definitely go with the flattering-on-the-leg jeans - don't want to flash your arse to all an sundry, surely!

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 14:42

I have three of those!!

oh no - don't do g-strings. But do get the unfortunate hip and tummy overhang. Hence longish t-shirts and vests a necessity.

myturn · 29/09/2005 14:43

Drat, security blocked it!

Heathcliffscathy · 29/09/2005 14:43

but then i have a waist band that is too tight which is just horrible too

teeavee · 29/09/2005 14:44

you may need to change brand of jeans then (if only temporarily)

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 14:44

Please, please anyone with an ounce of style-where do you buy jeans that aren't "low slung"-ie. really impractical at hiding 3 bellies without looking like Simon Cowell on acid?

cupcakes · 29/09/2005 14:45

In the eighties my mum had a really wide, elasticated black belt which she wore over everything. I want those to come back into fashion to keep my tummy in.

I am wearing Levi's 507 jeans today - waist is quite high on them, and they're v comfy - not skinny or anything flash though!

Lonelymum · 29/09/2005 14:46

Sorry Dropinthe, went away for a few minutes. Gilet is light brown.

BTW have you seen a thread with your name on it?

hahabundle · 29/09/2005 14:47

i think boden do a slightly low waisted pair of jeans, but haven't bought them myself..that's if you can bear johnnie's trite prose

myturn · 29/09/2005 14:47

Your MUM cupcakes??

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 14:47

No-link please!

NotQuiteCockney · 29/09/2005 14:48

Ooh, I wear the mum's uniform. Well, except my hair is too short to go up. And I have nice glasses but no makeup, never heels. I do have a good collection of very nice trainers. Today is red DKNY ones. And my jeans do fit. And my tshirts too.

But how could I manage without a fleece? I am thinking of buying a fitted women's fleece, with waist, when I work out what size I am.

I wear shorts in summer though. I would wear skirts in summer, but there's a chafing problem that, realistically, is not going to go away, ever.

Lonelymum · 29/09/2005 14:48

Come on girl it is in the active convos!

Eaney · 29/09/2005 14:55

My arse is too big for jeans and I have a very high waist. What do you wear for casual wear if your arse is too big for trousers/jeans. I tend to wear long casual skirts sometimes denim as a nod to the jeans.

I am a size 14/16 in a skirt but jeans and trousers just close too low down on me.

My mission is to lose enough baby fat to wear some jeans.

I wear those kinds of skirts sometimes because I get bored with just jeans. I wear them with flip flops in summer or knee length boots in winter.

teeavee · 29/09/2005 14:58

fleece is also made out of plastic

  • could melt dengerously if exposed to an open flame
Lonelymum · 29/09/2005 14:58

I have fleeces but I have to say, I have had them for decades as part of my mountain walking gear. I don't tend to wear them in the street, but dh does.

hahabundle · 29/09/2005 14:58

i admit to a fleece too: but it is microfleece (not at all bobbly) and has just a zip at the neck. it is fitted and from the gap. there.

myturn - my mum was in her forties in the eighties. And more fashionable then than I am at 31.
