I put these on over my normal boots. I used them last year in the snow and they were brilliant. I haven't used them this winter as we only have a sprinkling of snow Sad.

tethersjinglebellend · 03/12/2010 18:56

Oh marsha thank you- but it won't let me use it Sad

It give me this message:

This voucher code is limited to selected my-wardrobe.com subscribers. Sorry, it is not for public use

Thanks for trying though.

Now I really want it Grin

MarshaBrady · 03/12/2010 18:57

Are you registered yet? I wonder if you can subscribe quickly? I haven't tried it yet...

We must help you buy this dress!

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 19:18

tethers - you know my view on the matter Grin...but as I did caution earlier - they usually need to be worn with spanx or the bottom is quite unpleasant.

tethersjinglebellend · 03/12/2010 19:20

Right. Spoke to DP again. I think I wore him down.

I got it!!!!

Thank you all Smile

MarshaBrady · 03/12/2010 19:22

woohoo! Grin

traceybath · 03/12/2010 19:23

Yeay! I hope you like it and yes do agree some spanx is always a good idea Grin

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 19:24

I'm extremely stroppy now - DS does indeed have nits. I'm so fed up of all this. I know exactly who keeps bringing them back into the class and the father of the child told me the 'struggle' they had to get rid of them and they 'just weren't going'.

I explained (because he asked) exactly what you need to do as well as the traditional treatments (such as cleaning all linen, towels, tops etc - and putting cushions away for a few days)...and he looked aghast...basically couldn't be arsed. So now the rest of the parents have to do it because he can't be bothered.

I sound insane don't it? But it just really gets me stressed. And (and can you tell this is the worst bit Wink)...if I get them and use the Hedrin stuff to get rid of them...it washes out most of my hair dye...ahhh...so I have to walk round looking like a grey witch. I have spent the last half hour checking my own hair and can't find any. So hoping i don't have to do the treatment too.

AllBuggiedOut · 03/12/2010 19:26

Yay! Which one is it tethers?

tethersjinglebellend · 03/12/2010 19:29

This one

MarshaBrady · 03/12/2010 19:30

I love it.

traceybath · 03/12/2010 19:33

Hells - I've never bothered with extra washing of cushions etc and only ever did the comb through with nitty gritty and conditioner.

But DS1 hasn't had them at all this term because on advice of another mum who runs a nursery and is nit expert we have a system. Each day before he leaves the house he is doused with vosene kids anti-nit spray and then I put gel on his hair which apparently stops the nits getting in. Not sure but as I say so far none this term despite others having them. Could be worth a try - we call it our war on nits Wink

Lovely dress Tethers.

AllBuggiedOut · 03/12/2010 19:34

Oh that's horrid hells. Are you using tea tree oil on your DS? the lice are supposed not to like it and it might help to keep them from coming? Must admit, I read that they can't survive off hair so you shouldn't need to worry about bedding etc. Sounds like the bloke in question needs to be introduced to the nitty gritty comb!

Romanarama · 03/12/2010 19:50

tethers I have one and I agree that it's fab but unforgiving, so invest in a spanx slip or something to go with.

Hells, just use the nitty gritty. I use it on mine 1x per week and we don't seem to get them much. I like tracey's system too though, might have a go with that just in case.

Bonsoir your day today sounded like a movie star: v. full diary daahling, what with hairdresser followed directly by fancy lunch.

I recommend that all you writer and creative types watch Liz Gilbert on Ted.com here very good.

I don't feel like a Timberland authority as mine aren't this season so might not be the same. But, I have skinny calves (33cm anyway) and boots are usually too big. These Timberlands are not tight, but not welly like either. I have often worn them with a skirt and they looked OK, and I generally wear them over skinnies with hiking socks under too, so width is not an issue. Today I had them under boyfriend jeans rolled up, and that worked well too. But you'd have to try them on!

Get well soon cake

Good news on the scan Carciofi, and so sorry about the Ireland troubles, but you'll soon be in the company of most of Southern Europe I suspect.

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 19:52

I must try this war on nits technique Tracey! Our plan of action is Hedrin, combing and all the cleaning. Apparentely the blighters can survive off human hair for a while. But we shall now add the 'preventative' bit to our arsenal as well.

Tethers - can't wait to hear if it is right in RL. That was quite some list of requiremnts to fill Wink

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 19:52

sorry - meant to say we are also big fans of the nitty gritty combs.

Zembo · 03/12/2010 19:54

Really feel for you Hells hate nits. I only do the nitty gritty + conditioner combo too and find it v effective although have only had one infestation. Also I haven't bought the Maxmara coat yet, waiting to see if any discounts/offers appear in the next week or so - loads of other places are discounting at the moment.

Abo I've got that red gap dress and not braved washing it yet. I think looby was going to try a hand wash cycle in her machine. I also have the same VWA dress as you but in the cerise colour. Just realised I have quite a bit or wardrobe duplication going on with you there Smile Hope your DS doesn't have the pox Sad

Forgot to mention I bought the rats too a few weeks ago (only a year after everyone else) - haven't worn yet but planning to soon.

MarshaBrady · 03/12/2010 19:54

Oh yes shoes. I am now wearing super chunky soled rather lovely leather boots from an Italian place in Kensington. Bought ten years ago and good as new! Plus walking with pram. Much better than the other day. Saw three people slip over today!

Zembo · 03/12/2010 20:01

Oh forgot to mention big purchase of the day ( Marsha and Bonsoir please look away now) - thermal boys tights for £1.49 from Lidl Grin - honestly felt so much better knowing my DS was wearing them today. Let's face it he's not going to let me put tights on him next year!

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 20:03

I should say that of course I would use least effort possible to get rid of nits.

I'm not saying all these things HAVE to be done every time...it's just that if none of the things you were doing were working...I would hope that you would try something else (iyswim)...

I'll stop about the nits now Grin

AllBuggiedOut · 03/12/2010 20:08

Grin at wradrobe duplication with zembo. And think the pox diagnosis is now confirmed. Itchy blisters, more appearing, high temperature and headache.

Gorgeous frock tethers

hellsbelles you are an absolute star. Thank you for finding a dress to fit my exacting requirements Smile

Zembo · 03/12/2010 20:28

Interesting that we're slightly polarised on the topic of the WIT lady. I agree with Vin that I kind of expect more of her since being a stylist is her day job (and she's childless, young etc)- she looks a bit ordinary. Much prefer Cakes style in her blog to be honest.
