Ha good on her. I think I have a couple of apples Grin

PlumSykes · 31/10/2010 17:42

, Marsha.

Am knocking back the vino and dealing with the 100s of trick or treaters that we get.

Will do Nigella Express king prawn, chilli, tomato spaghetti when teh little ghouls ahve gone to bed. Am hoping MIL goes to bed early, so I can watch Downton Abbey and do the ironing in relatively sozzled peace. (my Sunday night ritual)

Cake, shorts and I will never happen. Muchos fattos leggos.

Did an M&S speculative order today.

minky lace dress

necklace 1

necklace2

patent brogues

heels

Also wanted this jacket but they don't have him in my size. Will pick up order in store on fri, so shall look for him then.

hf128219 · 31/10/2010 17:44

You are all so lucky! I am home alone playing Twinkle Twinkle on the piano with DD.

Envy
hf128219 · 31/10/2010 17:50

Like necklace no 2 very much.

MarshaBrady · 31/10/2010 17:54

Love your big order Plum! Very chic! Smile

If any of you have a baby and older one I recommend Courtney.

There is the line about 'entertaining the baby'. I use it a bit with ds1!

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 18:13

Hello all! monkeys cake et al would be great to do a SE london baby-inclusive meet up Grin I just have to find something to wear look in my diary! Actually I am a little terrified by the prospect of actually meeting you lot, you know, I think you will think 'eeeugh' (I know that sounds shallow, I am not at all shallow I promise) but I do have a slight complex about er, everything!! I am only back agt work part time to start with though so will have, after this next week, quite a few clear days. I think we should start a rebellion in the children's playground.. high heels, leopard coats, gold bling Grin I always feel a bit like I get funny looks at the swings if I am wearing anything other than an anorak

I saw a friend today and typically P played up, he stomped off to the car at 8am Hmm to 'check it' (call OW??) so we had a massive row as the last time I met a friend he arranged to meet OW (he doesn't know I know) I even told him today how very much I despise him and begged him to leave (he has houses, I do not, thus he should leave) but no- still here..

Oh P can be awfully racist without realising it (funny as OW is not remotely white or English) -ehem- but he said to someone in the market the other day 'how did you get out of zambia?' and she was like 'what???' I have no idea what he meant, I kicked him in the shins and spent mucho dinero on her home-made sauces to compensate!!! I think he saw it as a genuine question because he thought Zambia was a locked down country but oh my god the way it came out I wanted the ground to swallow me up!

traceybath · 31/10/2010 18:15

This is the day that never ends.

Roast dinner done - did roast rib of beef as dry-run for christmas - very nice. Have drank one glass of wine [virtuous]

Children bathed and in pyjamas watching caspar. No trick or treaters here.

MM - I too am starting being ultra good tomorrow. Want to be slender for christmas.

monkeysmama · 31/10/2010 18:16

We have had probably 25 groups of trick or treaters and dp has been out to restock.

loobylu3 · 31/10/2010 18:22

Have just returned from trick or treating with the DC- they were v insistent and we only went to the immediate neighbours.

I am looking forward to getting them all into bed as feeling exhausted. plum- am looking forward to watching Downton Abbey wit a glass of red too- (always a sucker for a good costume drama) and fortunately I won't be disturbed by in laws :)

By the way, I like all of your links, especially the dress and choker necklace.

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 18:26

No trick or treaters here so far, apart from DS who has scoffed choc souffle

Have spent shockig amount of money on Space NK goodies- how easy is it to add things to your bag and suddenly-ouch!

bloss I know what you mean, I think after I lost DD I felt so bloody awful that if I had to wear clothes I didn't like on top of that I'd have not got up in the mornings. I'm sure it's quite unhealthy but 5 days after she died I went on a huge RL shopping spree and maxed out all my cards on rubbish just because momentarily it gave me a distraction from the disaster. I could barely walk, hadn't eaten or anything and was probably really 'out of it' but still accumulated an awful lot of clothes and shoes (not even ones I liked!)

I don't do that kind of thing now I have vowed not to buy things I am not 100% happy with- am trying to be wise! Anyway, an occasional online shopping event is far cheaper than a psychiatrist and probably more effective

blossoming · 31/10/2010 18:30

I want to be drinking wine too!!
I fear giving up sugar has made me crave alcohol, blue cheese and curry.
I spent the afternoon at parents with sis and bil and family present. Dh reckons he last saw them at Christmas!! (We live in the same small town!)

Thanks for lovely words bunny.

