Oh my God, I choked (try and hum along to We Three Kings...)!! But here is the new thread.

Love the sofa mm

We're working on the child-free reception - we have 5 beds so one for us, one for each child, one as my dressing room and one as my study. Downstairs we have a sitting room full of toys, dining room and eat-in kitchen but I like having the formal and informal eating space. So that only leaves a small study. Am slowly turning it from DH's study into a little snug for us to relax/read in when the mess is too much but I will lose my dressing room...

1980s 'executive' box here - not a thing of beauty but it's double glazed with newish boiler so it's an easy house to live in currently! Seem to lose a lot up the chinmey but that's a good excuse to light a fire Grin

Fleecy · 01/12/2010 12:00

choo how wonderful. You can travel the world leaving a trail of fabulous shoes behind you - what a mission!

Loro Piana for your DD Shock Envy Grin. Very gorgeous cashmere - my DP says his shareholders (Swiss family group) are dressed head-to-toe in Loro Piana!

I bought DP some slippers there a couple of years ago (very nice slippers, btw - much appreciated) and they have sent me thick expensive catalogues ever since.

I have been doing foot treatments - my feet are definitely not looking polished after three months doing the school run on foot and not being on show - and have dealt with horrible heels, long misshapen nails and unruly cuticles. But still think I should probably book in for a pedicure...

DD is doing surreptitious listening of a CD of Christmas Carols - can't really do that when DP and DSSs are around! Just as long as she doesn't start singing "Christian children all must be mild, obedient etc etc" when DP is home Blush

bunnymother · 01/12/2010 12:23

Hello ladies!

Well, a Style and Beauty crime has been committed here. Wonder Nanny dressed DD1 in her dusky rose (aka pink) Zara skinny cords, her darker, brighter rose (aka pink) top, then topped it off w a lilac (aka purple) cardi. My eyes almost popped out of my head. No and no and no!!! Its far too much. I do like DD in some shades of pink and purple, but am super fussy and I only like highlights of those colours, not an entire ensemble.

And now, just to finish me off, Wonder Nanny bought an advent calendar for DD1 from M&S. And its Hello Kitty. Christ, I thought I was safe suggesting M&S. Who knew they stocked that vile stuff??

Sorry... Had to vent!

Thank you so much for all the lovely compliments, and I agree DD1 is stunning and looks v much like DH. Our little precious. The smaller precious bundles are doing well but am a bit upset as it seems hospital weighed DD3 about 5 times when born and picked the highest weight [hmmm]. Midwife comes yesterday, weighs DD3 (measured against recorded birth weight, which I think was incorrect), which indicates she has lost 15% of birth weight and talks hospitalisation w tubes. Although have a reprieve as MW immediately questioned recorded birth weight due to DD3's apparent healthy state (even MW couldn't get more formula down her, she is content and pooing away) and suggested she return today to see how much she has gained in 24 hours. So... I have had to go back to force feeding w formula every 3 hours to make sure she passes today's weight test. Amidst some hormonal tears.

BTW am about to buy a Belly Bandit (I know you suggested Agent Prov. Dolce, but the Bandit looks v good, too). Somebody stop me?

Sorry for the long long me me me essay!!!!

Bonsoir - definitely pannacotta. My DH adores it (although we buy from M&S - the shame!) and I think its lovely too.

Zembo - my God, you are a force of nature, aren't you - that party for your DS sounds superb.

I 2nd Hells comments re some of the super mums on this thread. Quite inspirational!

Sending you kisses on your lovely cheeks EIE - you do have beautiful facial structure BTW. You will be ever lovely.

Oh my goodness.

I just looked at the Loro Piana website. Sob how beautiful!

And all that one palette cashmere and luxuriousness. Oh .

MarshaBrady · 01/12/2010 12:27

Oh Bunny. So nice to read your posts agains, so lovely Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 01/12/2010 12:33

Oh bunny we had similar style mishaps with DD's nanny when she was little so I totally understand that you're upset. Also about the calendar...

Please try not to worry too much about birth weight of your little one. Isn't it normal that babies loose weight within the first week after they are born before it picks up again? Hope everything's going to be alright with weigh in today!

MarshaBrady · 01/12/2010 12:34

Yes they really do. In the first week, then start gaining again.

Bonsoir · 01/12/2010 12:37

LOL bunnymother at "Style & Beauty crime". If I am honest, that is probably, in my heart of hearts, my deepest fear about any form of childcare Blush.

