Flippin Nora - just seen the price difference - I pay 4.80euros for a bottle over here - will add to my Tescos list!

I use Sassoon for coloured hair and think it's good. I also like Kerastase products.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2010 19:25

I should be using Aveda purple stuff and replenish stuff, but too often buy Pantene Ultra Volume or something

hf128219 · 31/10/2010 19:41

OWW This is nice

It is here

fritzi Sounds like you had a good time

tracey Just washed my hair with dd's baby shampoo Blush Grin

blossoming · 31/10/2010 19:49

John Frieda straightening shampoo. Out damn curl.

fritzi, really glad your party went well.

ollie, v jealous of your London trip.

I fear dh thinks my alcohol consumption is on the rise. I used to be dreadful before I married, having a glass or two every night and more at the weekend. Then I got pregnant and afterwards I saw my weight ballooning for sitting at home with dc1 instead of my busy busy previous life. So I made a just Friday and Saturday rule, apart from holidays and special ocasions. When we lost dc2 I was really careful not to drink, only tea and more tea. But now? It's that groundhog day thing we were talking about earlier in the week. So mundane and monotonous. I've introduced boozy Thursday recently and finding it hard to resist the lure of the wine cupboard right now.
Will shred instead.

bunnymother · 31/10/2010 19:58

Am v Envy of the wine being enjoyed tonight. My drink of choice these days is rice milk w added calcium Hmm. Drink a litre per day Shock.

Watched the Wonderland: High Society Brides episode on iplayer. Completely agree w comments About D of Bedford's bitterness. It seems she was convinced / convinced herself of importance of duty and fulfilling a set role, but got no joy out of it and seems grimly determined that others should see it her way / follow her example. Quite sad. Stark contrast w Cumbrian couple who moved to Morocco. I sensed a real happiness / chemistry between them.

bunnymother · 31/10/2010 20:01

Fritzi - congrats on party - wonderful to hear you had such a great time and looked as good as you felt!

Lots of delicious meals you Wise Ladies are making/ have made. Roast lamb, roast beef, Nigella's prawn pasta (isn't she just too gorgeous, by the way?!). Roast chicken w vegies here tonight. Happy DH.

Btw - not a SINGLE trick or treater - have we been blacklisted? Wink Since I bought lollies in anticipation, seems I will have to eat them myself.

PlumSykes · 31/10/2010 20:06

Oh bunny, am sure the bunnikins would appreciate a wee glass, no?

I adored that High Soc Brides prog, but agree the Duch of B was a very odd fish. Loved the Morocco couple, although thought their sons were the worst example of moneyed young aristo-idiots. I also adored the woman whose husband had been a drunk, was now a driving teacher. She was so 'battleaxe-in-a-crisis', much like my lovely Granny!

bunnymother · 31/10/2010 20:09

OWW - a quiet place to eat is cafe in Mamas and Papas on Regent St - v civilised w nice toilets. Would struggle to think of somewhere that isn't chaotic around there. If you do get hungry near St Chris. Place the Ping Pong there is a good option. Albeit busy.

Tracey - I use the John Freida so no help to you.

monkeysmama · 31/10/2010 20:12

I like the top floor of John Lewis for food. There is a good range and lots of space. The salads are great as are the cakes. And they do wine Grin.

bunnymother · 31/10/2010 20:16

Plum - yes, I think the bunnykins (Smile) would like a glass of wine. You are a wise lady. V interesting program, wasn't it?! That lady was v v strong and well done to her and her ex-DH for remaining friends. Seemed to me that she still felt some hurt over him / his behaviour and that he had learned some v hard life lessons and poss had some regrets. Was certainly sensitive of him to reflect on what a state she must have been in when she left him. Thankfully he was without that enfuriating self pity or misplaced outrage some people have. He came across quite well, I thought. Yes, Moroccan sons were a bit cookie cutter hooray Henry. Poss just v young?

PlumSykes · 31/10/2010 20:17

OWW, Fenwicks has a Carluccios, and you know, it's Fenwicks.

Am supposed to be blogging, give me a stern look if I come back before I'm done.

