exhausted, I have spent a long time in hospitals too and I can sympathise with your dilemma! Keep strong, away from the chocolate tins, and focused on w&a on your days off! Have a great day.

Hurrah for Blochs plum Smile

Not quite as barganiscious as yours, but lots at Coggles if anybody is looking. I love the sparkly high heels too. bloss am I allowed to wear black on my feet?!

blossoming · 27/01/2011 11:59

I'll let it go, this once abo Wink.
Sparkly high heels are great.

exhaustednurse, it must be hard with patients gifting chocolates and biscuits all the time. I was quite horrified at the constant grazing I witnessed at one nurses post.

Hi Ladies

Just wanted to say how pleased I am, after peering at Grazia et al, that both maxis and wedges seem to be in, in, in for the foreseeable future. They are both close to my heart. And skinny flares....it appears that the 'fashion turns full circle' cliche is really working for my wardrobe. Those of you with heeled/clog sandals would also appear to still 'have your finger on the pulse' blah, blah, blah. I never got round to buying any last year, so I think a new pair of wedges and clogs may be in order in a a couple of months time.

Today I am in US preppy heaven, wearing my Gap Curvy trousers, with new bargainous Banana Republic merino jumper....good thing too as it is freezing here!

ApuskiDusky · 27/01/2011 12:18

Right folks , HOF dress has arrived, and I'd love some second opinions. First two pics on my profile are of the dress in question, the third is my whistles dress that I guess is an alternative for the same sort of occasion - so you can see how I look in something else.

Apologies in advance for pasty skin and the state of ds1's room!

florenceuk · 27/01/2011 12:19

I do like those Bloch shoes but bought the patent pink and black ones from TK Maxx which were on special before, so may have filled my ballet pump quota for the year. I also have two pairs from Pump and Circumstance which I bought ages ago (one patent black, one pewter)- they are less bendy, more substantial than the Bloch ones and have a rubber sole, not leather - on the bad side they still rub me a bit. Pretty Ballerina have some lovely ones but are quite a lot more expensive (and still cause me pain).

Vin just to say I found your page really moving - Lucia was a beautiful, beautiful baby and I really feel for your loss Sad.

traceybath · 27/01/2011 12:22

Vin - such lovely photos of your beautiful Lucia.

Just missed out on a lovely shearling joseph coat in my-wardrobe sale - was less than half-price but had sold out before I got to check-out - probably a good thing really as was still £££.

Back later.

PlumSykes · 27/01/2011 12:24

tracey, have you seen Hush have further reductions on PJs?

OllieWollieWoo · 27/01/2011 12:24

Vin - I was so moved reading your Just Giving page - please don't change a thing on it.

Spent most of last night trying to figure out iphone but can't get it to synch with laptop so can't access emails. DH and I both got so frustrated with it all - which led to a row about completely unrelated stuff (me: why do you always talk about us having family trips away but never plan them, DH: why don't you take more interest in our financial planning - wtf?!). Both a bit grumpy this morning but have now sent a sorry and I love you email and DH replied with links for trips away in Feb and for Easter so think all is well again in the OWW household. Just need to sort the iphone now!

Had a lovely facial this morning - such a treat. Had 20 mins to look in a couple of shops - on the back of what notyummy says re SS trends, there was lots of olive around too. Doesn't suit me at all but I love it on others.

Romanholiday · 27/01/2011 12:32

Hello everyone, crappy work day here. You know when there's one person who always manages to say the most irritating things.....

Vin your page is lovely. Poor little mite Sad. You've written it brilliantly: it's just right, all love but poised too. I have tried to donate but foiled by verified by visa apparently I got my date of birth wrong Hmm but I will go back to it when I've called the bank. People can be very generous if you ask: we asked for charitable donations in lieu of wedding presents and raised about £8,000. There was a French Connection yellow dress on GOK the other day that I thought you might like - I can't see it on the site, maybe because it comes up in a different colour in the pictures.

Exhausted huge sympathies from me at the amall-scale personal tragedy that is the end of matl. Best of luck for tomorrow.

PlumSykes · 27/01/2011 12:35

Brrrr, cold as can be here today. Met some of the school mums who also have preschoolers this morning. One of them has been invited to a show at London Fashion Week, which had them asking me about ye olden days when I used to go to such things. Made me quite wistful for all the parties, freebies and discount cards. Then I came home and did the laundry. Back to earth with a bump!

Am going to go to the out-of-town TKMaxx store when DS wakes up, to see if can get any more Blochs. I do love them so! Also need to pick up flower order for DD's lovely classroom assitant. She's going on mat leave from tomorrow, and am devasted. She is WONDERFUL, and DD adores her. Will be bereft next week. She does live locally, though, so will try and force her to be my friend.Grin

OWW Who the f has interest in financial planning, huh?

PlumSykes · 27/01/2011 12:37

Roman, how's yr injury? I'm still an aching old crone. Have bought set of weights to do Shred with, but at teh moment can't even walk up the stairs.

hellsbelles · 27/01/2011 12:38

Tracey - does it make you feel better to know - I tried that on...and it was a tiny bit too Arthur Daley/minder in real life. not sure why as their coats are usually amazing but this one was an odd length/cut.

OllieWollieWoo · 27/01/2011 12:54

Blossoming - Quick - Phase Eight has a navy Janice back in stock in a size 10 on their website if you still want one?

blossoming · 27/01/2011 13:10

Thanks ollie. I think I need a 12 in the navy though. When will the grey be back in I wonder?
Sorry you had words with DH. Hope the iphone gets sorted soon.

BCBG · 27/01/2011 13:11

Vin donated too, for Lucia - I don't need to spend it on myself anyway Smile I hope you reach your target.

PlumSykes · 27/01/2011 13:12

Love WIT's jeans today. Wonder how these will compare.

notyummy · 27/01/2011 13:16

Plum - These Gap ones also have the leg cut, without the high waist. I find them pretty flattering - am not sure I am brave enough for the full 70s Cheryl Ladd waist thing yet!

PlumSykes · 27/01/2011 13:19

Hands are freezing, have ordered these. Hope they come soon!

PlumSykes · 27/01/2011 13:22

Hmm, think I may have a pair of those Long and Leans, notyummy. Or maybe even two. God, I am the woman in OWW's link with 85 pairs unworn jeans.

blossoming · 27/01/2011 13:25

apuski, it's hard to tell about the HOF dress, but from what I see, the Whistles dress gives you more shape. Maybe you're better in something more fitted? What do you think?
I find it really valuable to take photos of all new clothes so I can take a look over the course of the day and really work out if it's right or not. Take a photo (no need to post) without both hands up and then see what you think.

blossoming · 27/01/2011 13:31

plum, don't you think the sleeve length of that t-shirt is frumpy though? Also I remember my mother in a denim suit (similar colour to the MIH jeans, and similar flare to the jeans). In 1983. She was really dated then. We were in Paris. I was mortified.
My flared jean moment has been satisfied by the gap perfect trouser that I wore teaching the other day.

Truth is, the skinny is a fantastic day/night option. Dress up/down. In fact, the only jean on me that does this. Premium denim bootcut or flare always need a heel to balance me out, and that is not a day option.

notyummy · 27/01/2011 13:32

apuski - think I agree with Bloss. You have an enviable figure and can easily pull off either of those dresses, but I think the Whistles one does make you look slightly more shapely.
