Hells - well done to your DS for his school report Smile. H's teacher is lovely so will have a quick word at pick-up.

Jewellery wise I wear diamond studs, cartier watch, engagement, wedding and eternity ring and sometimes a necklace. I have taken delivery of a box from Alex Monroe which I'm hoping is the baby bee necklace from DH for christmas.

We're all similar in our jewellery choices Smile

LTEC - I am loving my Goat cardi-coat and as Esher suggested did have a good look at the seams and they seem fine touch wood. It was the one you linked to Carciofi but in the plum colour. I did love reading though how you envisaged your DD snuggled up in it when at university Smile.

I am selfishly hoping that with the increases in university fees that my dc's if they did go will go to a local one and stay at home for longer Smile.

DH is still ill in bed - it must be great to be able to take to your bed ill mustn't it Hmm But am being a kind and diligent wife and just made him fresh fruit salad for lunch.

NY and Verity - I hope the snow thaws for you soon. NY can't you go home and work there - surely theres a minimum temperature for working conditions.

So come on whats everyone wearing on sunday - do I dress up in a frock or wear jeans and a goat Wink

MarshaBrady · 07/12/2010 13:22

Bunny you lovely adorable bunny, thank you Smile.

Yes to March 19 so you can be there too. I hope dd1 is better soon, you are doing very well. Dh and I have had some fraught moments over the past year! Tiredness makes us irritable with one another.

Tracey yes to word with teacher. These things go in waves ime and little boys can be very fickle. It doesn't take much to turn the tide. (Ds1 had some tricky days but now they all run up to him in glee etc etc).

I have seen my dream school today. Gave me that funny teary feeling / how lovely it would be if ds went there.

MarshaBrady · 07/12/2010 13:26

....went there next that is. His little school years are flying by so quickly.

bunnymother · 07/12/2010 15:20

Super whimsical question while I feed the babies...

What would you buy if you had to spend between £10,000 and £30,000 on luxury items??

Rules:

Yes to holidays, clothes, accessories, jewels

No to anything practical ie home reno or car etc or anything you don't benefit from.

notyummy · 07/12/2010 15:53

Before I bought any more clothes I would have an AMAZING holiday with the family. Far east - Thailand, Borneo etc. Diving, climbing Mt Kinabalu (sp?), staying in luxury spa resorts. Flying First Class (never managed above Business Class.)

Then I would think about which investment pieces I wanted....

(And obviously if there were no rules attached I think we would probably give a bit to charity, a large wedge to the mortgage before we spent on that... Wink)

£30,000 on fripperies Smile - yes please!

In no particular order:

  • fur coat for school run
  • diamond necklace and earrings of the every day sort
  • a fortnight's holiday with DP and no children in Africa - safari and beach - super luxury

All gone!

traceybath · 07/12/2010 17:08

Golly I'd do luxury holiday with the children and then an even more luxurious one minus the children Grin

A Hermes bag, some diamonds and some clothes including my Joseph Shearling.

All gone.

blossoming · 07/12/2010 17:17

Is that enough for a patek phillipe? Whatever, I'd spend it in about 5 minutes in Boodles!

MarshaBrady · 07/12/2010 17:26

Diamonds
Huge NaP order
Luxury holiday, first class flights, wiith nanny

Probably not enough to cover all that!

LetThemEatCake · 07/12/2010 17:48

would live for a year (prob would only stretch to 6 months actually) in Italy with my family & intensive 1 to 1 Italian classes x 3 per week.

will catch up later. Deliveries came through today. Bloss you are amazing. Not least because even with so much else going on you manage not to be self-absorbed (likewise you bunny!! hang in there. Poor dd. Hope she is on the mend soon) And your crafts are beautiful - thanks a million.

also the long-awaited Halston Heritage arrived and was worth the wait.

Right, am channeling tracey and yangy and cooking chicken and rice so catch you later

Luxury shopping list:

Proper safari or diving holiday but with luxury accommodation and amazing food.
Winter holiday in Switzerland with snowboarding by day and fine dining by night.
A diamond watch.

Back to reality. Day to day I wear diamond studs, wedding ring, engagement ring and eternity ring every day. Often coupled with Tiffany's bangle and <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.christopherward.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/382x/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/W/7/W7SRR2_9.jpg&imgrefurl=www.iwatches.co.uk/categoriespage/2/46/Christopher-Ward.html&usg=__toGuS7dh6n_kgnmaGlwIpHucmLU=&h=382&w=382&sz=17&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=b5aljTql9sQHeM:&tbnh=147&tbnw=151&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dchristopher%2Bward%2Bwomen%2527s%2Brapide%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1GGLQ_ENUK360%26biw%3D1263%26bih%3D612%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C62&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=1000&vpy=314&dur=1399&hovh=224&hovw=224&tx=143&ty=131&ei=YXL-TLuUIorBhAemnPnWCQ&oei=YXL-TLuUIorBhAemnPnWCQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:18,s:0&biw=1263&bih=612" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this watch. Don't often wear necklaces from day to day but all could change at Christmas! I always take my earrings out at night though.