FritziGreenEyes · 31/10/2010 20:31

Forgot to say: Thanks bloss for encouraging me to have a blow-dry. My hair was all swishy and fabulous and even looked good today!

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 20:41

Hmm. bloss I went a bit nuts after lost DD (gin, vodka, benzodiazepines all came round to party at the same time!) but then DC2 made his presence aware so had to stop. If it hadn't been for an oddly timed pregnancy things wouldn't have turned out so well.

bunny my line manager at work told me, as I berated my abuse of coffee when pregnant, that when she was pregnant she drank 2 glasses of wine every evening throughout whole pregnancy and DC turned out fine, she said it would be good for the bump if I did. I was like ----> Shock! that's,er, interesting!

Gosh all the babies on here are making me broody.

Trying to watch x factor, give DS milk and type a schedule of loss for an employment case at the same time. Somehow MN is more enticing Grin

monkeys I am intrigued by your magical trousers- I'm stuck in a trouser rut as all I have that fit are some bit too skinny grey and black jeans

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 20:50

oh dear new thread needed! I'm rubbish- what was Cakey's title?

Mine would be 'Doing our bit for the economy: avidly and wisely paying lots of VAT'

Think it needs to be WIT themed though, I'm sure she reads this thread!

PlumSykes · 31/10/2010 21:06

Blog done-yippee-update here

Now for Downton Abbey ...

Fleecy · 31/10/2010 21:14

Am tucking into big bag of sweets here as we didn't have a single trick or treater. SAving the Parma Violets for last as they're my fave and DH hates them Smile

fritzi glad party went well and you looked fab.

bloss are you naturally curly then? Can't imagine that. Your hair looked so wonderfully chic and sleek.

Fleecy · 31/10/2010 21:17

plum have just skimmed your blog. Not sure I believe you - there's no way you could be deemed maiden auntish!

Loving the sound of that byterry stuff - might have to give it a whirl. Suffer with dark circles most of the time.

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 21:20

re shampoo I know many blonde kerastase devotees

I just use aussie mega shampoo.. I used to use charles worthington chocolate shampoo, made my hair so shiny, but cannot find it anywhere now!

plum I love your blog, great writing style and so true. Have used eve lom for years and really miss it if I don't use it. Ditto shu uemera, and can recommend Nars Mata Hari blush as a really pink blush which flatters all skin tones..

wedding fairs though, I don't do those. They're really scary [hgrin]

CHOOGIRL · 31/10/2010 21:24

Goodness time for new thread already? Have hardly posted.

DD's 5th birthday party today. 30 4/5 year olds at 'soft play'. She had a fantastic time and so did I knowing the tidying up was not mine Am now enjoying wine.

Lots of congratulations due especially to Zembo who has managed to conceive in the time it has taken to fill this thread!! Tinned salmon to those who are having a bad time at the mo.

Have been a bit too Avid of late in pursuit of the perfect shoeboot. Got these as modelled by Cake at the meet up. Optimistically ordered the 41 when I am 39.5 and surprise they are too big so back they go. Saw some shearling ones in Russell and Bromley (when are they going to join the 21st century and get a decent website?) for which I paid £195 then my friend rocked up at work in these which are a fraction of the price. Have also ordered these as recommended by MM

I watched the Society Wedding as recommended by Traceybath. My takeaway was that the women were all very miserable. I think that some of the WAGS today are similar to those women so more to do with wealth than class.

Fleecy · 31/10/2010 21:25

Yes, I've never been to a wedding fayre. Never occured to me to go when we were getting married Confused I find it all a bit strange (apologies to anyone who went to them before getting married).

blossoming · 31/10/2010 21:26

fleecy, no not curly (unless you add mousse and a diffuser then I look like I've had a perm!) Just wavy and frizzy. Put it this way, my hair would still be 'elfin' cropped were it not for ghds.

mrsjuan · 31/10/2010 21:30

Great blog Plum - I will also be trying the dark circles stuff - I am prone to them even without DD's insomniac ways.

Shampoo - I tend use Charles Worthington or the Aussie stuff. I also quite like some of the Dove stuff.

hf - I like using baby shampoo sometimes too Blush
