Stamp on the new thread (quote from Bo Derek btw!!!)

I have that top - in fact I am wearing the blue summer version today!

I would say no - just not quite right. I do like the jacket though but with a plain top underneath.

traceybath · 30/10/2010 18:22

Bloss - I am rubbish at putting patterns together - I lack that inate style thing. Hence I am such a classic/dull dresser.

Just been looking at WIT and I want to be her tripping round in high heels even on cold days.

blossoming · 30/10/2010 18:30

Thanks hf. I'm like you traceyb, but I'm beginning to think, hell, who cares? And I want to wear high patent heels and have gorgeous shiny nails every day! I don't like her hair much though.

MarshaBrady · 30/10/2010 18:31

I love looking at that WIT. (She is very pretty!)

I also adore The Sartorialist.

Really, really good style.

hellsbelles · 30/10/2010 18:32

yes - not only is WIT girl golden - she can also go sock/tightless Envy in freezing temps Grin

Fritzi - that's fab that the janice looks so great.

HF/Carcifio - I've ordered DD an age 3 of that lovely cosy coat. She is 21 months but very tall...do you think that is about right?

Why is there so much velcro in a childs world. I am very upset that some of my falke tights have been ruined by the stuff.

Fleecy · 30/10/2010 18:33

bloss I also like the jacket and think it would be very versatile - but might be a bit too much with the stripe underneath. I am quite a matchy sort of person though and struggle with clash!

tracey these class things always amuse DH and me - my mother's family had staff and my father's family were in service. Mum read History of Art and worked for a publisher, Dad left school as soon as possible and went straight into the army.

History repeats itself - DH is proudly working class, I am a bundle of middle-class hang-ups and anxieties!

I'm shoes on, he's shoes off.

Anyhoo, leaving all that aside, have you seen this house? I'm sure it would perfectly suit you and if you buy it, I would love to visit Grin Regularly. With a view to moving in...

traceybath · 30/10/2010 18:37

Hells - my first thought was 'ooooh cold toes' upon seeing her sockless.

traceybath · 30/10/2010 18:40

Fleecy - you know that house is alright but perhaps a little small Wink

Just watching Strictly - god they dress Tess in some ghastly stuff. Like OWW and Bloss - I adore Claudia and think she looks amazing and is so funny.

Fleecy · 30/10/2010 18:48

Do you mean there won't be room for me to join you there? Shock

blossoming · 30/10/2010 18:48

This is my first Saturday watching Strictly! Although I never miss ITT!!
And I hate it - the Halloween theme thing. Ghastly.

carciofi · 30/10/2010 19:39

Hells, yes, that should fit. Did you go for red or navy?

Wow, what an amazing house.

Bloss, I like tweed with stripes.

I like quite a lot in the Boden preview. I think I will order the leopard print sandals.

Have a great night, Fritzi! I am sure it will be a great party.

blossoming · 30/10/2010 19:58

Nice carciofi. They're similar in style to ones they had in mini boden last s/s that I liked, but didn't go up to my size.

I may try tweed and stripes. I'm tired of being predictably matchy matchy (stamps foot and swishes hair).

traceybath · 30/10/2010 20:01

Bloss - just do it - after all you're worth it Wink Got carried away with hair swishing.

hf128219 · 30/10/2010 20:23

Bloss It's not a no to tweed and stripes - just that tweed which looks like it would be stripes on stripes!

traceybath · 30/10/2010 20:37

Think I may add this to my christmas list.

blossoming · 30/10/2010 20:37

Yes but hf, one day I will post a photo of my wardrobe and you will see the vast array of different stripes that I own!!

hf128219 · 30/10/2010 20:43

bloss Grin

tracey nice dress.

traceybath · 30/10/2010 20:48

Or this coat which I love.

hf128219 · 30/10/2010 20:51

Nice coat - a classic.

hellsbelles · 30/10/2010 20:52
MarshaBrady · 30/10/2010 20:57

Oh no Hells I have two boys. Completely different, one olive etc one blonde and blue eyes and love seeing how different colours look on each.

I can see it on them where I might struggle to know with me.

loobylu3 · 30/10/2010 20:58

tracey- I absolutely love the Alice dress and the Holly Golightly coat! I think the drapiness of the dress would be v flattering. Also a big Audrey Hepburn fan! You have great style!
Isn't shoes off/on more of a cultural thing? It's certainly the done things to take shoes off in a number of Asian countries.

bloss- I think stripes would be fine with tweed and don't think you need to be too matchy matchy. However, I'm not overly keen on that Boden jacket- don't like the frayed edges. Please feel free to ignore my advice as I'm not a regular contributor and not as stylish a lots of you :)

MarshaBrady · 30/10/2010 21:04

Think that dress would look great on you Tracey.

blossoming · 30/10/2010 21:08

Can't open your dress link traceyb, but like the coat, dress and boots!

monkeysmama · 30/10/2010 21:19

Hells my dd has the red. Navy suits her but was sold Out in her size. She's 2.5yo but tall and is fine in the 4yo one when she's standing up. In the pram it goes a bit high up her neck but is ok and nice and long and warm.

Tracey I love love that dress and coat.

Thanks for stripes links. I bought four striped tops in Gap today on a 3 for 2 offer and one in sale.

Liking necklaces too though don't want to spend that much.

Am obsessed with a style of trouser that's a kind of harem/paperbag style - jersey with a tailored leg with a droped waist. Have bought six pairs and am so much happier. Every day I feel pleased when I look in the mirror atm which is unheard of for me. I think it's a combination of having a few quality items I'd listed after (Belstaff biker boots & All Saints Post Commander leather jacket), plus trousers that suit my shape, life and are fashionable and that I'm comfortable. I'll wear anything if I like it even if I can't breathe or walk but it's so nice to love something comfy! Saw my dsis and our (v stylish) ddad today and they agreed that my outfit wasn't their taste but that I looked great and happy Grin.

Had hard day - dd up at 5:10 and been out all day since 7:30 on my own with her as dp and our two best mates attempted to finish our redecoration by taking a lorry load of stuff to our storage thing & collecting and putting up all dd's new bedroom furniture & our new chairs etc. Dd has been a real monkey today as she was tired & is still under the weather but she was so pleased with her room and so grateful. "I love it as big as the moon and mountains" she said Grin.

So me, me. Sorry Blush.

I think the M&S scarf Tracey linked to is really nice.

Vin I've never been sure how near you are to me but I'd love to meet you for a park play (LOs not us!) or a beer one evening if you fancy it. I'll wear my faux fur Grin and you wouldn't need to worry-every day is a bad hair day here!
