Come join me!
Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 22/11/2010 22:20

Yes Esher has it!

Hells love The Trip too! Damn am in bed already.

bunnymother · 22/11/2010 22:22

Super quick...

Cakey - I think Janice sounds right. Gosh your DD looks so like you in that FB photo, precious child. Perhaps have that post removed as reveals your ID?

Roary - I wouldn't drive from Paddington to Sloane Sq for 7pm dinner. I think the traffic would be v bad so recommend the Circle line tube instead ( gulp - you know things are bad if I am suggesting the tube!!)

bunnymother · 22/11/2010 22:24

Oh and Marsha - DS2 is almost 1 already?! Was similarly shocked when Cakey's DS2 and Tracey's DD turned 1. Surely they were only born the other month?? How these babes do grow.

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2010 22:27

Yes! Am feeling that mixture of happiness and excess emotion eek! Grin

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 22:47

it just goes to show how long this thread has been going for doesn't it?

should we have first birthday party? Grin

look where it all began - 17th of Jan!!!!

thanks for all your advice, nice comments and encouragement re dance. I really appreciate it.

PS Hells and Marsha, if I fall off dukan wagon will I go to fat camp hell? Just for one night??

bunny and zembo rest and be kind to your amazing selves.

bunny thank you re post. I am useless with FB privacy stuff, don't get it at all. Have removed.

Romanarama · 22/11/2010 22:47

Roary I would deffo drive in your shoes. If you arrive between 6.30 and 7 there'll be masses of space to park on single yellow lines (but check for signs by the side of the road in case they have sneaky roads with different rules.)

Tracey I'd already admired those shoe boots and think I may also get the Geiger ones. Though with snow forecast I should prob resign myself to the next 3 months in timberlands like last year :(

monkeysmama · 22/11/2010 23:05

I saw your post Cakey & thought I'll keep reading before I reply along lines of "not Tibi nor Janice" and ha ha che sorpresa the wonderful Esher gets in first! I was thinking exactly the same - I'd def go black rats and edelmans rather than Janice. Imo you want to look different enough & like you've made an effort but not like you've made a huge effort iyswim. My bf (is that right for bestfriend not boyfriend!) is a similar build to you and looks so glam in black rats - the slimness, the height. They're leggings but soooo much more. They totally fit the bill. Re top will have to have a think. Did you get the sequin coat? I reckon you'll see someone else in Janice?

Is that totally off?

I wonder if it's the same nursery style as we go to for mum & LO sessions. I was asked not to wear my Hunters because if obvious branding.

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2010 23:06

Haha you will be ok. Wotchoo going to have? Dh used to make fun saying yeah it's working but one ounce of carb and you'll inflate like a balloon. The bugger!

First thread. Remember it well. Someone asked if I was a troll for shopping in Liberty so soon after ds2 was born. Grin Little did they know I would not miss a parental shopping trip even if day after. Actually was quite easy just get taxis.

I also saw a R Mourant dress I suggested for Roma for work ( too dressy, no go ) fly through the outnet the other day. NaP to the outnet is this thread's natural life cycle!

monkeysmama · 22/11/2010 23:11

We have to have a first birthday party.

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 23:18

roary I would drive too but mostly bc thought of cutting evening short for train would fill me with dread. Once I'm out, I like to be out. (and for dh to drive Grin)

I don't know the area well though, sorry. Could you perhaps drive somewhere less populated, park and then cab it? or too much faffola?

MM that sounds very full on re branding. This is not like that, but a tad 'alternative' (not Steiner or Mont, run by artists) Thank you for advice too. Yes I did get sequin jacket Smile. It's great.

Marsha done it, did it. 2 kiwi fruits and a blob of honey on my flippin' 0% yoghurt. Funny how that can feel like a total binge after 2 weeks of tuna Hmm

Will avoid scales for a few days!!

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2010 23:26

Sounds nice! It won't do anything I'm sure. I was pretty bad -wine, marshmallows etc

AllBuggiedOut · 22/11/2010 23:47

Evening all - what a busy weekend!

zembo really just what others have said. Be gentle with yourself.
I am still obsessing about the brick dress btw, although have accepted your wise words and am returning the 12. Olivia Rubin (along with Pied a Terre, Dune and others) are having a sample sale on South Molton Street this Friday and Saturday where my elusive bargain frock will be available for £55, so I'm calling in favours with friends and trying to get somebody to score a 10 for me. Fingers crossed...

Roary love the coat.

bloss and other shreders, how on earth does Anita keep up those superman moves without putting her arms down? Even badass Natalie touches the floor each time. It makes me hurt just to watch her!

Popped into Reiss at the weekend and although came out with nothing, was very tempted by this navy lace top and this dress would be very useful although could do with losing a lb or two first...

LetThemEatCake · 23/11/2010 00:30

hello ABO lovely navy top, saw it in RL, fab.

have somehow managed to do my work tonight despite my uber-witterage on here. Before i go, saw this and thought of our winters. Bit of stripe, bit of drape, bit of a bargain?

night!!