Having said that, Hello Kitty does feature in DD's life - it is quite impossible to exclude her entirely. DD has an alarm clock, a money box, an actually quite tasteful red wheely suitcase and lots of hairslides and jewellery.

bunnymother · 01/12/2010 12:39

Thanks Fritzi and Marsha, hospital policy where I am is that 10% is OK, but no more. And to lose 15% means a trip to hospital is required. The only saving grace here is that MW doesn't believe recorded weight is accurate (so, DD3 hasn't lost that much) and that she appears clinically healthy. Obv weight of baby is far more important than what DD1 wears, but KNEW I would have a sympathetic audience here Grin. DH will die when he sees Hello Kitty calendar - he hates the stuff as much as I do.

Bunny - I had the weight loss things with Arthur and it was very stressful. They kept threatening to re-admit to NICU but luckily on the key date he gained an oz.

Good luck with HV visit today Grin

DC's all have chocolate advent calendars - do I get struck-off the thread now Wink

Goat cardi-coat just arrived and is gorgeous - super flattering and warm.

DS2 still poorly and just not eating - he is so skinny as not exactly well-covered to begin with.

New tatler has just arrived - am about to read VB's beauty secrets. Will she confess to much botox - I think not.

bunnymother · 01/12/2010 12:41

Bonsoir - do you know, I try NOT to be a control freak Wink, but DD1's outfits are something I care about and like to choose. Am resisting Hello Kitty as long as I can, but it snuck in when my guard was down.

When we were on holiday in Morocco in April 2009, there was a pubescent Belgian girl with a black bikini with Hello Kitty in silver studs on her nipples. DD was in total awe Angry

blossoming · 01/12/2010 12:48

Just need to vent again about chinti & parker, and especially about this sweater which is making it into all the style pages Angry Angry. Do they think we're fools?

blossoming - I had never heard of chinti & parker, but that rip-off sweater is unbelievably drab - looks like Monoprix on a bad day!

blossoming · 01/12/2010 12:55

Sorry about that!

everything, very irresponsible of someone to bring in chocolates I say. There was an article in Grazia recently about 'feeders'. Does anyone remember it? I know my cousin does it, and she has weight issues.
Hope you're okay, or at least working things out.
choo, I would have loved to have someone like you in my workplace! What a social life! I'm sitting looking out at a cold frosty and very snowy lake and mountains, but sometimes I would swap it all for a proper night out in London!!
bunny, glad to hear you sounding so normal! I don't know how to avoid character clothing. Ds seems to be head to toe Ben10 sometimes. Thank goodness for school uniform.

How much can I charge for a nice ginger biscuit, shaped like a tree, decorated with white icing and jelly tots? How much would you pay harrassed parents?
Dh said they were delicious and worth £4.00. I do love him!

Everything - thought this site might appeal to you? Vintage and a good cause!

Bunny - Great to hear from you, but sorry to hear re weight woes.

It is STILL snowing here. So far we have made a space ship and a dalek, been outside and made a snow castle, done 'school' stuff with flash cards and are currently watching the Mupper Xmas Carol. Xmas pictures and cards, plus sledging this afternoon....but snow is v deep for our sledge!

blossoming · 01/12/2010 13:49

Thanks everything! I was thinking 40p! They're my 'get the children to my stall and bring the parents' secret weapon. Have just finished and I'm pleased with how they look.

Anyone else have the Times? I love the no.8 look in the winter fashion bit: pure collection grey jumper over black long sleeve top, black gloves, black trousers and sunglasses! I may have to dig mine out!!

carciofi · 01/12/2010 13:49

Bunny, hope you don't have to go back to hospital with DD3. LOL at the style mishap!

RG, I love those Timberlands, going to get them as soon as I get the money together!

Everything, thinking of you.

Blossoming, I'd probably pay £3.

I am a total jeans snob but these just arrived and are as nice as any J Brands I have! Size down not up as the reviews say.

We are in a Victorian mansion block with very draughty sash windows and it is freezing. I was brought up in a freezing, old Victorian house so I am quite hardy!

DD has just unpacked the one box I have managed to pack, I am starting to panic about the move as have so much to do.

carciofi · 01/12/2010 13:53

Harrods have 30% off starting next Monday for Reward card holders.

Lovely sofa, MM!

Bonsoir · 01/12/2010 13:56

Have just had a handyman round to put up shelves/blackboard/hooks etc in DCs' bedrooms and of course DD and I are busy rearranging everything. The DCs' rooms are chock-a-block with furniture - no more could possibly be crammed in! What is it with children and clutter???
