Oh my God, I choked (try and hum along to We Three Kings...)!! But here is the new thread.

OP posts:
carciofi · 01/12/2010 20:02

Thanks .. yes, it is the 12 week scan. Reine, yes, I am going to QC. I suppose they have seen it all before but some of the sonographers are a bit grumpy!

LTEC, glad you got the sole, yum yum.

Fritzi, I tried giving her a box but she sat in it and pretended it was a boat. Grin And then unpacked some more.

Libra WIT and LTEC's. Sorry, Plum, I can't remember yours?

eshermummy · 01/12/2010 20:03

Sorry Zembo didn't see you were leaning towards the grey - they are both lovely, just depends on what colour coats you have already i guess!

FritziGreenEyes · 01/12/2010 20:04

Here only 9,99 EUR but sold out online.

notyummy · 01/12/2010 20:04

I would say grey Zembo.

Good luck for the scan carciofci.

Glad you had a lovely night LTEC - and managed some food. It sounded a bit like an episode of 'Im a celebrity' - not that I watch it Wink Three dinners between five!

Thanks for the maxi link Vin - it looks very cosy, albeit slightly difficult to wear in the 7 inches of snow we have here. Another heavy fall tonight predicted - and more bitter cold for the next few days, so no melting! They have just cancelled the Lincoln Xmas Market which is a huge event, and massive in terms of revenue to the region. It was also one of the things our guests at the weekend were coming for, so am not sure if they will now change their minds. Is it terrible to say that I would not be upset if they did? A quiet weekend would be nice....

Saw my first Xmas decorations up today (i.e in someones house) whilst out sledging with dd!

Not much to declare on the W & A front given current weather. Am still hacked off with TS at the unavailability of the coated jeans, and am contemplating ordering the Gap ones intead - they were more expensive though! [tight emoticon]

MarshaBrady · 01/12/2010 20:05

Ha ha Reine Grin

Good luck at scan Carciofi Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 01/12/2010 20:06

zembo The grey is lovely but depends which colour suits you better really.

CHOOGIRL · 01/12/2010 20:06

Zembo go with the grey. I tried on camel which was lovely and already have black coat. If you have HN nearby it may be worth popping in - coat only £415 in HN/Max Mara shop.

Zembo · 01/12/2010 20:07

Thanks for all the quick replies ladies -can always rely on you lot Grin.

Think I'll order both but I reckon even the size 6 might be too big Sad -can't cope with all this vanity sizing. Thanks for checking esher

Tracey love that goat cardicoat. Totally gorgeous - I have a similar coloured (Boden)one from a couple of years ago but quality is a bit crap and bobbling loads. Must admit am tempted, but then I'm tempted by far too many things linked to on here.

Carciofi v exciting re: scan.

Zembo · 01/12/2010 20:08

Fritzi I'm a winter, same as Choo so grey should work. Nearest HN is a bit of a trek but will think about it thanks.

blossoming · 01/12/2010 20:15

Yes, good luck with the scan carciofi.

Stall is tomorrow fritzi. And my mum's sewing machine has given up the ghost. I'm in a mad panic and contemplating wine.

LetThemEatCake · 01/12/2010 20:18

no no NY what do you take us for?? 5 of us eating, but 2 avid carnivores, so they were fine!! Just saw the sole sole (ha ha) slipping from my greedy grasp, was lucky!!

3 meals btwn 5 good god, the thought of dh in that situation LOL!!

carci how exciting best of luck!!

Fleecy · 01/12/2010 20:27

'tis no good contemplating wine bloss - you have to actually drink it Grin

carciofi hope all goes well tomorrow

ltec you do seem to be getting more than your money's worth from everyone's favourite dress at the moment. Nice work!

traceybath · 01/12/2010 20:30

LTEC has HH dress arrived yet?

Carciofi - good luck tomorrow - I think you're having a boy this time [fifty fifty emoticon]

LetThemEatCake · 01/12/2010 20:35

no no sorry tracey that's what I meant by no post for 2 days .. it's out there somewhere, argh!

sorry abut poorly DD, is A better?

Fleecy have only worn navy Janice 4 times ... does it seem like I am flogging it to death?? Grin

Fleecy · 01/12/2010 20:43

Ah, sorry - have seen it mentioned several times so they're probably the only ones! I've only worn mine twice and was feeling like I must be wasting it!

Mumsnut · 01/12/2010 20:48

Notyummy - are you anywhere near Harmston? I was born there and can remember very heavy snow when I was little - Lincolnshire is the only place I have ever lived where they put up snow fences every year to keep drifts from covering the roads. And the noise of Vulcans on the testbed at Waddington .... We are talking nearly 50 years ago, mind ...

LetThemEatCake · 01/12/2010 20:48

quick question ladies - my mum has lost quite a lot of weight (over 20lb!!!) since moving in with us and is now looking great

It is time for her to branch away from trousers and into dresses. Smile

She is tall, pear shaped, prob 10/12 top, 14 bottom, am thinking jersey prob most flattering for her? She likes plain stuff so no prints probably ... also would not be happy with £££ (I get my pikey gene from her) - where should I point her? M&S?? anywhere else?