AllBuggiedOut · 23/11/2010 00:35

Night night cake Smile

Something very odd about that dress from behind. Is the model short or is the dress an odd length Confused

vin forgot to say earlier, thanks for the jewellery suggestion. Will check accessorize etc.

Romanarama · 23/11/2010 07:38

All this talk of rats - I'm going to put mine on now, even if I'll be at home all day!

Roary, just turn off sloane square onto sloane street and park on the left outside Hackett on the single yellow. That's my regular parking spot. Always easiest if you arrive as soon as poss after 6.30.

Lol at Marsha the liberty troll!

Romanarama · 23/11/2010 07:45

ok, i feel the need to tell you all that I have just swapped my Boden dress for: Rats, black super skinny cowl neck rib tunic (from Roma boutique), Jil Sander heeled calf boots, and Maxmara pale grey cashmere scarf. This despite planning to spend the whole day in my study at home working! Hope someone calls round. The postman? DHL?

AllBuggiedOut · 23/11/2010 08:03

Go roma Grin

notyummy · 23/11/2010 08:19

Well done Roma - that is dedication to the cause! I was working from home yesterday and was looking MUCH less stylish in Gap Jeans and a long sleeved blue top! You put me to shame.

Can't believe the thread is nearly a year old!!

Oh, and MM - am amazed at you being asked to wear 'non-branded' stuff. Was it because of the pernicious influence of materialism on children, or some other reason?

ABO - I don't find supermen hard and can do what you describe Anita doing. What kills me though is the squat and V raise (not so much the squat - but the V raise.) OUCH. Have to revert to the next level down on the weights for that particular exercise.

I am running a session for our senior managers today, preparing them for assessment centres. I find it amazing, but virtually none of them have ever been exposed to an assessment centre and are now being flung out into the cold pretty woefully unprepared. Unsurprisingly I have been inundated with people wanting to join the session! Wearing purple drapey dress, lace tights and high heeled brogues.

Looks like those of us in the east need to be digging out layers and boots for later this week. Brrrrr......

Romanarama · 23/11/2010 08:23

ny I do that too - preparing fperople for assessment centres, and also examining at them. It's actually my favourite thing of all the things I do at work, which is why I quite fancy switching to HR or coaching or something.

(Afraid I have swapped JS boots for fluffy slippers)

carciofi · 23/11/2010 08:30

Zembo, so sorry.

LTEC, you always look fab. Wear what you want!

Bonsoir, your dd is lovely.

Bunny, I will be thinking of you tomorrow. Mr Kumar is my consultant, haven't met him but I guess I will when I have the amnio. Two friends went to him and I have heard he is lovely.

I sold my Russell and Bromley studded biker boots that I always felt ridiculous in (ever since DH told me that they looked like something from a Michael Jackson tribute band). Thinking of getting Belstaffs now but wonder if they will go on sale.

Nice coat, Roary.

We are off to see Santa Claus now. Hope DD isn't scared!

hellsbelles · 23/11/2010 09:00

ABO - love the navy top. It looks very like the WIT one I've been lusting after.

Roma - you sound perfect! I do hope you get a delivery or something just so someone else gets to see outfit scrummyness

I'm at work today. Wearing one of my many many grey dresses (sale - cashmere pringle jumper dress with big chunky roll neck, pirate boots, tights).

I really must start selling/giving away stuff as I have no space for anything and too much of the same. The items that cause me most grief are my CL shoe boots. Hideously expensive...probably my first foray into designer shoes and only worn once (for fear of breaking neck). Should I ebay or find a decent dress agency?

My cleaner was very happy this morning though as a huge bag of stuff was awaiting her (nothing that you would have wanted or I would have offered it up to A&W massive!).

MarshaBrady · 23/11/2010 09:07

Ooh I'm wearing cream polo neck, V Bruno mustard cashmere dress , w tights and pirate boots.

Very similar to you Hells! Do you have VW pirate ones?

Nearly wore what I call the ironic Christmas cardigan (Paul&Joe sequins and stuff on knit) but felt I was swerving too close to iceskater on way to practise Grin.

hellsbelles · 23/11/2010 09:12

yup Marsha - they are the plain leather version rather than the suede ones - you sound beautifully colourful compared to my sombre attire.

LTEC - meant to say - your cheating on the Dukan is most certainly acceptable and won't cause problems. When I cheat I do it for the whole weekend and eat stupid things (8 course taster menu, thai takeaway, choc chip biscuits, chocolate torte, roast dinner Grin ). But when I've done small cheats it makes no difference at all.

Romanarama · 23/11/2010 09:12

Anything we'd like Hells ? You could put up some photos with sizes and we could bid!

roary · 23/11/2010 09:19

Dinner in London moot point as I have succumbed to vomiting bug. Sad
