Marsha- 'pale' is my idea of how mine should look too...your's sounds great. I suppose light creamy shades...a more neutral blonde, not golden. yes, I am fussy too!

Just made scrambled eggs and salmon for lunch...oh, with a few oatcakes thrown in for good measure. Yummy!

Yangy - you sound so organised with the gifts for christmas already purchased. I have no idea what to get anyone! Also, trying to organise christening and christening lunch so running around like headless chicken with screechy DD (oh yes, she's better!).

Bloss - no idea who Zoe is !

Plum - I sympathise...was just taking the girls out for a stroll earlier and realised I'd trod in a berry on way back from school which was still stuck to bottom of boot and didn't notice when I put them back on. Just about to go out of door and spotted the 'berry trail' behind me, so me being me, stopped everything to clean up with carpet cleaner (cream carpets)......Aarghhhhhh......

DolceeBanana · 19/10/2010 13:54

Yes a 'cool' blonde is it! Thanks Bunny!

Book a pedicure Bunny...

Love the drapey dress and love the emerald colour one for Christmas - jewel colours are so festive.

yangy DH and I don't really do Christmas presents either. We spend £60 on each other for birthday, don't do anniversary presents (just cards and meal) and haven't given each other Christmas gifts since we got married. We also buy something jointly instead or do nothing.

I know it sounds a bit spoilt brat but if I want something I usually buy it anyway (little things like clothes!) so if I ask for that sort of thing then it's not overly special. I tend to receive money from family and put that towards one more expensive item that I wouldn't usually buy - so last year I bought a chair.

Weekends away not so practical now we have the DC. Family are fab for babysitting in the evenings. Overnight stays a whole different story and fair enough Grin

Three months is a long time to be without your DH. DOn't blame you for wanting to see if you can go too. At least he'd be able to come back here and there.

I love this colour.

happilyeverafter · 19/10/2010 15:55

Just jumping in and marking my place.

Have been so rushed the last few days I feel all out of sorts, I combat this by eating chocolate so now I feel bloated and grumpy. I need to rethink my coping strategies...

Ah well dd birthday tomorrow so after baking 40 cupcakes for nursery (must have pink number 4s, have been told!) I am going to skive off parenting for the evening and do a double spin session followed by 80 lengths at the pool.

Marsha and dolcee I am a highlighted blond, my best friend is a hairdresser so I get whatever colour she decides. She did a few highlights yesterday and cut inches off and never once asked what I wanted! I am very easily pleased which I fear is not a good thing.

Have charity do Friday and must fit in new phase 8 dress, size 10 has no room for my swollen tum!

I love the phase 8 dress being linked to by all - I'm such a sucker for navy too.

Fritzi - beautiful dress - colour is terrific!

Happily - happy birthday to your DD!

Ladies, I need more help, please! We need an inflatable double bed - is Aerobed the best one? Am thinking of getting the Classic double. Seems that you pay for it, but last one we bought has caused nothing but problems w constant leaks of air so want to buy a decent product this time... Will also post under camping.

GeorginaWorsley · 19/10/2010 16:23

Am loving the Phase Eight dress.
I 've had quite a few bits from them recently.

vinvinoveritas · 19/10/2010 16:49

Hurrah for phase eight dress Grin I'm not entirely sure what shoes would go with it

also carciofi your codes are fab! (you're fab too of course)

great thread title, I can hear the sharp intakes of breath over MN hahaha

Have decided I need a shortish warm black jacket. All black blazers are too cold and black trench too long. This is my mission!

OllieWollieWoo · 19/10/2010 16:53

Saw this in a magazine today and quite liked it:
monsoon alert!

Afternoon ladies.

Love the title OWW - bit disappointed not to see influx of people telling us how shallow we are Wink

Yangy - Far East sounds very exciting!

Love the phase eight dress and LTEC I bet you look stunning in it.

Exciting day of park and baking cakes here - I was super mummy and braved Victoria Park which as anyone who knows Bath will realise was very kind of me as its rather huge. And there is no place to get a coffee Shock

DS1 also on his 2 week half-term - think we may go to Westonbirt and Lacock and Dyrham as they have halloween type activities on I think.

