Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

Yo tracey you can show me your moves on the 12th ;-)

speaking of which we'd better start making plans off the radar. So anyone planning to attend, can you start sending your details (screen names, real names, station arriving into etc) to [email protected]

hells I think the lace dress is perfect bc it is as beautiful as one would expect from an S&B regular but not from NAP or whatever, so can't incite too much wrath. Not gothic, just bang on trend {wink]

tracey I totally know where you are coming from re school mum.

bunny I can't believe that in 48 hours you will have met your little girls for the first time!! so magical!!

did I mention that I have 2 friends, both with twins and a singleton and a 17-month gap? other way around though, they both had their twins first. One has all girls like you, the other boy/girl twins followed by a boy. Happy mayhem. Smile

When we have style hells and mm I am going to need your help with this dinner dance thing please.

FritziGreenEyes · 22/11/2010 21:11

roary Can't you take the Oxford Express coach service? IIRC they leave from Victoria so not far from Sloane Sq.

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 21:12

roary - no invite needed here

Sorry - no idea on the sloane sq traffic situation...I'm a north londoner!

Esher - thanks for reassurance that I won't look like Robert Smith Grin

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2010 21:15

Bunny so close!

Woohoo another night of ds going to sleep easily. No cry what what.

Have a party this weekend and realised my shopping technique is spend it all on exxy stuff then abstain (fidget).

So am planning on wearing Paul&Joe bright big print dress (pink, coral and orangish I believe need to check) short, and loads of pearl buttons up the back. Bought when teeny, not worn for years. Geez tg I keep stuff.

Anyway was heartened by ltec's link to a P&J creation with swans. Who knew they were that much?! Needs to be worn more than once.

I like the one shoulder red dress too.

Zembo rest well. Sorry it must have been hard.

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 21:16

Thanks ltec - totally agree that it's the right dress (thank you for wise suggestion Smile - I was just worried about my accessories (no longer worried).

What help do you need with dinner dance? What does it say on the invitation about dress so we can come up with a plan? At a recent dinner dance I went (o.k...only dinner dance I've been to Wink everyone wore knee length...very disappointing.

I'm coming on the 12th...can't wait

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 21:17

I have lost the ability to close bracket.

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2010 21:17

Esher you should get the coated skinnies. I would!

Hells lace would be fab

So what's the mn party like? Is it great fun?

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2010 21:18

It's my lovely second child's First birthday on 12th, better be here for that!

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 21:19

Marsha - I have no idea if it's fun Grin. I am meeting up with some MN ladies I know from my weight loss thread for lunch and they have forced me to go to the evening thing as well. O.k they haven't forced me really. I'm lying. I actually booked to go last year and forgot to go! WTF?!

loobylu3 · 22/11/2010 21:19

Good evening!

zembo-I wrote a post to you earlier and then the computer disconnected (home hub) as toddler was fiddled with the switch without me realising and had to run out so couldn't fix it at that point!
I suppose it is good that the scan confirmed the MC and definitely good that you don't have to have any further intervention- much better to be left alone if possible!
You sound like a brave and practical person but don't feel guilty about taking a few days off if necessary and allowing yourself some time and peace.
On a lighter note, I also have that red drop waisted Gap dress and really enjoyed wearing it the other day. However, when I came to wash it, I noticed, to my horror, that it was dry clean only. I have taken a chance and washed it in the machine on hand wash but haven't tried it on yet so keeping my fingers crossed! :)

MM- I love that Oasis red dress you linked to but I know I shouldn't...

bonsoir- your DD looks really sweet. I love the name Flora and would definitely use it but for DH and his complete lack of taste :)
Anyway, I can barely manage with three so that's it for me unless Mary Poppins appears!

bunny- I wouldn't worry about your PIL not liking the names initially. I'm sure they will come round once they meet your DDs. You are never going to find a name that is liked by everyone so best just to choose names that you and your partner love (provided they are not going to disadvantage/ embarrass your child)! Best of luck for Wed!

bloss/ NY I want to order the shredding DVD. Is it the 30 day shred that I want initially?

LTEC- what are rats (excuse my ignorance)?

notyummy · 22/11/2010 21:25

30 Day Shred is it Louby.

notyummy · 22/11/2010 21:26

Or even 'it is'...

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 21:32

looby rats are these Fabulous!!

hells dinner dance dilemma is this. DD and ds1 go to arty nursery Hmm. Very sweet but ever so slightly veg-box. Dance is in the hall above the nursery so nowhere swish BUT the mum organising it (good friend of mine, v.cool. understatedly fab, kind of Joseph shearling chucked on over jeans and converse and then a few weeks later turn it inside out bc it has snot and mash all over it) will no doubt have plans to make the venue look fab. Head teacher (jeans, fleece and I think not just bc of job) says no no it will be casual .. although they have never done this partic event before (has always been cheese and wine at a parent's house that kind of thing)

I have, believe it or not, a reputation for being 'glam' at the nursery Grin Hmm and feel I should not lower myself to the level of potential down-dressers. Wink But nor should I be OTT (or should I......?) So, what to wear?? Janice?? (really want to wear Tibi maxi but can save for Dec wedding so at least it gets an outing this winter ...)

am I making sense??

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 21:34

Oh How lovely about ds2's birthday marsha!!

I went to a first b'day today, felt quite emotional. My 2 UK bfs and I all had children within a few weeks of each other last year. Now they are all 1 and that is (probably) it!! No more 1st birthdays for us Sad

Glad your P&J dress will get an outing, sounds fabulous.

hf128219 · 22/11/2010 21:37

LTEC It's getting the balance between looking yourself but not looking that you tried too hard/trying to outdo the others.

Does that make sense? So Janice could be a contender. But is that dressy enough?

Aww thank you ltec Smile am quite excited about 1st b'day.

Now yes Janice I think. Tibi, now that would blow their socks off. (as I repeatedly tell my five y.o)

If you don't feel totally happy go with something different.

Yes agree wear what you feel most happy with . The others will be ok. I wish I had dressed up more once. The whole night I felt annoyed (with myself for missed opportunity!). Ne'er again

eshermummy · 22/11/2010 22:04

LTEC - re outfit for nursery party.
Def not OTT, you don't want to be perceived as uppitty or too cool for school.
I think golden rules in this sort of sitch is dress for the venue - if it may be a bit cold/drafty then dress accordingly.
When in doubt I always go for the fabulously attired (well, in my head anyway!) but not much skin.
If you were at my nursery then I think what I'd be most Envy about (apart from your general innate fashion sense natch) is your lovely long legs and barnet so I'd do black opaques and Edelmans(or Rats and Edelmans??) for sure with an extra swooshy mellonhead Smile
I wouldn't do humingbird maxi as too much skin at neck/shoulders/arms and legs too hidden.

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 22:12

sorry - had bit of work to catch up on. I am with Esher on this. Look fabulous but not cold Grin...how did the haltonesque thing feel when you wore it the other night? Could that be right.

And yes I can believe you have a reputation for utter gorgeousness. I'm so glad you live on the other side of London (in a nice way of course Grin)

Right The Trip beckons - normally can't bear Steve Coogan but when battling middle aged angst he is rather endearing.

40deniertights · 22/11/2010 22:13

Zembo Hope you are taking care and treating yourself with kindness. Bonsoir. Am quite Envy that you have a Flora. Most beautiful name. MM the black outfit sounds gorgeous. Tried on a similar type of shirt in Next (not bought from there for years) and it was nice, good with all black.
