you and her :( :(. Her eyes, her gaze, her mouth, she was just perfect and beautiful and so super bright it shines from her.

my heart breaks for you honestly its too unfair that anybody ever has to suffer such a loss and in such a way, why should you have to . I hope this charity is carthartic in some way its a great thing to be doing. xxxxx

Blue nail polish. Flares. Pink Maxi skirt. Not all together.

Contemplate these, you know you want to.

But, actually, have you seen this yellow dress.

vin that brought tears to my eyes. I can't begin to imagine what you went through, she was so perfectly gorgeous. Mac said it so well.

I admire you hugely for being so positive. The site is great and your story very honestly and eloquently written. Don't feel funny for a second about posting it here, I learned about liver disease which, you're right, I knew very little of. I'm sure you will be sailing past your target in no time, it's such a good cause.

Erm... Sunset orange toenails, wedges and bikinis!

I am an Owl, albeit one that is supposed to be asleep! Night all, not time for a proper session tonight. I'll have to make up for it tomorrow. Mind the bugs don't bite. Smile

I turn my back and its 9 pages on a new thread already??!! I cannot keep up. Truly. From the little I have been able to skim...

Zembo - oh, thank God you have a diagnosis!! Was relieved to read that. Although it sounds excruciating, so not exactly pleased for you IYKWIM.

Bloss - thanks for the offer of the Dukan book - how kind! Will PM you. I am prevaricating about the Dukan, but think I should give it a go. I like a bit of structure, I do.

Fritzi - hope you are feeling a bit better about your relationship w your DH.

I actually miss my DH - we live together, but I feel that we are almost co-existing due to all the demands from 3 young DCs (esp night feeding the twins). Which I think is damaging/v wearing on a relationship. DH doesn't feel it as much as me, but perhaps that's partly because his life hasn't been as dramatically altered due to DCs as mine has, and I throw DC changes and relationship changes together? And I yearn for a DC free weekend to spend w DH (but couldn't actually bear to be parted from the girls).

Re weight question, I am a bit of an in-betweener. I don't like my weight if I totally relax (prob 56 kg), but don't like to be too restricted (although love the weight, which is prob 51 kg). So am aiming for 53 kg at the mo' - means mostly wheat and dairy free and saying "no" to food unless properly hungry. Which should be easy, but I like to eat. BTW I know those weights sound low, but I am 165cm (not tall) and have a small frame w no muscle. I don't actually own scales, so this is a pretty approx exercise based on the scales at the Drs, IKEA, my sisters etc. How my clothes fit is the best guide for me.

Christ on a bike - could I get any more self obsessed??? How unattractive!!

Hells - I feel your pain re constant peeing - have had many urinary tract infections. IM(unfortunately, extensive)E, sugar aggravates the condition and drinking water only good if you retain it, so I recommend a mix of grape juice/apple juice/water in equal measures (naturopath "prescribed"). Obv cranberry juice also good.

Llama - to be honest, I think both of those TopShop dresses would add bulk as they flare from the waist. I think must more flattering if they flared from the widest part of your hip (ie skim your narrowest bits, then go out).

bunnymother · 27/01/2011 05:18

Vin - just read part of the thread, and looked at your darling DD. I have no idea how you coped through seeing your precious child so ill, I really don't. Your beautiful, special girl. I am only too happy to donate.

Staggering off to bed, ladies...

AntPants1 · 27/01/2011 07:20

vin I have donated. I am so very sorry for your loss. Lucia was absolutely beautiful.

notyummy · 27/01/2011 07:35

Vin- what a great site. Some pics are upsetting, but it is a true story of what your lovely daughter went through, for a very good cause, so def worth doing.

mrsjuan · 27/01/2011 08:27

Oh Vin, how heartbreaking. Your beautiful brave girl will always be in my thoughts. You are an amazing person.

ahem, erm, right- tasseled undergarments you say? And breton flares? Definitely a good combination. How about these to match the tassels on the underwear?

Hope everyone has a good day. I have the social highlight of my week - toddler group (only half joking sadly!) and then getting DD's feet measured -exciting times! My TK CK dress is getting an airing tonight for awards evening thing for work so am looking forward to that.

carciofi · 27/01/2011 08:49

Vin, Lucia was gorgeous. I have made a donation.

Bloss, ignore the begrudgers.

MrsJuan, amazing shoes!

We are going to buy me jeans (maternity so not very exciting) and DD pajamas.

hellsbelles · 27/01/2011 09:21

At work so can't catch up or post properly...but Vin what a beautiful girl she was and what a wonderful thing you are doing. Will donate right now.

Mumsnut · 27/01/2011 09:32

Vin, have donated. Such a beautiful little girl, and such an amazing mother!

AllBuggiedOut · 27/01/2011 09:32

vin your words and pictures are beautiful.

Will catch up properly later, but meanwhile I need to find some trousers for DH. He's starting a new contracting job. Doesn't have to wear a suit, but can't wear jeans. He needs soft with a stretch, and looks best in slim(ish) fit . Any suggestions please?

macmama · 27/01/2011 10:42

vin its not a downer for the thread - yes its heartbreaking but its real life and what you have to live with everyday, its a privilege that you have shared her memory with us all.

Got a lot on right now (including DH back for fleeting visit, in laws here and some work to do quickly this morning) but have saved link to my favourites and will make donation later in your gorgeous girl's memory. :)

Flares. Nail varnish, etc etc etc

Vin. I totally agree with macmama. It has been a privilege to have heard your daughter's story.
