Couldn't resist!

OP posts:
PlumSykes · 27/01/2011 13:37

Oh, agree completely on the tee, Bloss, terribly unflattering with her boobs too. Do like her though, perhaps more so when she gets things a bit off.

Romanholiday · 27/01/2011 13:37

Plum did you fracture a bone? Mine hurts across the back of my pelvis (? I think) and up the left side of my back. My neck has gone v.stiff too. I can't turn my head much or bend down, and I feel a bit like I have SPD when walking, but nurofen makes a big difference. It's a bit better today than yesterday so I think I might be able to shred again at the weekend maybe.

I definitely look better at 57kg than at 55kg I have decided. More feminine.

blossoming · 27/01/2011 13:39

I'm on the nurofen too roma. Bad back. Hope you feel better soon and up for shredding.
Yes, I like her too plum, but I've never liked that top!

traceybath · 27/01/2011 13:49

Hells - that makes me feel a lot better Grin. I wasn't 100% sure and so was dithering.

Plum - will check out pjs - thanks.

traceybath · 27/01/2011 13:51

In style at weekend looked to be some nice gap jeans in from 7th feb in similar style to the mih marrakesh ones.

Bonsoir · 27/01/2011 13:53

vin - I read your text and thought it incredibly moving. I cannot begin to imagine what a terrible ordeal you have had with Lucia, one that will never leave you.

I had a class mothers coffee morning here this morning and am feeling dead beat from serving coffees and teas and croissants and fielding a million questions about school - 2/3 of the children in DD's class were new to the school (first year of primary) in September and now, 4 months in, they have identified all the recurring issues that never get resolved (!) and are asking all about them. Since DD did all three years of maternelle at the same school, and I have done lots of class rep and Parent Association stuff, I do know the issues inside out. But I feel slightly battered now! This week has been a bit busy, and it isn't over - another Parents Association meeting here tomorrow afternoon, on sticky issues, and then I have to get DD to the Opéra Bastille tomorrow evening before meeting a friend for a caviar and champagne dinner Blush. DP is going to spend Friday evening at the gym!

So now I must do intensive housework or else we will be living in a pit by Saturday morning!

pickledsiblings · 27/01/2011 13:57

Apuski, you have the perfect figure for that HOF dress. It looks like the sort of dress you could 'relax' in and I think it's quite edgy and youthful looking.

Sorry to hear of all your aches and pains ladies. Go easy on the shredding until you are fully recovered, won't you.

ABO some nice Belstaffs on that Coggles site too.

Bloss, I totally get what you are saying about skinnies being dress up/down- able unlike flares.

MarshaBrady · 27/01/2011 14:00

Vin a heart-moving blog. (I have donated)

Blondes. Do you wear red?

PlumSykes · 27/01/2011 14:01

Apuski, prefer the Whistles frock.

Roman, nothing broken as far as I know, just bruised and battered. Just have to wait until it gets better. Hopefully quite soon, as just dropped DS into his cot when I got a twinge as was putting him to bed. He looked quite surprised!

MarshaBrady · 27/01/2011 14:02

By red, I mean a red cashmere dress. Or is it too much?

TheAllNewOoooh · 27/01/2011 14:02

Vin I've been thinking about Lucia all morning. I made a small donation last night but I'd like to do more: do you know if I can set up a monthly payment through your website?

(Sorry would PM but I can't click on your name).

blossoming · 27/01/2011 14:19

I love red on blondes marsha.

MarshaBrady · 27/01/2011 14:24

Ooh thanks Bloss.

I meant to order a couple of bras (very much needed!)

But then had some sort of blow out in the sales on NaP and MW! I will send lots back, but thought hey ho am paying delivery charge etc

Will link to successful things.

Includes red cashmere/silk dress

redllamayellowllama · 27/01/2011 14:26

Bloss, good luck with the application - sounds like your sister wasn't expecting you to come out of the box that she'd put you in, iykwim.

Apuski, prefer the Whistles dress, you look curvy in exactly the ring way, yet lean at the same time. Now I've seen you in it, looking so lovely, I'm not sure I can wear it again. Grin

On WIT, I know I'm a bit late with this, but doesn't the concept of the post-marriage lingerie box leave people wondering what she has been wearing pre-wedding? Or are we to presume she has been in a chastity belt?

Am feeling very pleased wih myself as I pulled out some pre-pregnancy clothes that fitted and amongst them was a pair of wide leg jeans that I had forgotten about. Very light denim with buttons along the pockets, sailor-style. Excellent.

This arrived and looks surprisingly lovely on. Can see it getting lots and lots of wear.

I may have also found myself the perfect part-time job for weekends and school holidays. The mere prospect of it has lightened my mood considerably and feel all excited.

OllieWollieWoo · 27/01/2011 14:29

Plum your comment re unworn jeans made me smile - had another wardrobe de-clutter session this afternoon and found 2 old pairs from 6 years ago (DP I think) that I remember saving in case I needed to do any decorating (eg painting) despite already having a pair covered in paint splats for that purpose. I gave myself a good talking to!

