Oh my God, I choked (try and hum along to We Three Kings...)!! But here is the new thread.

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 26/11/2010 00:09

that's actually very similar to the CK one I bought at TKs the other week .. except mine just has a bit of embellishment on one shoulder. Or both shoulders? hmm, can't remember. Shape is same though, very flattering.

Right I have finished my boring work thing I had to do tonight so had better get to bed. Good night!

AllBuggiedOut · 26/11/2010 00:10

Night night. If you have time for one more link... here you go.

Haven't bought the shoes yet, still pondering.

LetThemEatCake · 26/11/2010 00:11

I am and I'm not. I can see it works well on others but I don't seem to be able to get along with it. Which is weird bc the Janices are surely VWA inspired??

I think it's just a little too grown up for me. Honestly, I am pathetic, 38 in a few weeks!

hf128219 · 26/11/2010 00:12

ABO I have that in the grey and silver, as well as the purple. Grin

LetThemEatCake · 26/11/2010 00:16

at last!! an ugly dress. My spending gene has been shocked into silence before bedtime.

Night!

AllBuggiedOut · 26/11/2010 00:17

Grin at hf

And know what you mean about too grown up. I adore my purple one and do think it looks fab on, but so far it's only been out to dinner, never to something casual or potentially raucous!

hf128219 · 26/11/2010 00:31

Ordered the VWA dress! Now listening to Leonard Cohen. Smile

Shit, up at 05.00.

OllieWollieWoo · 26/11/2010 07:20

DH has an early meeting locally so has done the school run - so nice to have a relaxed start to the day!

Decided to celebrate the last year of being in my thirties and have invited 6 sets of parents (who are now friends) from DS1's school for afternoon drinks in a couple of weeks. If they all bring their children ther will be 16 kids running around the house - as DS1 put it "mummy, my bedroom is going to be very busy"!

Had DS1 parents evening last night - very pleased with what was said. Teacher told us a story where they were talking about ships and pirates and then DS1 and his friend had a big debate about there still being pirates in Africa and (DS1's contribution} the South China sea - its amazing how they just pick this sort of info up!

Nice to see you on here agin Libra - glad everything is going well - was a beautiful name you've picked.

HF - how horrible for you (the spitting and getting up at 5am!).

Loved clicking on the party frock links.

We have a busy WE - out tonight for meal with 2 sets of neighbours, a Sinterklaas party for the kids tomorrow morning at DHs work and then a b-day party at an indoor play centre (shudder) on Sunday morning that will also involve a lunch of chicken nuggets and chips (even bigger shudder!). Must also finish present shopping and start the wrapping.

Have a goood day all.

OllieWollieWoo · 26/11/2010 08:26

BTW - Still no snow. Boo!

LetThemEatCake · 26/11/2010 08:46

well done hf it's lovely. Report back!!

weird thing - tried on the red dress again last night (couldn't bear to just put on jim jams after clicking on all the frock links Wink) and it looked good!! what's with that?? will try again this morning and get dh's opinion.

OWW sounds like a lovely weekend and I love the sound of your 'do and the busy bedroom Grin Well done on the school night too, how lovely

okay it's a non-nursery day so it's me ad 3 dc against the world today. Smile Off to rug up and get out of the house nice and early. Have good days!!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 26/11/2010 08:50

Aghh I don't like the gold HL dress, think it screams LOOK AT ME I'M SEXY, which I don't think IS sexy, whilst the Phase 8 one is a little more demure a bit more come unwrap the package and see what I got!

I am intrigued by this Janice dress, would it be flattering to someone who still has post-pregnancy jelly belly or is it cling to every curve jersey material?

HF hope you got some sleep and I love that VW dress you linked too (it has sleeves for a start)

LTEC that ebay dress is nice and also could double up as a 30s flapper dress (in a good way!) if you went to a fancy dress party

OWW no snow is a good thing!

I have a mulled wine and mince pie party on Sunday, I estimate at least 30 adults and 15 children will be invading my house maybe more, and of course I haven't got a thing to wear sigh

OllieWollieWoo · 26/11/2010 08:56

Libra I just splurted out a mouthful of tea at your 'come unwrap the package and see what I got" comment - genius! We should use that as the next W&A title!

Glad you are having a party too - I can use yours as a trial run Smile. Was thinking of setting up a little table of christmas crafts for the girls that are coming - bit worried about what will happen to them if they enter DSs rooms! Thought about just putting Xmas pictures, stickers, glitter pens, gold and silver card etc out for them to make whatever? Plan B is a a treasure hunt for gold coins in the garden, Plan C is a dvd!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 26/11/2010 09:05

oww erm your plan C is my plan A! DH did suggest we put it on in one of the upstairs rooms (the children coming are aged between x months and 5 years as you can imagine both eyebrows went up at this suggestion), however our house has an all-ine-one kitchen, dining room and living room (no I don't live in a studio flat :) ) so we will be putting children in living room with christmas DVDs (so far Polar Express, Muppets Christmas carol and Shrek the Hall) whilst adults get drunk in dining room/kitchen pretending to keep eye on children.

pickledsiblings · 26/11/2010 09:13

Libra the stripey Janice is v. tummy (and bottom)friendly. A combination of clever draping and fairly sturdy stretchy fabric. You should definitely try it.

