Oh my God, I choked (try and hum along to We Three Kings...)!! But here is the new thread.

OP posts:
hf128219 · 27/11/2010 08:23

MM God, silly people. Like the Cinderella/Coach idea.

Second Libra's Essaouira suggestion.

Loved those scarves you linked to on another thread. Liberty have some lovely Simeon Farrar ones. Great one here

I am so cold. This house is beyond freezing. I have doors shut, heating on full etc - but I am shivering!

traceybath · 27/11/2010 08:31

MM - honestly how utterly mad. Would love to think what they would have made of one of my friend's DS who spent every spare moment dressed as a princess.

Snow here!

Thanks for hotel recommendations - going to look into all ideas.

DH and I had long talk about houses last night - he wants to move into a much better rental for another 12 months and then buy as theres just so little around. So back looking at those now.

Yangy - I hope you have a lovely weekend with your DDs Smile

Oh and MM - I was up most of the night with DD and DH got grumpy because she disturbed him for 5 minutes Angry

Dolcee - you inspired me and have my sofa covers in washing machine already. Am doing my big pre-christmas spring clean Grin

traceybath · 27/11/2010 08:32

Oh and not going out tonight as DS2 still poorly.

hf128219 · 27/11/2010 08:39

Tracey Probably a sensible idea about the house.

The good thing about Kasbah Tamadot (although expensive) is that children under 6 stay free. Lovely for a few nights in the mountains.

Have great days everyone. I am off Christmas shopping - have so many parties (dd's chums mostly) to go to so need to get some little pressies.

Smile
VerityBrulee · 27/11/2010 08:50

MM your hosts sound awful, I would refuse point blank to go, you are much more accomodating of your DPs wishes than I am of mine. Hopefully dd will be oblivious to it all and just have fun.

cakey what brill suggestions, I am often envious of your quick-wittedness Smile

HF it's freezing here too, we had and amazing snow storm last night, lots of thunder and lightening and what sounded like golf-ball sized hailstones, I was afraid they were going to come through the sky-light. Got up to get water and was greeted by a snowy back garden. Dc so excited this morning, I am thinking of the ruins of my meticulously planned weekend, as everything will now grind to a halt. The Irish cannot cope with snow, you can bet your life the schools will be closed next week and the supermarket shelves denuded of food Hmm

Wearing my M&S kids thermal tights (highly recommended to those under 5'4" Wink), ancient Uggs, and about 20 misc layers. The other day I found a Landsend Stadium Squall that I bought in the sale for snowy days, not sure I can do it though, it's pretty hideous and for some reason I bought it in red, so I will bear a strong resemblance to Santa Claus, not a great look really.

Rufus dying to hear about the haircut Smile

Carciofi Dc watching recording of last nights Late Late toy show, bring back any memories for you? Smile

Bonsoir · 27/11/2010 08:55

[[http://www.jnanetamsna.com/ Another, more expensive glamorous Marrakesh hotel. Reliable friends of mine have stayed here with their DCs and say it is really lovely and very accommodating.

Bonsoir · 27/11/2010 08:55

Another

VerityBrulee · 27/11/2010 08:57

Tracey sorry about your cancelled plans. I am so envious of your housekeeping enthusiasm, you always sound so organised and several steps ahead of yourself, while I run along desperately trying to catch up!

Yes yangy you desevre a lovely relaxing weekend, have fun.

HF enjoy your shopping time Envy

OK got to bundle up and brave the outdoors for bread and milk. Have great weekends everyone Smile

LetThemEatCake · 27/11/2010 09:14

Sorry about poorly ds and your cancelled plans Tracey

mm forgot to say that yes, I received a returns email from Isabella Oliver for the pegs, so chase them up!

Two domestic points:

  1. Why do my children sleep until 7.30 or later on nursery mornings, meaning that we are rushed for 8.30 departure- yet up, awake and bouncing on our bed at 6.30 on a Saturday ?
  1. Realised complaints re my dh and sugar were a bit random- to clarify, he then doesn't supervise their teeth brushing, just leaves them to it. Annoying!!

Finally, I rarely get involved in discussions on clothing for dds as I take a raggle taggle approach to dc dressing, but for anyone interested, got some l/s dresses in H&M the other day, a vivid purple (I am fine with purple if it's a string shade!) and grey all over owl print, very sim to the kind of stuff you get from the scandi labels for big bucks. Over a pair of leggings great for nursery/ park etc and only 5.99. Dd looks adorable.

blossoming · 27/11/2010 09:26

Aargh dd has just 'painted' the carpet with waterproof mascara! (I can just hear my mum saying 'why do you need all that make up anyway'!)

