abo navy hunters would be my bet although I bought aubergine as didn't want to look too samey with my navy coats,

I sympathise fully with notyummy snow here is knee deep, very few cars seen in village for last few days, I'm fed up of it. Dd slept at mil monday night and was due to come home Tuesday evening but remains there. I could walk there in a couple of hours but have no way of getting her home. Kind neighbour has offered use of his 4x4 so fingers crossed we shall rescue her later. She and ils are loving their time together but I am missing her and feeling sorry for myself.

I ordered a Barbour last week which was booked for Tuesday delivery but still no sign.

All schools here closed, village shop had no deliveries for days so no paper/bread/milk to be had. I have enough milk to last the week but when dd is home will need to bake bread as she loves the stuff.

With any luck roads here will improve and I shall regain dd, fresh produce and a lovely new jacket!

Morning all

Quick post before heading off to see a client...

Another Mad Men fan here - two of my biggest clients are ad agencies and some things just don't change. It amuses me to see how much still rings true today ('tho not always a good thing!)

Like bonsoir I am refusing to let the weather get in the way. Well, only because I've been wearing jeans, crappy old boots and big old coats for the last few days. So today am wearing rolled-up boyfriend jeans with breton strips top, chunky heeled loafers, a leopard print scarf, red coat, red lippy and black beret. Going in the car so less need for sensible footwear. Will store boots in the back, just in case!

bloss are you still on for today? Hope you sell loads and loads.

carciofi let us know how you get on - hope all goes well and they don't keep you waiting around too long.

Hello delurkers please stay!

happily Sad

esher will come back and check links after work.

So much for short post...

Happy days everyone!

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2010 11:03

Sorry to bring in the trite when there are bigger issues for everyone with the snow at the moment but can I have too much leopard print? Grin In an avid but not exactly wise move I have ended up with 4 jumper dresses..one grey, one hot pink, one brown and then one grey plain with leopard frill at bottom( esher's dress) .the hot pink looks good on my colouring and was ebay bargain..should I return one or all of the others.

tracey I am very rundown 2nd baby on.worries me when I consider adding a 3rd into the equation..eyes bunny's kittens longingly Grin but don't think I will feel better till sleep improves(though shopping helps a little Smile )

notyummy · 02/12/2010 11:05

Aaarrgghhhhhh - it has been a whiteout for the past hour. Will just cease and desist?!

Happily - Sorry to hear about the situation with your DD. At least you are both warm and safe, but I can quite see how you would miss her loads.

Foiled again in my quest for coated jeans. Only 6 and 8 left in Gap. I know Gap are all about the vanity sizing - but an 8 would be a size too far for my bottom (could probably just about manage a Gap 8 on the top half these days.)

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2010 11:05

bloss I forgot to saythink you will be the star of the fair.you've worked incredibly hard.

notyummy · 02/12/2010 11:07

Yes, good luck Bloss!

Reine - perhaps 2 grey leopard dresses a little too much? Candidate for return there? I also love a bit of animal print though (leopard rather than Zebra in this wardrobe.)

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2010 11:07

notyummy could you try the 8(maybe a free delivery code out there....carciofi Grin )

notyummy · 02/12/2010 11:09

I honestly don't think they would stretch Reine. I can do a TS 10 (28) with a bit of a wriggle (you know after they have been washed...) but I am more a 10/12 on the bottom half than an 8/10.

traceybath · 02/12/2010 11:10

NY is that a gap uk 8 - because seriously they would be fine.

Reine - never too much leopard ever.

traceybath · 02/12/2010 11:13

NY a us 4 in jeans at gap is a uk size 10 - they're in stock on the website.

notyummy · 02/12/2010 11:16

Maybe I will chance it then! I just HATE that depressing feeling when jeans/trousers won't go over thighs/hips. As a pear it is the bain of my life - and then if they do fit they are MASSIVE at the waist.

notyummy · 02/12/2010 11:18

You're right Tracey - have just checked the sizing chart! The waist should be spot on for me at 26 1/2 - will will see whether the hips - literally - prove to be the sticking point.

