Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

hells lucky cleaner. Be careful what you get rid of. I am still kicking myself for getting rid of a fab vintage lace blouse and some open toe shoeboot KG wedges from cira 1998 - I kid you not. I still remember them fondly, they were/are my one and only Harrods purchase.

I don't get the whole 'nursery telling folk what to wear' thing mm. I've never heard of that before and I can't quite see the rational. What's wrong with developing good taste in DCs?

bunny IIUC this is your last day before your darling twin girls arrive. How exciting for all of you Smile. Good luck with the next few days.

Reading this thread has been a lovely light at the end of a nasty winter sickness bug tunnel. Two of my lovely DC have had v. restless nights indeed. I can sympathise with marsha et al re: lack of sleep now.

zembo the last few days must have been so difficult for you, hope you are looking after yourself (or better still, letting someone else do it).

notyummy · 23/11/2010 09:30

Roary - sorry to hear you are ill.

I am frankly amazed that DD hasn't picked up anything from school so far and brought it home to spread around us all. Perhaps being in nursery from a fairly young age has toughened up the immune system?! Or perhaps she is just waiting until Xmas to spread the bugs...

Lets hope your bugs are all out of the way before Xmas Roary.

monkeysmama · 23/11/2010 09:54

Bunny enjoy your last day as a mummy to one and as a family of three Grin. Hope you have a special day and good luck tomorrow. Very exciting!

Romanarama · 23/11/2010 09:58

Oh good luck with eeverything bunny ! How exciting that tomorrow you will have 3 babes not just one. We are all waiting with bated breath for a photo of tiny Emmeline and Aurelia.

pickledsiblings · 23/11/2010 10:04

Ladies, get over to WIT if you want to HEAR the woman herself (Lara) speaking about DPs SS11 looks. Go straight to 3.07 min if you can't wait to hear her Grin. Ooh I'm soooo excited.

I'm glad white is in next season as I have a lovely pair of unworn wide leg white linen trews.

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 10:46

Hello....well, in-laws have departed, and house back to ourselves...

Had lovely weekend, baby's christening which went very well...Wore the Boden teadress which was perfect! Felt very emotional...had written the reading myself and practised countless times but still managed to blub Blush

Going into Bath tomorrow to try the coated skinnies as feel they would be fab for christmas drinks!

Zembo - thinking of you and hoping you are okay

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 10:47

Bunny - enjoy today, because tomorrow will be another wonderful and exciting start of an era for your little family!

I'm having a strange morning.
First, I've been offered a teaching job, 1.5hrs a week, in a school not too far away, until May. (Will only take if I can find a pair of black skinny 'work' trousers to wear with breton, scarf and zara blazer as an 'uniform', by next week). To start next week.

Then, as soon as I put the phone down, a Welsh tv company phoned to ask if I wanted to hold a 'swopping' party for family and friends. They're sending the producer round this afternoon.

What will be next?

Hello, I've been asking on another thread for suggestions for where to find an animal print scarf.

Had some great ideas back, including Lily and Lionel who I didn't know about but who do look particularly gorgeous, though a bit more than I was planning to pay this time. One of the posters said the 'avid' folk would be likely to have a code for them, so any info on said code/s gratefully received !

tulpe · 23/11/2010 11:13

Wise & Avid Ladies: Opinions on these shoeboots from Autograph please :)

I need a pair to wear with tunic dresses and shift style. It has been suggested I should go for "directional" footwear with studs/buckles etc but despite being a size 8 I am a little heavy of leg. Thought these may go some way to elongating the leg (with that lovely heel) and not chop them off at cankle level :o

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 11:13

Am wearing cashmere cardi and wristwarmers and still cold...off to light fire!

Also, would you believe my sweet baby girl who normally goes off to bed like a sleepy angel of an evening, has for the last 2 nights, (because granny and grandpa are here no doubt), caused much fuss at bedtime...crying and screaming, then instantly laughing and cooing when Mummy pops in, then calls out for Dada, beseeching him until he inevitably arrives and wonders what all the fuss is all about!

All this talk of christmas presents is making me feel rather behind so will start to make a few lists I think....

