Come join me!
Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

I feel a bit out of place offering advice Zembo cos you know everyone else well, but wanted to urge you to listen to your body and not push beyond what you can manage right now. I had a health issue recently and kept pushing on and on, and it became much worse. I should have taken note of the fact that my body was yelling "rest". Obviously if you really feel working and keeping busy is ideal then you know yourself best. Wishing you well.

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 14:01

On a very superficial note, ladies, this is what keeps me going when considering a massive renovation:

lush!

It's another no compromise issue. We do the job, he gets chickens, I get this, pleeeeeeeeeeease!

traceybath · 23/11/2010 14:02

I do love a plain english kitchen Grin But not so much the pricetag

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 14:04

Ha! Yes, well, I think I've earned this one!

We can make savings on clothes...er, what am I saying....

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 14:06

And also, its an investment. You are not going to rip one out in 20 years time because they are so well made...see, I've convinced myself!

Tried to take dh in there yesterday, but they were closed!

MarshaBrady · 23/11/2010 14:07

Yes Dolce you must!

We had a Plain English person here to quote at one point. Lovely, lovely kitchens. We are waiting til we do the big move in the future.

Check out Drummonds for flooring too.

Zembo Sad it is big, take it easy. Hugs, lovely.

LetThemEatCake · 23/11/2010 14:09

I am not in the slightest bit into interiors Dolce but that is lovely

LetThemEatCake · 23/11/2010 14:11

yes another vote for warehouse scarf - wearing it today (WIT) Grin

Bonsoir · 23/11/2010 14:12

I just adore those Plain English kitchens/cupboards, and they would be perfect for this apartment with its high ceilings and original features in the kitchen and office. But it's not going to happen Sad any time soon!

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 14:15

Love that whole timeless, simple, immaculate design vibe.

Drummonds do look very good too!

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 14:19

I once spent a weekend in a 'posh' b and b in Cornwall, all Plain English kitchens and Forbes and Lomax light switches...so, so gorgeous.

Okay, on to clothes, yes, love my Warehouse scarf too...dh hates it, and calls it 'Aveline'...I ask you! It looks good with my Biker Barbour anyway!

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 14:19

Bonsoir - I can just imagine you in your Paris apartment...sounds wonderful!

LetThemEatCake · 23/11/2010 14:21

back on the red dress thing - spotted this but watch the video, that thing at the side would drive me mad wouldn't it?

bunnymother · 23/11/2010 14:22

Oh Zembo, you poor love. I wish I could say something to make you feel better. I am so sad reading your post that you feel broken inside. I hope you can rest and be good to yourself for as long as it takes. Am even going so far as to send you kisses: xxx. Which does, of course, mean MN HQ will now cancel my account Wink

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 14:27

Yes, would drive you mad Cake, but nice dress!

bunnymother · 23/11/2010 14:28

Wise Ladies, do we know how to send a Private Message to more than 1 person at a time?? Am scrambling about getting nowhere fast...

Oh, MrsJ - don't worry, no one heard you whisper the name of the shop that dare not speak its name (rhymes w Mazda), but still am surreptitiously whispering back a thank you for the tip re affordable DC clothes...

bunnymother · 23/11/2010 14:29

Cakey - side detail on that dress would drive you bonkers!

Bonsoir · 23/11/2010 14:29

Dolce - the architecture is basically lovely (Art Deco), but we have had serious problems with leaks and I have lots of redecorating to do (which cannot happen until the insurers have done their stuff) and nasty peeling paintwork in the bedrooms Sad.

DP had the kitchen and the dressing room fitted just under 6 years ago (I was too busy with DD to get involved) so I don't think a kitchen refit is on the cards at all. Basically all the fitted/walk in cupboards (of which there are many) could do with a complete refit à la Plain English and I'd be able to get twice as many clothes and plates into the space available.

I do love really tidy, well organised storage. That's the Excel part of my brain at work.

Romanarama · 23/11/2010 14:39

I don't have excel installed in my brain. That's the root of my professional problems.

Bonsoir · 23/11/2010 14:40

Come and live in France. Excel gets installed by osmosis when you spend your days with all those prépa-HEC-X types Wink.

Romanarama · 23/11/2010 14:42

Got enough énarques in my life Wink

LetThemEatCake · 23/11/2010 14:42

everyone ready for a new thread? I nominate bunny to do the honours

OllieWollieWoo · 23/11/2010 14:49

Zembo - very wise words from all your W&A friends. Big hugs to you.

Bunny - sending you lots of positive vibes for tomorrow. I'm another who feels I've really participated (is that the right word?) in this pregnancy and am also stupidly excited about hearing any news! As a twin myself, I know that your 2 little cuties will always have a very special relationship with each other - and with your DD (once she has got over the whole 'when are they going back to the hospital?' thing if she is anything like my older sister!)

Haven't had a Daily Mail link for oh, about
a week Smile so let me leave you with this - do they really think its a copy of KM's dress? Its on ok dress in a great colour but nothing like KM's! And as for the ring..... here

Fleecy · 23/11/2010 14:49

bunny if you're reading this, hope all goes calmly and smoothly tomorrow. Bet you're looking forward to meeting your girls.

LTEC too many outfit choices for the evening do - agree the Tibi may not be right but don't blame you for wanting to get more wear out of such a beautiful dress.

dolce how exciting! Is the house liveable as is or will you do the work then move in? That's a lovely kitchen. We re-did ours and it's very modern - my dream house (next move!) will be an old house with a classic kitchen like that so we decided to have fun with ours here and go for something much more contemporary. We have lime green and silver wallpaper now which ain't to everyone's taste but we like it Grin

poly there's a Lily and Lionel animal print scarf on ebay at the moment here

zembo I'm so sorry. Sounds like you do need some more time. EIther way, will be thinking of you.

ny those horrid raises are indeed dreadful and it's good to know you find them difficult too as I know you're fit!

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 16:45

Fleecy - house completely not liveable, and thankfully so!

Thinking of you Bunny! All the best for tomorrow. Have you got the music sussed...Claire de Lune always reminds me of our DSs birth Smile