Thanks for uniqlo cahsmere suggestion - must have missed that before. Interesting that you recommend the v neck though hark, I would usually prefer that but at the moment I seem to be liking the crew neck more.

Sorry to hear of DS troubles Bloss and Tracey. From what you have told us before they both sound like wonderful boys.

And bunny that sounds extremely hard work for all of you. DD and I had HF&M in the summer. She seemed fine - just a few spots and a bit of a temperature, I was in agony with a mouth absolutely full of ulcers. Only lasted a few days though thank goodness. Hope D is feeling better soon.

notyummy · 07/12/2010 18:19

My order arrived today from Blossoming. thank you- it's great!

Am at home now with heating. Apparently the heating at work is now fixed so at least I won't freeze tomorrow!

tethersjinglebellend · 07/12/2010 18:32

I so wanted to get post 666... ah well, I'll have to make do with 667, the neighbour of the beast Grin

I got my VW dress! It arrived! It fits perfectly. I ordered a size up to make the most of the draping, and it looks great, am so chuffed.

Thanks you lot for persuading me to get it Smile

tethersjinglebellend · 07/12/2010 18:35

And thank you hells for finding it in the first place!

Zembo · 07/12/2010 19:26

Just a quickie, I want some chunky heeled ankle boots to wear with the gap coated skinnies. what do you think to these? Not leather though. Thanks

bunnymother · 07/12/2010 19:31

Hmmm is £30,000 actually enough? It does seem skimpy when you think about all the things we want - and this is another instance of snap - we all want luxury holidays, jewellery and leathergoods / luxe outfits! Mine is:

  • French antique diamond bracelet (w graduating sized diamonds) - err, I may have found one at a teeny £9K [grimace];
  • pre DCs I would have said a safari holiday in Africa and now I think renting a spacious house in the Italian or French countryside (w nanny!!) sounds perfect; and
  • please excuse my inner Cruella DeVille, but a dark green moc croc Kelly or Birkin bag sounds wicked to me (fashion snap w Daphne Guinness); and
  • please let there be enough for a beautiful pair of Jimmy Choo or Christian Louboutin shoes...

Tracey and Bloss - I have no idea how you control yourselves when you hear someone is mean to your darling boys?! I know we have to let our children go and not coddle them, but it must be so hard not to smack the chops of the perpetrators!

Cakey - ooh HH dress looks like it will be perfect on you!!

MrsJ - I am sitting here w dry hands due to over use of anti bacterial gel - I am hoping against hope I don't get HFM!! You poor thing to have had a mouthful of ulcers! So sad to see little DD1 reach for her bottle eagerly then cry because her mouth is too sore to drink it Sad

Vin - am thinking of you, lovely, and hoping that P (is for Prick?) has left the building. For good.

Bloss - your DC1 does sound beautifully sensitive - writing that poem is too precious.

mrsjuan · 07/12/2010 19:41

Bunny - apparently it's pretty rare for adults to get it properly as it's so prevalent that most of us are exposed to it as children. I somehow proved to be the exception to this rule but hopefully you will be ok.

Cake - beautiful dress.

We had chicken and rice yesterday -must have been thinking of this thread unconsciously.

Zembo I like the look of those boots and think they would work will with the gap skinnies - depends how you feel about them not being leather though.

notyummy · 07/12/2010 19:48

I like the boots Zembo. I know they are not expensive, but slightly cheeky price for no leather!

blossoming · 07/12/2010 19:50

I can't open your link zembo.

Well I'm glad your parcel finally arrived ltec and also that your daughter liked the apron carciofi. notyummy, you got yours quite quick!
I am still awaiting parcels. Most annoyed.
I had the bright idea to show photos of my stuff to RL friends! Have had a few orders too, so am still sewing. It is terrible that I talk to you more than I talk to them. They don't live locally and they work full time, they are mostly frumpy busy and some are fat a little overweight. I do love them, but it's not the same.

One of my new students said she was going to be a fashion designer. Don't you just love young people! Oh to be 15!

Be back later, dh home.

carciofi · 07/12/2010 19:52

That's a lovely watch, MrsJuan. I like the red strap.

I'd probably go skiing in Whistler (nanny and business class flights, of course!) and then go to NY for a few weeks and blow a wad of cash in Saks! I would like a Cartier watch too, please. :)

The boots would look good with jeans, Zembo.

I revoke my recommendation of these M&S jeggings, they have already stretched out of shape and faded loads after being washed once.

Those of you with DS woes, can I throw in my DD ones?

Got a message via Kids Club (after school care) today that her teacher had mentioned that her behaviour for the last couple of days has bad. Blush I won't get a chance to speak to the teacher until Thursday PM at the earliest, and there was no details of what she had done. I quizzed her and it appears she deliberately damaged some Christmas decs at school (she claimed that 'X told me to do it.' Hmm) I also suspect, judging by her behaviour and attitude at the weekend, that she may have been cheeky to the teacher. I am mortified. She is v strong willed and articulate, and the flip side of that is this naughtiness and cheek. Nightmare.
