Couldn't resist!

OP posts:

Bloss, I'm sure your application will blow them away and your reasons for wanting to work in that particular school are spot on. I just hope they don't find you too £££ as so often can be the case. Still, I am sure you are worth it and hopefully they will realise that too. Your current work experience will no doubt stand you in good stead confidence wise as well as providing an up to date reference for you. DH is behind you all the way and that's what really counts, isn't it. Lots of nail-biting over the next few days but such a relief to get the application in the post I'm sure.

blossoming · 26/01/2011 21:01

Thank you lovely ladies. I've been looking at bags to motivate me. Of course I'll need a new bag! To carry iphone, diary, planner and lunch. Hopefully I'll be sitting in an interview with my eye on the prize, ie a new bag!
But what I love is a diet programme, or a Biggest Loser programme. I do love them. So off to check out what choo's watching.

Bonsoir · 26/01/2011 21:03

Sadly, the prospective Camberwell students didn't seem to have anything individual about them - girls were uniformly in tights with trainers and micro skirts and the boys in all black with longish dirty hair Hmm. Just grungy, really.

blossoming · 26/01/2011 21:04

Thanks pickled. Yes it's a worry about being too expensive. I think they're obliged to pay you what your position on the scale is aren't they?
But then, the 2 members of the department that I met on the course the other week were young and childless. Maternity leave is costly too. I won't be having any of that!

VerityBrulee · 26/01/2011 21:09

Bloss ignore the begrudgers, your sister is probably jealous as Fritzi says. YOU know it's the right thing for you, just block out the rest. I must say, much as I love being a SAHM, the lack of recognition that you are an intelligent, capable person really gets to me, you become a non-person in the eyes of so many Hmm

Vin sorry about the notice to quit, I'm sure that's really stressful, but maybe a good push to get you away from P? Hope you find somewhere nice just for you and ds Smile

Will catch up properly now!

CHOOGIRL · 26/01/2011 21:16

cake It was doing a trial of the Juice Diet vs Dukan vs Lighterlife Pros/cons and side effects. Sight of large lady on the loo testing for ketones made me feel slightly unwell.

How did I miss the grey Janice?

Bloss - good luck with the job. Just ignore your sister, she sounds a bit jealous tbh.

where are Esher and MM?

LetThemEatCake · 26/01/2011 21:17

watching it now on +1 Choo. All a bit sensationalised no? I certainly never had lunches like the Dukan lady seems to be happily tucking into!!

Vin- I think you need to go with what you feel. A picture of your daughter as you like to remember her would be lovely, but if you think a picture of her whilst she was ill would help people understand what you are raising money for, then please go for it.

mrsjuan · 26/01/2011 21:34

Sad vin - entirely up to you - do you want other people to see them or would you rather keep them private?

PlumSykes · 26/01/2011 21:36

Goodness, such a lot to say, and have only missed a couple of days. So:

On Bloss's sister
Sod her, Bloss, she's not especially helpful, generally, is she?

On Camberwell
I was supposed to go to Goldsmiths to read English, but turned down place to stay in Wales with my love, and study at Cardiff instead. Luckily he turned out to be DH, or I might be mightily pissed off to have ditched London for a short-term dickhead.

On Wife Lingerie
Seriously? What a waste! Much better to enjoy the best stuff while trying out all the aforementioned short-term dicksheads, no?

On Kitchen Aids
Love mine, which was a wedding present, but could do with something that does chopping too.

On Gypsies
I have thought about them ALL DAY. Obviously was chuckling at the light-up dress/monster truck elements, but also horrified by the fact that the families on the Essex site were just being uprooted and left with nowhere to go. I KNOW I wouldn't want them down the road from me, but they have to go somewhere. Am also sickened by fact that girls leave school at 11 to stay home and do housework. No choices, hopes or dreams in their futures then.

On Roma's DS
The poor, poor love, hope all is better for him now.

On Blochs
I got a pair today. In TKMaxx! For £25! Remember how last year I was able to get them for other A&W-ers, but not myself? Well now I have them too. And I love them, in all their slate-grey patentness.

On Poorly A&W-ers
Hope all are feeling a bit better. I'm still a bit smacked out on painkillers and fed up with doing comedy walks when the jolt of pain shoots up my leg/bum/back.

On The NTAs
Which I know no-one has mentioned, but they are on now, and I have been watching. A good friend of mine used to go out with Holly Willoughby's husband. It's very weird to see him on the screen!

Will donate now.

ApuskiDusky · 26/01/2011 23:02

Oh vin. How heartbreaking, it's great that you're doing something to help others in the same situation. What you've written is perfect.

Will donate in the morning. x