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 18:31

Have just ordered yet another www.lilyandlionel.com/item.php?id=501&stylenumber=SC2136 lily&lionel scarf]] for friend's birthday (she's Italian and scary- would suit her) hope she likes it. If you order tomorrow though between 7 and 8 you get a free bracelet. I always miss these things !

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 18:33

oops

Can you not sneak some wine in there bloss? Red wine's awfully good for you! I admire your dedication though, I couldn't give up sugar these days I am a total carb addict. No dukan for me!

traceybath · 31/10/2010 18:34

Bloss - do what Liz Hurley does and just drink vodka, fresh lime and soda - seems to do her good Grin

What did you get from space nk Vino? I bought a lovely byterry lipstick last week - sort of brick red colour - very nice.

blossoming · 31/10/2010 18:35

Cross posts with you there vino. What a truly awful time. How long has it been for you now?

happilyeverafter · 31/10/2010 18:41

Plum your M&S links are lovely. Someone linked to a gorgeous grey fur 'thing' on another thread which was M&S also.

MM Was it you that had the full circle harems from asos? I keep looking at them and but unsure what size to order. After sending back the IO pegs I am now trying to find a suitable replacement.

Vino Not sure what to say but you sound like you are worth a 1000 of your P. Hope you sort situation out soon.

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 18:42

what did I not get tracey! Various things! Some more tinted moisturiser (don't actually wear anything on face at the moment and thought it may be a good idea if getting up before 6am to go to work!), esher's touche veloutee by terry stuff (have never tried) some chantecaille lipsticks.. erm.. some new mascara, which I totally don't need, shower gel, etc !

Oh but I can recommend nars 'amour' blush- it's fab

bloss has been about 10 mins since last wine!
but really, just over 18 months now

vinvinoveritas · 31/10/2010 18:46

Oh and can I just say- do NOT get your teeth whitened if you have no willpower. I got mine done in the summer and my teeth are darker than they were to start with because I haven't been able to stop drinking black coffee. Bad bad vin

FritziGreenEyes · 31/10/2010 18:59

Party was a great success! Last guests left at 2:30. Got many compliments for outfit. Wore Janice with sparkly high heels. Thanks again cake! Feel bad to accept Janice in return for 7FAMs as I'm sure they are too big for you by now. If it's ok for you I will make a donation to a local children's charity.

Too shattered to catch up on all your posts properly. Think I will go to bed soon Smile.

monkeysmama · 31/10/2010 19:00

Happily yes I have Full circle trousers and have just ordered other colour too. They are nice. They're not brilliant quality but are fine for everyday wear. I like mine. Esher has just ordered some too. Why did you send IO pegs back? I'm waiting for mine to be delivered.

OllieWollieWoo · 31/10/2010 19:04

LTEC - did you see that there is now a 25% off Phase Eight code - Grazia11 - what did you decide re the lovely sequined jacket?
GeorginaWorsley - saw your post on the P8 thread - thats always so annoying when you miss a better code. What did you get if you don't mind me asking? I'm still faffing re the Chunky Cable Cardigan and the poncho!
Vin - sorry to read of P's behaviour - but loving reading about you purchases. You deserve everything!
Plum - glad you ordered the lace dress - hope its a keeper!
Fritzi - how was the party - or perhaps its still going?!!!!

Advice time Ladies of the non S&B kind - where shall I have lunch in London when I'm there for my day trip next week? Plan to start at M&S Marble Arch and head towards John Lewis via St Christophers Place/Selfridges before going to Banana Republic/Regent Street and if I have the energy ending up around Marylebone. Think I will be further down Oxford St by lunchtime/early afternoon than St C's Place else would have gone to a restaurant around there. As its such a treat to be over there for the day, I want a bit more than my usual M&S salad on the run! Ta in advance!

OllieWollieWoo · 31/10/2010 19:08

X posts Fritzi - really glad you had some a great time and I bet you looked gorgeous!

OP posts:
traceybath · 31/10/2010 19:09

Fritzi - that sounds fab! Did your friend bring her child - I did think of you last night as I was sat in pj's watching Strictly.

traceybath · 31/10/2010 19:11

What shampoo do you all use? I normally use John Frieda sheer blonde but its just not suiting my hair any more.

FritziGreenEyes · 31/10/2010 19:17

tracey Friend called last Thursday to cancel because she had to go to a conference for work or something. Said she was so sorry to miss the party but was looking forward to the next one. Err, thanks very much but I think I can do without the stress of dealing with her demands in the future.
