ggggrrrr so I just ordered the ££££ my wardrobe gilet and used the £50 code and it hasn't taken off the £50. I have email invite to use the code btw, maybe is because gilet was already reduced from £250 to £175 (I added some Falke tights to take it over £200). So annoying, now will have to ring My W in the morning and if they are not going to honour voucher will cancel Sad

happilyeverafter · 07/12/2010 22:23

Happy belated birthday to littleboy cake

Bunny hope your dd is better soon, must be incredibly hard with babybunnies plus an ill little one.

NY really hope you get your heating sorted

Vin really hope your p sees sense and shufties off into the sunset soon! In the words of a wise man (David Jason) "what a plonker"

tethers glad the vw dress is a winner

marsha was lovely to read of you living it up, sounded such fun!

waves back to monkeysmama, I have been wondering if you've braved the park cafe again yet?

tracey hope situation with your ds at school is sorted soon, I agree about speaking to teacher, best to get in early.

Temp here is lowest I can ever recall, really bracing outdoors. DH just switched shower on to 'warm up' (takes seconds as combi boiler but he still leaves it ten minutes) and he failed to notice it flood ensuite until water started running into bedroom. I could hear him shouting and swearing from living room. Have offered help but he's in an angry place so have slunk out of way Pipes are frozen solid.

To add to jewellery question I just wear engagement and wedding rings. I rarely wear my good watch or jewellery dh bought me, did used to wear diamond studs but lost one then put the other one 'safe' and that is also now lost. I haven't replaced them as it seems so careless of me, I'm embarrassed not to have taken better care of them. I do love classic understated stuff and finally purchased a pearl necklet this week so can give dd my faux ones for her dressing up box.

I don't wear my good watch everyday but impulse bought <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=static.letsbuyit.com/filer/images/uk/products/original/148/65/tw-steel-canteen-style-men-s-45mm-chronograph-watch-14865644.jpeg&imgrefurl=www.letsbuyit.co.uk/product/29769375/unisex-other-watches/tw-steel-canteen-style-men-s-45mm-chronograph-watch&usg=__0QjqrM-kITTjx7PHSDRrQ7oIP54=&h=475&w=475&sz=51&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=EfTNH1YKqCkjyM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=114&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtw%2Bsteel%2Bwatch%2Bcanteen%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1R2GZAZ_enGB362%26biw%3D1259%26bih%3D627%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=111&vpy=154&dur=2902&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=119&ty=120&ei=K-TNrkIIKHhQe7lvTKCQ&oei=K-TNrkIIKHhQe7lvTKCQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=26&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this leather strapped one this week to wear for work. I have issues with metal straps and the noise if they touch/scrape/knock anything metal or ceramic so it is lovely to have a leather strap.

Cake those Choos are great but not sure they are £££ great, I would want a classic forever shoe for that price.

oh DT you are sweet but I must work tonight, am out every night for the rest of the week, argh.

And no W&A purchasing allowed at the mo. Although I do like this Grin

Agree happily those Choos not worth the money, I just like them.

tracey hope chat with teacher was productive. bloss hope paperwork done and dusted, what a drag! Fritzi glad you felt great at school, outfit sounds gorgeous. esher yep that would be it, m-w discounts usually only apply to full-price goods, annoying!

right back to it ...

LetThemEatCake · 07/12/2010 23:23

blossoming · 08/12/2010 08:24

Lovely dress there ltec. Would suit autumns too.
ollie, demand compensation! You must have been so annoyed, and the poor people of Holland have missed out!
fritzi, did you like the new school? Is they where dd will go?
How's the packing going carciofi? Ds will probably go to school tomorrow in head to toe Ben 10, for the school disco. Dh is coping badly.
happily, sorry to hear of your flood.

OllieWollieWoo · 08/12/2010 08:38

Have the morning to myself but have a long list of admin jobs to get done. The radio is playing lots of Christmas songs so I'm sitting here belting out "All I want for Christmas is you,o-oo-oooou" and feeling quite festive!

I keep forgetting its my b-day coming up Cake - thats what happens when it falls between Sinterklaas and Christmas! Am out tonight for our Book Club meal (starting off in a wine/champagne bar before going to a French bistro style restaurant. No idea what to wear tho, was hoping to have the Mint Velvet dress I ordered a month ago but sister has yet to post it over....). Am out on Friday evening with girlfriends and then DH and I are out on Saturday evening to my favourite local restaurant. On Sunday we have the families of DS1's school friends coming over - will do gluhwein, large jugs of hot chocolate and various baked goods such as shortbread hearts, brownies and the reindeer cupcakes for the kids.) So, quite a sociable week then!

Re jewellery - I wear my engagement ring and wedding ring - but on different hands (Dutch way of doing it). Hate the feeling of 2 rings knocking together - strange I know but always have!. Also wear a simple watch with a leather strap and a silver torque style bracelet that my sister got my from Thailand 13 years ago and I've worn ever since. DH spent a lot on a plain silver bangle for my 30th which I wear on special occasions but secretly prefer the one my sister got me which cost pence apparently! Don't have my ears pierced and wear the odd necklace as and when.

LTEC - that top is wonderful - great colour and lovely detail on the back.

Been looking at the pics from the British Fashion Awards here but nothing really wowed me.

Right must get on - back to my list (now singing Do They Know Its Christmas...!)

carciofi · 08/12/2010 08:51

OWW, your nights out sound great. Enjoy your peace!

Bloss, it must be so hard for you all.