Marsha, love the colour mustard! I really like that colour on blondes actually, and have a 'sulphur' coloured cardi which is lovely too...I like to wear with greys and charcoal...

DolceeBanana · 23/11/2010 11:17

Hello tulpe! I tried those on actually and wasn't keen on me...didn't like the shape when they were on...too rounded and clompy for the heels perhaps ?

I have pathetically skinny legs though so maybe that's why?

tulpe · 23/11/2010 11:22

am v jealous of skinny legs, Dolce !

I did think the heel was quite thin in comparison to the front of the shoe but I can't get a proper look on the website and I really don't want to go in to the store if I can help it. As my legs are more "ahem" substantial than yours, perhaps they will look better - generally many smart shoes tend to be too narrow and only succeed in making me look even heftier of leg :(

Any other opinions would be pleased to hear :)

LetThemEatCake · 23/11/2010 11:27

Bloss what a day!

Zembo how are you doing?

Bunny so close.. Hope you are relaxing.

Think I am channelling a low grade hells today... Gap charcoal merino dress, warehouse leopard scarf and red coat Smile

Tried on warehouse one shoulder dress, looked awful on me. But got cashmere and rats problem by finding an oversized cashmere Harrods sweater in grey in traid- £12. Sorted.

Now in m&s buying prawns... Tummy is bloated and horrid. Back on dukan wagon!

LetThemEatCake · 23/11/2010 11:29

Poly sorry no help on code
Maybe carciofi when she checks in?

LetThemEatCake · 23/11/2010 11:32

Sorry you're poorly roary, get well soon

MarshaBrady · 23/11/2010 11:40

Dolce love the sound of sulphur!

Tulpe I think they could be good, and leg-elongating. But it's hard to tell without a try on. Sorry, not very solid advice. I have seen them before on here, I think? Maybe someone else has them too.

traceybath · 23/11/2010 11:45

Tulpe - I have those and so does MM and possibly Choo too Grin They're fab and very leng elongating when worn with opaques or my black gap coated skinnies and perhaps also the faux leather skinnies as per MM.

Poly - not sure of any codes at the moment but Carciofi is indeed queen of the codes.

Romana - loving your working at home clothes - you need someone to do a magazine article on you Grin Dynamic mother of 3 and international powerhouse at home in her study in her black rats . . .

Bunny - just been in mothercare looking at carseats and saw teeny tiny babygros and thought of you Grin I bet today seems surreal - its the weird thing with a planned c-section that you know that by this time tomorrow there'll be an extra 2 babies in your family.

Sorry! Hope I didn't offend anyone who does have those shoe boots! Just not right on me !

hellsbelles · 23/11/2010 12:21

tulpe - if you are good at walking in heels those look potentially good.

roary - sorry you are illing. When was dinner supposed to be? If it's t/m you may be better in time.

Roma will do when I get my act together. Vino alas your feet are too dainty I'm pretty sure they are 39 or 40!

dolcee so glad christening was a success. Which reminds me that I need to get moving and sort one out for DD Blush

Grin at in-demand bloss why does it always happen like that!

OMG bunny t/m! I'm ridiculously excited for you.

poly no code here but quite a few of us have this warehouse one which is bargainous!

Tsk LTEC - as you are younger/taller/skinnier/prettier you can do low grade with stunning results. Some of us (me) need all the help we can get!

MarshaBrady · 23/11/2010 12:21

Bloss sounds good! What is the party, will you be on television??

blossoming · 23/11/2010 12:47

Well, my foray into tv has come to a halt. They called back to say they were filming on the 9th - the anniversary of dc2's death. I'd already decided it was a ridiculous idea anyway, and dh would be furious with me. So I was pleased to be able to state categorically, absolutely, no way.
(No big deal to be on tv in Wales, unless you're Alex Jones, and get upgraded to the One Show!)

Right, teaching trousers. Anyone tried these from BR?

Can't believe this thread is almost a year old. It really did come at the right time for me, I'd never posted anything before this thread, and look at me now! Love ltec's idea of a party. Count me in!

Hope you're having a lovely day bunny.

Sorry you're poorly roary