Love all your replies to monkeysmama.

hf128219 · 27/11/2010 09:27

LTEC DD enjoying Charlie and Lola so although I am all ready to go she is quite happy where she is. Would be rude to interrupt, non?

DD is the same here. Actually she has been up at 06.30 everyday recently. She didn't got to bed 'til 20.40 last night. I know that the minute dh gets back she will sleep until 08.00!

Clothes? Now dd loves pink and purple! I know that is considered 'No and No' Grin

LetThemEatCake · 27/11/2010 09:42

hf I am fine with pink too as long as not glittery/ logo/ pastel/ head to toe. I like dd in deep pink and chocolate brown, or fuschia and grey. You know what she looks like, so you can no doubt imagine that she suits these colours (a winter?? Grin)

bonsoir my dd is very keen on 'mascarpone' as she calls it. For her, though, not carpet Grin Now that really is a 'no' and 'no'

Tracey please please tell me how you manage your domestic excellence with 3 dc?? Do they sleep in the day? Or just very good at independent play? I am in awe since the only way I can sort washing out is by turning it into a play involving a mad washerwoman. As for baking/ sorting/ cleaning - forget it.

verity I love your 'take no prisoners approach to unreasonable relatives and to the cold Grin

On which note... Off to swathe self in layers of thermals and cashmere. A bientot!

traceybath · 27/11/2010 09:46

Lordy I am not that good at doing stuff but remember H is at school and Bea still naps and Arthur is very good at independent play - in fact they all are to be fair.

But if you could only see my sitting room at the moment - as I have stripped sofas of cushions they have turned it into a soft play area with duvets, pillows etc.

Our road is sheet ice so am going nowhere today.

Bloss - how annoying regarding mascara!

Oh dear better go - H is face-painting the other 2 with coal-dust Hmm

LetThemEatCake · 27/11/2010 09:49

Doh sorry bloss not bonsoir!!

And zembo, thinking of you

pickledsiblings · 27/11/2010 09:54

MM I'm sure your DD will really enjoy herself at the party and that you will look particularly fetching in your eyepatch. I don't think at 2.5 the kids will even notice each others outfits. Perhaps the hostess has done boys and girls party bags and doesn't want your DD to feel odd at being given a girly princess one when she is v. obviously a pirate. Still, it wouldn't take much to just swap the contents around. Some folk! Don't take it personally - it probably just party neurosis.

All this talk of Morroco is making me yearn for hotter climes. We've thought about going en famille a few times over the past couple of years but DH is rather cautious about travelling to Arab countries with the DC. Me, not so much, but then I did grow up in NI.

About the cost of the pods:

15K for a fairly basic 3.5 x 2.5m one. Very reasonably priced compared to others of a similar spec on the market. I can definitely recommend the company for their customer service/professionalism and speed of installation (2 days from start to finish Shock).

LTEC I can just see you at a grand piano in your lovely velvet frock (It sounds like a bridesmaid dress I had Grin). Can't you experiment on it? I am sure with your many talents, acquired whilst 'ageing' Lally, you can turn it into something with a more vintage feel.

Tracey moving somewhere nicer is a lovely prospect, especially if it means no uprooting. How exciting.

pickledsiblings · 27/11/2010 10:08

Oops, sorry for huge post. It didn't look that big on the ipad, honestly. And in my defence, I am not usually lounging around at this time on a Sat. morning but DD's group violin has been cancelled

Oh and esher well done you for taking your DC swimming. You planted a seed which meant that mine ended up at home playing the wii. A friend's DD that I normally take as well didn't feel too good so it didn't take much to renege on the whole operation (which btw is also not my fav. act of love Smile).

People are crazy though Vin - lordy you only have to read half the threads on here to realise that Wink

What have you bought?

I've been weak as well Vin and I Blame you!! You see kept thinking about the goat cardi-coat and then re-found your my-wardrobe code so ordered it as won't be going shopping/out later Blush Grin

Oh and am contemplating ordering some type of draws/storage to go by my back door for shoes and school bags etc - anyone got or know of any nice ones?

Oh and do we have a venue for the 12th yet?

Zembo - have you got much snow?

MM - I dare you to go to the party in your pleathers, eyepatch and pirate type jacket Wink

LetThemEatCake · 27/11/2010 10:34