Still have a lot of packing to do and it hasn't helped that DH has been very busy at work and I've been doing it all. He is working from home today so he can do a bit. We had to have our breakfasts in shifts as I have packed all the crockery bar one bowl and one mug!

LTEC and MiniBunny, hope you are feeling better. Gorgeous top and red dress.

Happily, I like the Barbour, I had my eye on that too. Next year!

notyummy · 08/12/2010 09:00

Good luck with the packing Carciofi!

Lovely top and dress there LTEC - hope you managed to get your work done and feeling a bit better.

Happily - Sorry to hear about your flood .

OWW - That sounds like a lovely week!

Jewellery - Always a watch. As I said, I HAVE to know the time - a lot of my day is spent against the clock, and the idea of scrabbling around to check a mobile or pestering other people for the time constantly just makes me feel more stressed. I think it probably shows both the good (organised) and bad (stressed) side of me! Also wedding and engagement ring and nearly always earrings of some sort. Plain silver necklace a lot of the time, but I do swap it for nights out.

Well, it is a positively tropical (comparatively!) -2 here this morning and the heating at work is fixed. The bad news is that it was snowing heavily at home when I left for work, so I will to keep a careful eye on the weather reports.

I am wearing knee length blue Jigsaw shift dress, with aquamarine cashmere cardie, thick ribbed/lacy tights and knee length boots. Also got Desigual coat and new hat to ensure I am warm.

Hope you all have good days!

hellsbelles · 08/12/2010 09:04

rubbish, draining day at work yesterday so haven't caught up properly.

Cake - I think I may finally be learning...that top was already in my wish list Wink...and that dress was tried on a few weeks back (very very thin material...so it went back)

I'm recovering from the hassles of yesterday as I get to spend a whole day with DD (and later DS) - they sooth my soul Grin

Hope everyone is well and I'll catch up at lunchtime.

notyummy · 08/12/2010 09:09

OWW - Just looking at those Fashion Awards pics you linked to. Agree there were not many 'wows' there. Usually I think she looks great - but I have to say I do NOT like Yasmin Le Bon in that Christopher Kane dress. Doesn't flatter her at all.

Mumsnut · 08/12/2010 09:25

Oh dear, Hells - my ds and dd do exactly the opposite!

AllBuggiedOut · 08/12/2010 10:18

Very pleased about the VW ththers. I wore mine no Sunday and it felt fab Smile

Wellies arriving here - the navy huntress are a great length (as others have said, the regular ones would be too long on me) but they're very wide round the top. These are great but the 39 too small so returning for a 40 to compare.

Really interestng about jewellery. Quite a few of us without pierced ears.

esher hope you are feeling a but calmer about christmas - do you have a list of presents to buy? I find that really helps and until I write a proper list panic buy all sorts of stuff which is then not quite right or needs to go back.

Love the sound of your school outfit fritzi.

bunny hope DD1 is better soon. Have been enjoying looking at your photos, thanks for sharing them Smile

notyummy agree completely about yasmin; what was she thinking?!

Enjouying reading about people's christmas traditions too Smile

Must go, DS1 stroppy and grumpy much more himself today...

Yay! Well done everything's DS Smile Long may it continue.

pickledsiblings · 08/12/2010 11:20

OWW The Daisy Lowe dress is probably the only nice one - the rest are...scary yuck.

geordieminx · 08/12/2010 11:31

cake they have that dress in a small and an extra small? Grin

LetThemEatCake · 08/12/2010 11:34

Oh well done Geordie!! Was only m and l last night, they must have restocked. Cheers lovely x

OP posts:
pickledsiblings · 08/12/2010 11:45

I love this red dress but you'd have to stand like that all evening I think Grin.

I also like that one one you've got your eye on Cake. Not for me though

blossoming · 08/12/2010 11:47

Two years everything? You poor thing. Hope this is the start of a new phase for you.

geordieminx · 08/12/2010 11:57

See... I have enabled you cake. Grin

Having a shitty time of it here. In the past 2 weeks:

Lost job
Driven into the back of a taxi
Got stuck on the motorway for 15 hours on Monday
Had pipe burst... meaning no central heating currently.. insurance cant get anyone out to us at the moment

Really struggling, and dh is being a bit of a twat, in that he is of a "oh well never mind, its just one of those things" type people, meaning no support at all for me, and me being made to look like I am just over-reacting.

Just want to hibernate.

bunnymother · 08/12/2010 12:11

Congratulations Everything - that's fantastic!!

bunnymother · 08/12/2010 12:13

Oh God, Geordie - what a shitty time indeed! Sometimes its nice just to be upset and be allowed to be upset, isn't it?! I find men so often move into "solution" mode, when really you just want to feel it. Nice hot bath, a weepie movie (nothing like that to get you really crying it out) and a glass of port?

traceybath · 08/12/2010 12:15

God Geordie - how awful - what did you do on the motorway for 15 hours - did you have anything to eat/read?

Spoke to DS's teacher and all is in hand Smile

DH back at work today thank goodness! Am dying some clothes as don't like the colours - oh lordy I hope it works!

Bloss - so sorry about DH - how is he today? And how are you?

geordieminx · 08/12/2010 12:21

I just sat, and sat and sat, and smoked Blush, and slept a bit, and that was about it. No ipad, no magazines, no phone as battery was dead.

I had some coke, and a chunky kit kat but that was it... didnt dare open the coke as had to wee into a nappy after 4 hours Blush

Still at least I was toasty, and had plenty petrol, and managed to get home at 1.30am, after leaving work 25 miles away at 10am.