LetThemEatCake · 01/12/2010 20:51

fleecy I have the stripey too maybe that's why Grin

mrsjuan · 01/12/2010 20:55

Evening all,
Love that song cake and hope it hit the right note (we're all about the puns tonight) for those who are feeling low.

carciofi all the best for the scan tomorrow - have you kept the pregnancy a secret from most people in RL so far?

Zembo hope the coat works out for you - I do feel sorry for the genuinely tiny people as I squeeze slip into size 8s in so many shops now.

bloss hope you get lots of customers tomorrow.

marsha & reine, my fellow sleepless ones. We have had a slight improvement over the last few nights. I think last week's shenanigans had a lot to do with teeth. Last night DD slept all night until half 5 which I'm counting as a success Grin She has also settled in our bed during the night a few times which is fine by me - anything for sleep!

I have also bought her a proper duvet to snuggle up in so we'll see if that makes any difference. [hopeful]

I have shredded Grin . Definitely noticed a difference using weights rather than bean tins as I did in the summer.

bunny sorry to hear about the weight troubles - all sounds positive though and I'm sure she'll catch up quickly. Also sorry to hear of wardrobe and advent calendar malfunction.

DD has this advent calendar which is beautiful and she loved opening the little window this morning. She is struggling with the concept that we only open 1 per day though Grin

A reasonable amount of snow here but most roads ok so not too much disruption. Brrrrr to those in chilly houses. Ours is a new build so has good insulation and DH & I are quite warm blooded anyway so I think we save quite a lot on heating bills. We have 3 floors though and the top floor can get a bit chilly but we hardly use that so just have to remember to turn the radiators on if we have guests.

My mum has a pathological hatred of central heating and her house has been known to reach 12 degrees - I'm sure it's often warmer outside Shock

Gosh, what an essay - apologies.

eshermummy · 01/12/2010 20:56

Carciofi good luck with scan tomorrow

NY heavy snow forecast overnight here too in which case dd1's school has pre-warned that they will be shut, as will dd2's nursery. Temps falling to -6 overnight apparently. Brrrrrrrrrr
Even more worrying is the threat that my cleaner may not show up tomorrow due to heavy snow! Decorators and plumbers finished up today (although not completely, they will be back in a few weeks to carry on once the electrician's been) so house v dusty.

LTEC Shock at trudging through snow in Edelmans. I tramped up to pub last night and wore Belstaffs as compromise between the suede shoe boots I wanted to wear and the snowboots I should have worn! Note to self, Belstaffs let in snow through the wrap around bits, not great.

after all this talk of Maxmara coats - I blame you Choo Wink I dug out my full length choc brown alpaca last night (dble breasted, slightly military) and wore with black fake fur russian cossack style hat DH bought me back from NY years ago. Much oohing and aahing over said coat and hat combo from other nursery mums

Fritzi me too with difficult dd's. Mine have done nothing but fight since dd1 came home from school. DD2 is impossibly whingy about everything at moment too which is just unbearable at times.
in fact have been feeling completely wrung out at end of day recently by the constant demands/shouting/noise of them both. So much so that I am thinking of using Vin's My W code if it is still valid? Vin could you re-post code for me please if it still works?

Who asked where my shearling was from - Fritzi? - it was Maxmara s few yrs ago now in the sale.

Bunny - did you not tell nanny about "no and no"Grin
Hope dd3 gains a little more, glad MW is on your side. I am assuming that as twins they are going to be a bit more on your case with them - when dd2 was born the MW /HV was totally uninterested really and just assumed everything would be fine given that I seemed to have successfully grown dd1 Hmm

MM hope you like the Romikas - did Zembo get them too? Florence I just got my usual size - I think Shoon has them instore.

MRsJ lol at searching for Nest for bijou children's wear.

Speaking of which (Bijou) I ordered these which arrived today as stocking fillers for the dds. Absolutely lovely, am sure the dds are going to be delighted by them.

Tracey - love that Goat coat but can I be a party pooper and urge you to give the seams a good pull as I bought the spring/summer version (not cashmere) and it started to unravel!I was rather unimpressed with quality for £220 tbh.

Am sure I have missed forgotten loads of stuff, apologies.

mrsjuan · 01/12/2010 20:56

cake - you do know you're supposed to feed your house guests don't you? Wink

notyummy · 01/12/2010 21:01

Mumsnut - We are 15 minutes away from Harmston, and have good friends who live there. It is actually NOT snowing at the moment Shock but is due to be falling heavily from midnight onwards.

LTEC - What about John Lewis for your mum? Range of stuff, and a wide price range.

blossoming · 01/12/2010 21:02

Machine working again. It's a race against time!!

eshermummy · 01/12/2010 21:03

meant to say Bloss good luck with the fair tomorrow night

CHOOGIRL · 01/12/2010 21:03

ROFL MrsJ I was just about to post the same thing. Grin
