Sorry to hear that Vino. Didn't you say that you have to move out of the place you are in now?

notyummy · 07/12/2010 19:57

Vin - Have you taken legal advice on who should go? I think (although am in no way qualified) that he would probably have to if lawyers got involved. Anyone know about these things?

mrsjuan · 07/12/2010 19:58

Vin, is the house in both your names?

Vin - I agree with NY that you need to legally clarify your position. This is an exciting fresh start for you and baby Vin Smile

NY oh I can sympathise with the school woes Smile She is still really little though and probably tired as near the end of term and very excited about Christmas too.

Vin, definitely have a word with a lawyer. Your XP has a brass neck!

eshermummy · 07/12/2010 20:52

Aaaagh just want to vent for a minute. Am so over the renovations at Esher Towers. Electricians didn't leave today till 7pm, couldn't put children to bed as carpets and floorboards up in the dd's bedrooms, finally got them in bed then had to sweep and mop 3 rooms because of the plaster dust which is EVERYWHERE Angry. Thank goodness I didn't put up the christmas decs though god knows when I will be able to.

Zembo - ASOS mongolian gilet verdict: 10 is deffo too big, need an 8. The only trouble is the size 8 they've sent me looks a bit ragged on one shoulder as if a lump of fur is missing. Can I be arsed to order it again for 3rd time?
I think it also makes me cough a bit(am not good with fibres) so am a bit Confused. Shall I just order the ££££ version from My Wardrobe instead
The synthetic top was ok but am not keeping.

Cake - Warehouse swallow blouse very pretty but indecent on me with bow undone as far too low - is it low on you too? Not sure if will keep tbh as not sure navy does much for me next to my face. Actually nothing does anything for my face atm as am soo tired I look really dead and washed out. Must get more sleep by Sunday!!!!

Vin am ex-lawyer too but know nothing about family law. Take proper advice, then act on it.

Bloss hugs for your ds and his beautiful poem, I was wondering how he would be coping right now.

Sympathies to those of you with defiant offspring. We have some here too from time to time.

DD2 being an absolute pain re night wakings at moment and has had me up 2 or 3 times a night for past week. Also have cough which cannot get rid of and keeps me awake at night so feeling shattered.

I am supposed to be reading One Day for my bookclub too, The Slap is our January book! I also borrowed a copy of the Help but have not read a page.
How do you lot find the time for it all?

Wore new otk socks today but not in a particularly so as you'd notice way iyswim. Olive green otk socks over brown rib tights with brown knee high boots and brown dress. Looked nice and feet were warm Smile

Choo my Ugg short bikers were due to arrive today from ASOS but didn't so am hoping they will appear tomorrow. I ordered the dark brown as all my other ankle boots are black but now thinking maybe black better?

Sooo panicing about Christmas. Rushed into Kingston today and bought a few things as presents in Space NK but just felt all panicy and short of time (thanks to having to stay and brief /supervise contractors till 11am Hmm.

Have 2 Outnet parcels upstairs - have opened and everything looks crap (bar one summer maxi dress) but will go and try properly later.

carciofi · 07/12/2010 21:07

Esher, hope your house is back to normal soon! I really enjoyed One Day and bought The Slap today. Give the My-Wardrobe gilet a try!

LetThemEatCake · 07/12/2010 21:09

big sorry to those with woes - especially vin whose XP I could just cheerfully throttle with my own bare hands. Please get some proper advice and stick to your guns. Sympathies also to esher - how stressful - and those with misbehaving dc. I am often a bit Hmm about the glowing reports I get about dd and ds1's beahviour - it's like, oh so they just save being foul for me, do they? nice.

At the gym yesterday they ignored my repeated instructions to come and get shoes/ jackets on as L was desperate for drink/ nap and we had to go bc they were helping the (complete stranger) who runs the session to put away every last hula hoop, skittle, beanbag and beam Angry

On another dc-related note, here is an indication of how completely obsessed with my b'day I am (background - it's right on Xmas and my dad's is the day before. He grew up with the one present thing, hated it and was determined it should not happen to his daughter. Result- massive hoo-ha over my b'day, an exercise to which I have become accustomed and have expected every significant other to replicate Grin) So dd requests for dinner tonight: chicken, rice, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, broccoli, beans, peas and carrots. I'm like, wow you are so good at eating your veggies! She says "I want to make sure I'm healthy so I don't get sick for my birthday party".

It's in August. Grin

OWW what plans have you for next week?

Are we still covering jewellery?

Daily wear of diamond studs (presented on wedding day by DH hidden in flowers!!).
Engagement ring
Wedding ring
Diamond necklace (after DC were born).
Sadly my Cartier watch was stolen - have not replaced - yet.