Marsha - I like red on blondes - but can only wear coral type reds (and even they are not in my Summer colours)

DolceeBanana · 27/01/2011 14:42

Hello....

Oh Vin. Lovely, lovely baby, your little Lucia. You are a very brave and special person. So bright despite the immense hurt and struggle you have been through..sending you hugs...words fail me...apologies...

On a brighter note...like the MiH jeans but again not on WIT...she is lovely, but wears it all wrong I feel ...Bloss, I am with you on the jeans. I did see someone yesterday though wearing extrememly slim fit v v v slight boot bottom, and failed to ask her where they were from (I did want to), for fear of seeming like a slightly gushing schoolgirl.

My new style guru is the new Vogue Paris Editor, Emmanuelle Alt (oh, how I wish)...she can really rock it with the Balmain....and hey, she's 42 ...

Bonsoir. You do seem to manage to squeeze a good dose of glamour into every day. I salute you!

Marsha - yes, love red on blondes too. I wear it infrequently at the moment...Cameron Diaz looks amazing in red ! Think Mrs B wears red....?

DolceeBanana · 27/01/2011 14:47

Inspired by you OWW i am going to do a massive wardrobe clear out and cull anything not worthy.

Then start again Wink

I kind of like that playsuit Llama...mmm...can imagine with opaques, boots etc...

Bonsoir · 27/01/2011 14:52

I don't understand why Emmanuelle Alt called her daughter Françoise. Such a dull name... especially with the surname Durand.

But super cute little girl for über-rock glam mother.

ApuskiDusky · 27/01/2011 14:59

Thanks for the views people - I think I agree that the whistles dress is nicer as it gives me more shape. I will consult DH tonight, as he's a pretty good judge of what suits me - though I suspect he won't like the draping! Having looked at my photos with a critical eye - I think I need to put some weight on.

Sorry that so many of you are sore and aching. Rest and nurofen!

Dolcee and OWW, I have attempted to start decluttering my clothes for days without success, I must get on with it!

OllieWollieWoo · 27/01/2011 15:13

Apuski and Dolcee - I keep having to go back and do it - I am just not ruthless enough the first/second time round. I have a huge pile of stuff I never seem to wear to try on and really have to be in the mood to do that. The DM article was spot on, I keep stuff cos of guilt about the amount it cost in the first place whereas I should just get rid!
Apuski - I too like both dresses on you but Whistles one is more flattering.

Polkadot fans - saw this on the Monsoon website and thought it was a good price here
This tunic dress also caught my eye - looks better on model

carciofi · 27/01/2011 15:17

We are back with Seraphine skinny jeans (quite nice for maternity) and loads of Hello Kitty H&M tat that DD insisted I buy.

Cute playsuit, Llama.

Emmanuelle Alt's daughter is gorgeous.

Good luck going back to work, Exhausted*.

Marsha, the red cashmere dress sounds fab.

Apuski, the Whistles dress is lovely on you.

FritziGreenEyes · 27/01/2011 15:33

vin What you have written about your DD is beautiful and I cannot begin to imagine how hard it must have been to go through all this. Have forwarded link to DH to put on our donation list.

ollie Sorry to hear you had a stressful time with DH. Just scroll back on old thread for great relationship advice and words of wisdom from lovely W&A ladies.

Just back from first swimming lesson with DD. When I asked her what she liked best about swimming she said her new swimming costume Grin.

FritziGreenEyes · 27/01/2011 15:56

exhausted Lunching and shopping sounds like a great way to celebrate last day of mat leave!

I'm not really convinced by WIT's jeans today. Something looks a bit odd, is it the colour or have I just got used to skinny jeans? Like both GAP pairs better.

plum Those gloves look so lovely and warm!

apuski I like the Whistles dress. You look great and can definitely wear fitted dresses! Great tip from bloss about taking photos of new outfits.

roma and bloss Hope Nurofen helps and you'll feel better soon! Maybe you can pass on some to plum?

bonsoir Busy week for you, but caviar and champagne dinner sounds like a good way to begin the weekend. Your life just always seems so glamorous despite all housework Grin.

redllama Well done for getting a part-time job. Sounds perfect!

Reminder for marsha: You have an appointment tomorrow! Smile

bunnymother · 27/01/2011 15:59

Marsha - I wear red a lot, either as a main "piece" ie dress or a "highlight" ie pashmina. But I am best in a blue based red (did you hear that, Bloss? Wink). I love it!

Apusky - agree w the others, Whistles dress is better - shows off your lovely waist.

carciofi - ouch re Hello Kitty tat. I feel for you. DH has just thrown out a Sing Along Disney Princess CD Grin we were given. Am relishing still being able to influence what our DDs wear/listen to.

DolceeBanana · 27/01/2011 16:12

What a little cutie Bonsoir! I have earmarked the Boden cropped jeans for my DD to wear with breton tops...so lovely and simple. Just right for a cornish holiday by the sea....