Will order now.

pickledsiblings · 02/12/2010 11:19

Fleecy your outfit sounds fab. very WIT. What colour are the loafers?

CHOOGIRL · 02/12/2010 11:23

Snowed in again today so working from home. Struggling to stay motivated tbh.

MM Has the Parka arrived yet?

I work near your DH Esher Let me know how he gets on driving. Lovely T-bags maxi. I think I may try and book a holiday now. Sharm or Dubai for Easter??

Nice to see you delurk Geordie Sorry about your job.

I got some aubergine Hunters (and welly socks) last winter. They are still in the box but I may go for a walk later so they may get their first outing.

Great thread title Cake

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2010 11:24

tracey of course Grin Grin

really ny you can do it..said in stern jillian tones.b.t.w before you even think about posting another m and s monstrosity I have done my 'biggest loser' this a.m(another jillian dvd),

right am going to try to link dresses for opinions on which to keep..while inner voice sheiks I want need want them all..may take some time

happilyeverafter · 02/12/2010 11:38

fleecy your outfit sounds utterly gorgeous! I've been frumpy the past few days but after reading of Marsha and bonsoir glamming it up I have made an effort today, wearing very tight navy/white stripy top tucked into short tulip navy sweatshirt fabric mini, falkes and cable cosy.

Wearing chocolate uggs indoors but will exchange for wellies shortly to take the dog for a game of hide and seek. Snow is level with tops of his legs so it's quite hard work for him to gad about as he usually does.

choo I can't believe you've not worn your wellies yet. We all had a pair last december and they seemed in constant use since, dd wears hers at the hint of rain, mine live in boot of car to save me when I make inappropriate shoe choices. I'm guessing your life is more glam that mine which involves muddy fields and dodging cowpats oh too frequently.

reine 4 leopard dresses sounds lots but if you have ones that are daytime and evening then it's really a versatile wardrobe option

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2010 11:40

animal print dress and animal ruffle hem on this page..which is the keeper please..

fashion.oasis-stores.com/search?asug=&country=GB&w=grey+dress

and then the animal swing

fashion.warehouse.co.uk/search?country=GB&w=leopard&asug=

phew,i'm slow

happilyeverafter · 02/12/2010 11:43

Oh and it's snowing really heavily again here. Sad

But just seen the bus go by for the first time in days which means our main roads must be clear although mil doesn't get gritted and she's rang to say there are three cars abandoned at the bottom of her road and one that made it up last night that promptly got stuck and took hours to dig out.

notyummy · 02/12/2010 11:44

Yes, loving your work fleecy - would be embarrassed if I summarised wardrobe for this week...so won't!

What about the rest of you, eh?

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2010 11:45

I have obviously got very a little carried away with all the leopard print around this season.I do already have 3 summer leopard print dresses but accumulated over a long period and usually had just hints of leopard e.g shoes, scarves,oh and opps a blinding coat(ancient)

I am preparing myself for a stern talking to Blush especially since I still bf so spend half my time in button down gear!

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2010 11:47

reine hands ny shiny red apple and smarts slightly at remembrance of school nickname 'devil crawler' Blush

notyummy · 02/12/2010 11:48

Reine - I prefere the animal print dress from Oasis to the ruffle on balance. Could be for work or dressed up for evening.

The warehouse one is nice, but I think the prefer the grey leopard print for dresses - but at least it is different to grey one, so that kind of justifies it!

blossoming · 02/12/2010 11:48

It's okay, I'm on my lunch break!!

What to wear oh wise ones?

What about the phase 8 sequin tunic dress. With leggings and snowboots? Or jeans, breton and blazer? Best to be festive in sequins??. And red lippy a la fleecy with both options. Or I could do stripey janice?

ReineDeSaba · 02/12/2010 11:48

oh dear happily poor you

notyummy · 02/12/2010 11:50

Sequins Blssoming!