£30,000 - a round the world travelcard with tour guides who would give me one to one attention and no following an umbrella on history tours. I think it would run out quickly.

As for Sunday meet up wear - am now on trousers as two dress choices might be too cold with opaques, still minus whatever where I am and I cannot be cold.

I loved The Help - still think of the bit in the middle. I have passed the book to family and friends and all enjoyed immensely.

cake - hope you are resting and recovering.

vin - speak to your Uncle asap.

esher - a girl in my office has the My-wardrobe gilet - purchaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Children woes? Please do not start me off. Expensive school shoes left behind and DS has no clue where and said I had to take a day off work to find them. Roll on Xmas school holidays for the implementation of some discipline.....

Sorry if I have missed anyone, no more sneaky logging in at lunchtimes at present, too busy at work Biscuit.

notyummy · 07/12/2010 21:21

Think the weather is supposed to be a fair bit warmer by Sunday isn't it? Unfortunately I can't come (Boo!) but perhaps some of you meet-up ladies could brave skirts/dresses?

DTI10 · 07/12/2010 21:26

ny I keep looking at the weather reports. Agreed the weekend might be warmer but it is still so cold and I really can't abide it unless I am sat in front of a roaring fire.

My road is still an ice rink. I have already slipped twice and jarred my hip last week. London is relatively clear but the walk to my station is not good. I am setting off relatively early to have a look around the shops - precious me time which I am going to make good use of!

12th or 19th March good for me too!

LetThemEatCake · 07/12/2010 21:28

I like these

nobody say "Health in Pregnancy" please Biscuit

I like this as it is 20% off online but DH has just said it looks like one of the DC's has thrown up on me. (I love my DH and his Gok Wan comments).

LetThemEatCake · 07/12/2010 21:35

yes but your style is classic hark. Mine is, er, not Grin

DT do you think our dhs might fancy hanging out together in, ooh, I dunno, some pub in a slum somewhere, while we live it up on Sunday?

OP posts:
DTI10 · 07/12/2010 21:37

Love the shoes cake. Love a bit of boho but find it difficult to do!

Are you feeling any better?

LetThemEatCake · 07/12/2010 21:39

nah, feel lousy. But we don't do doctors in this house. Nor medicine, really. So, you know, I'm sure a glass of red and some retail therapy will help. Got a mountain of work to do though and I let the dc stay up late so am well behind. Fol-de-rol!!

blossoming · 07/12/2010 21:42

I have just spent two hours filling in forms for my new job. It's 1.5 hrs a week ffs.
I am beyond bored with it. I haven't finished yet either!

DTI10 · 07/12/2010 21:45

Wrap up warm, have a good night's sleep and forget the work for a bit. Make a W & A purchase too, always cheers me up.

I am hoping it will be at least 12 degrees on Sunday and the sun will be shining. I am not allowed to say "nothing to wear" in this house at present!

FritziGreenEyes · 07/12/2010 22:08

ollie How annoying about the Christmas market!

vin Please get some legal support and show P that you mean it! Must be so hard but stay strong.

Spring meetup: 12th or 19th both fine for me! Have to admit that I'm a bit panicky at thought of meeting you all for glam evening do. Will join Marsha at the champagne bar and everything will be fine Smile.

cake Get your cough checked out please. You don't want to be sick for your birthday and miss Nobu and opportunity to dress fabulously? Guess you'll wear your new HH? Love your Christmas wish!

esher Hope your house will be lovely for Christmas! Don't keep the Asos gilet if you are not convinced. Hope you'll manage to get some sleep.

Sorry for everyone with DC-worries. Although not as bad as it was 2 weeks ago DD is still challenging too. Think it really it is related pre-Christmas/end of term/lack of sunshine.

tracey Boo hiss to nasty boy in your DS1's class! Probably best to speak to the teacher.

Enjoyed reading One day too. Have ordered The Slap and The Help.

DD had assessment at private school today. I wore Janice with black poloneck, Belstaffs and grey Sportmax coat. Felt good among all the bootlegged jeans over black boots combos. Sorry if that sounds mean... To be fair there was one petite woman with Indian background who looked great in midi-length skirt and navy blue coat.

Must be hard for you this week blossoming. Your DS is incredible...

zembo Like the boots!

bunny You poor DD1! DD got antibiotics when she had HFM + ear infection. I also feel for you and DH. Hope you all will have recovered by Christmas and be able to snuggle up with your three gorgeous girls.

tethers Yay for VW! Have you got an occasion to wear it soon?