Right need to arrange going out for dinner with friends this weekend as have babysitter - yeay.

DolceeBanana · 19/10/2010 17:05

Yangy - christening in 4 weeks, so dh tells me and sends me emails with millions of q's in which he is very business like...I find it hilarious! I then send him little lovey messages and he begrudgingly says...oh, really, really busy, but I do love you too! His secretary probably is like ...
Childish, I know!

DH is quite good , with presents...when he can get them ordered on time that is....and allow for cock ups with Royal Mail!!!

He does usually demand a list, then dismisses everything on it, and gets what he wants...but I am lucky that he has good taste, and values quality over price, so that's good. I am still waiting for an eternity ring though, oh, and a new wedding ring

Right, supper calls...made last night as I did a bit of a cook off yesterday, so paprika pepper, lentil and chicken casserole with mash and peas tonight.

What y'all having?

Can you link again to navy Phase 8 dress please cake? cannot find anywhere....thanks

DolceeBanana · 19/10/2010 17:11

Brave lady venturing to Victoria Park on your own with 3 kiddies...lovely place though!!! Mine adore the merry-go-round.

Lucky you with babysitter...we have organised one for following Saturday to go out to dinner with friends and I really want to get a black wrap dress for such occasions through autumn/winter (or plum, or grey)...

We are on half term next week, and will do lots of Westonbirt, as just got new membership...kids love it there...

vinvinoveritas · 19/10/2010 17:14

tracey westonbirt is very pretty at this time of year isn't it. Oh I love halloween, one of the primary reasons I had children was to justify fancy dress halloween parties.. [hblush]

Anyway, I am currently ignoring poor DS while I peruse boots online (see, I'm getting the mojo back)

I bumped into supermum today. Not the kind of LTEC-esque well groomed fashion forward immaculate but, crucially, nice mum, the kind of mum that has 10 nannies/houses/horses/allthelatestmulberrybags/immaculatehair&makeup/all that, but isn't very nice. I met her at a baby group ages ago and it was painful talking to her, and she is so judgey! If she judges me I cannot imagine what she'd be like with other mums!
Anyway, then again, maybe she has reason to be a bit judgey, for it was a bad day. Typically I was a. rained on, b. DS had part of a biscuit in his hair and had smeared something over his top and buggy and c. choc powder from my soy cappuccino had somehow made its way onto my face, in fact there was a big smudge on my cheek and nose.

Must do better!

I have also decided to further declutter my wardrobe (when I find time) and my question with each item will be: Would you want to be stopped by sky news and interviewed wearing this? or Would you want to see ...............* while wearing this?
*insert crush/ favourite actor/ etc

and half my wardrobe automatically becomes redundant!

traceybath · 19/10/2010 17:15

Oh Dolcee - I saw a lovely dress for you in the white company on sunday but its not on their website yet.

Its a wool jersey and v necked, black with long sleeves with very subtle little black sparkly bits dotted round the v neck. I think it was £65 and just on the knee on me so would be good length on you.

It was lovely, very flattering and very elegant and I did think - oh this is such a dolcee-dress Grin

Lordy, what with going into monsoon to look at Esher's links, finding lace reiss dress for LTEC and seeing white co dress for you - its rather like I'm 3 years old and shopping with my imaginary friends Wink

yangy so organised! well done. Far east would be amazing .. if you're all together that is.
hells outfit sounds great
Fritzi beautiful colour dress
Hello GW!!

I too am imagining outraged and indignant MNers despising us for our shallow and frivolous ways.

traceybath · 19/10/2010 17:20

Yangy - you are so going to have another baby Grin

Vino - I tend to think that people who appear judgemental are lacking in self-esteem/have issues.

LetThemEatCake · 19/10/2010 17:20

oops x-posting all over the shop.

Vino Blush Thank you. Do you know what, that really means a lot. To be thought of as a good mum and nice. Thank you. Smile

I know the other sort though, lots of them around here as I'm sure you remember!!