OllieWollieWoo · 26/11/2010 09:13

Libra You house sounds like the same layout as ours and I was thinking about moving TV which met with the same reaction from my DH as yours! I was able to use this situation as the perfect example as to why we need an extra room on the back of the house tho - my campaign (Operation Extension) has just stepped up a notch! Will now ask the friends who are coming to subtley mention what a great space for extending the house we have - cunning, me?

OllieWollieWoo · 26/11/2010 09:16

LTEC - post a pic of the dress maybe for the W&A jury to consider?!
Blossoming I keep looking at your feathers dress on John Lewis website. Its not going to suit a summer is it????

notyummy · 26/11/2010 10:11

Morning all!

Libra - great to hear from you. What a beautiful name for your dd!

LTEC - I did laugh about your jeans and lentils outfit suggestion! I am going out to a 40th dinner tomorrow night, and I know that all the ladies will be in Fat Face A line knee length skirts and tunic tops (I know - they have their place....but at a 40th, really?) I am planning to waer my leopard maxi as i have not debuted it in Lincolnshire yet! Never knowingly underdressed...

FritziGreenEyes · 26/11/2010 10:17

OWW Great plans for the party! We have a double-invitation for the 5th. Don't know how we can make two parties in one afternoon?! Don't think bloss's feather dress would be good for us summers. It's lovely though.

No luck in Zara yesterday. Feel too tired and run-down to enjoy shopping anymore. Will have an early night tonight and hope I'll find coat tomorrow. First proper day off in two weeks, yay! And we had snow this morning. DD bouncing with excitement.

Hope all is well with bunny and the bunnikins.

blossoming · 26/11/2010 10:21

Morning all! It is tipping down with snow here, and dh has done a health and safety assessment and stayed at home to work! Good job too, so far two police cars and ambulance have zoomed past.

ollie, that dress is a winter through and through! All mine!
My dad's b'day party on 23rd is turning massive with cousins and girlfriends (all young and skinny) coming. Will be a Bec occasion most definite!
Your party sounds my idea of hell fun!

carciofi, thanks again for that code. I may buy 2. For work..!

hells, glad you liked them. Thanks for your kind words.

libra, congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Lovely name. Try the janice. It could be perfect.

Am making bara brith fir the school fair. Oh, and soap. Not in the same pan. Strange smells here I can tell you. I only use Simple soap, but the pink champagne one from last night smells nice as does thus one: basil sage and mint.

traceybath · 26/11/2010 10:28

Morning All!

HF - oh my god said in best teen girl fashion - that is utterly gross! Honestly I would have probably cried. Lovely dress though!

Libra - lovely name for your DD and did lol at your unwrap the package comment. However for me they'd normally find industrial strength spanx which is not that alluring Wink

Just been to waitrose and stocked up as have snow-fear after the debacle of last year.

Soaps sound good Bloss!

OWW - what are you wearing tonight?

DolceeBanana · 26/11/2010 10:33

Oh dear...dh is near Chirk today! Hoping he misses the snow...as we are supposedly out tonight. Lovely though Bloss when you can sit in the warmth and watch the snowy scene.

Your snow boots look fab...In similar warmth needed induced panic have ordered the Hobbs Gilbert coat but they only had an 8, thought 10 would be better with jumpers etc underneath though, so we shall see!

Right, have loads of chores - big clean up, and struggling with sofa covers which have been washed and dried.

roary · 26/11/2010 10:42

Am STILL sick - violently ill again last night after eating rice. So have to do some tests for the GP today.

I checked out the Ferrero Rocher in RL last week and was decidedly underwhelmed - it is just not quite right. I didn't even try it on.

My big JCrew order arrived (cunningly disguised as Xmas pressie by dear friend in US) and it's lovely. will report when feeling better.

ReineDeSaba · 26/11/2010 10:47

Morning..what a treat to come in and click on to a heap of party dresses..the pucci was the winner for me ABO but regrettably sold out in my size Wink

Notyummy good for you to bring out the big guns/leopard print.tunic tops and A line skirts..there is a lovely mum at nursery who lives in short tunic tops and threadbare leggings [too much on show emoticon]

I am shredding again.have also picked up 'the biggest loser' work out in the states which is also gillian.am sure it will be on amazon.liking some variation and have unopened tao bo(sp?) that ny recommended

hope bunny full of bliss today

ReineDeSaba · 26/11/2010 10:48

oh roary that's awful..doubly hard to be ill with a baby to take care of

blossoming · 26/11/2010 10:54

dolcee, Chirk? It's not that far from here! I'm sure you'll be fine in an 8. You're tiny!!

Sorry you're still poorly roary. Dry toast and weak black tea from me.
